Hi, anyone gonna be queueing tomorrow in West Quay Southampton? not sure what time to get there for.

cheers

Hey there, I'm personally not going but I do live real close. It's a fairly large store, but remember you also have John Lewis there too. I'd get there mid afternoon, say 1:30?

I know someone who works as a specialist at an Apple store (Not saying which one). I asked him on stock and basically trying to get as much info as I could.

He's not allowed to say anything, doesn't matter if you promise to keep your mouth shut.

I got out of him that his store have been getting stock since yesterday (Wednesday) and have continued to get more stock in today and will get another batch tomorrow morning.

I showed him this thread when it was on page 92, he said that he finds it "funny" at the times people are gonna start queuing.

He finds it funny? How long has he worked at an apple store? did he not see iphone 4 queues?

Thanks for picture.

I wonder how much Apple paid to have one or two people create a queue;)

Now by squeezing stock levels we all get into a frenzy. What if nobody went and queued up and took the stress free option of ordering on line. When it arrives it arrives.

It is clear that the key big Apple centres will have the most stock, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol. Exeter won't have as much as Bristol. So if anyone in the south west wants an iPad 2, drive to Bristol or Birmingham.

I'm undecided whether to go there or not. Southampton is my local store too, but I can't leave work any earlier than 2 so wouldn't get there until 2.30 gone.

Just phoned Best Buy and they told me they will be issuing tickets upon arrival, so might try there first. Its closer and might see if they are giving out tickets at 2.15 and what stock they have. Just wondering if its just better to go to WestQuay........

Interestingly, I phoned John Lewis and they told me they can't give at stock level details, but it will be on sale from 9am!!!!

Doubt that will happen though

i am, aiming to get there between 11-1 cant decide what time really. what time are you planning to get there?

I'll aim for the morning around store opening, big breakfast (don't plan on eating for the rest of the day). Ask in store and que...

I'll be getting there at around 6 as i can't get off work. The stupid thing is I work at the apple repair centre up the road, and the gits won't let me finish early :(

So when i get there, the queue will be huge, either that or everything sold out :(

Was employed as a temp the year the iPhone 3g came out and has been there working full time ever since.

Yes, he finds it funny. He could mean that it's funny how crazy people are queuing up so early. Bearing in mind he knows how much stock the store has. Or, he knows the store have low stock and people queuing at 1 are too late?

I don't know...

lol - seeing as you are in manchester... i could take a stab at where he is but i wont for the sake of keeping your secret intact.
anyhow - does he find it funny because there is plenty of stock for everyone and there's no need to wait in line i wonder?!

That sucks!

Posted this pic on the London thread, just thought I'd post here!! From Regent St earlier at lunchtime, I am just working around the corner today!!!

seriously i cant understand how people could wait in line for more than 24 hours...
does this mean they will be sleeping outside there too?

Hehe, not Manchester mate. But, the store he works at is pretty big and in a big city. So in my opinion whatever stock his store is getting I'm guessing will be the same at others.

Mine has just arrived from the US! Im happy :)

Oh ok yeah makes sense :)

Ok - this is probably the most stupid question in the world......
Does anyone think there will still be some stock around on Saturday morning?

Vodafone pricing

You can either commit to a 24 month data plan, which will subsidise the cost of the iPad 2 as part of the deal, or you can foot the full bill for the device and simply pick up a monthly rolling micro SIM-only contract. There’s also a Pay As You Go option, so there really is something for everyone.
The 24-month contract plan is a fixed £27 per month (£24.50 for existing customers) regardless of the model, with an initial £229 payment for the entry-level 16GB Wi-Fi and 3G model. The 32GB model will set you back £279, while the top-of-the-range 64GB version will cost £379.*These will all get you a 2GB data allowance and a 1GB Wi-Fi allowance, while straying outside of the bundle will cost you £15 per 1GB of data.
Want to buy your 3G-capable iPad outright? That’ll cost you £499 for the 16GB model, £569 for the 32GB and £645 for the 64GB, and you’ll want one of the accompanying data plans.
These start from £3 per month, which will get you 250MB of data. Next up is the £7.50 per month plan, which will snag you 500MB of data and 1GB Wi-Fi allowance. The premium deal sees you paying £15 a month for 2GB of data and 1GB Wi-Fi allowance.
If you really don’t like the thought of taking out a contract for your iPad 2, but still want that go-anywhere 3G connectivity, you can just buy one of Vodafone’s Pay As You Go micro SIMs – £5 will get you 250MB of data, which will last you 30 days.

It's a quickie and apologies if already asked and easily answered. Got to work tomorrow pm so no chance of joining a queue. I might try and order online at 1am and then try and get one early evening from, say, PC World (ha ha I hear you all say). If successful from a store can I easily cancel the online order?

Impatient, I know

That sucks dude, was going to order one online but with all the rumors of the 2-3 weeks shipping don't really want to take the chance, cant wait 2 weeks anymore, so close yet so far away!!!

Doubt John Lewis would do that as well, but if it did surely that would ease the pressure on the apple store in West Quay which could be good.

I'm thinking of getting there about 1ish i reckon, depends on my mates driving!!

Again, it all depends on stock levels.

I am hoping there will be as there is no way I can make a 5pm evening launch.

so how many of the other lauch countries for tomorrow use the same 3 pin plug as the UK?

I guess apple have a set number put aside for the UK so maybe shorter times then the rest of europe... here's hoping..
