I like that when rating music and flipping through tracks on a album, it doesn't automatically flip over and show me the cover art. This bugged the hell out of me on IOS5 it now runs like the iPhone music app and how it should be.

So far I'm digging this. Siri is funny, the Facebook integration is tight & being able to stream all my iTunes Match music OTA is freaking sweet.

Let's see now, I don't use SIRI, Facebook, chinese websites like badou, match, icloud or game center, and know that google maps are better than apple's....

Remind me again why I should update?

I didn't update either so that makes two of us. Updates are supposed to make things better not worse. ;)

Minor annoyance, but I don't like how they changed holding down the comma key to get an apostrophe on the main keyboard. Now, you have to hold it down and then swipe up to get it. Not the end of the world, and I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.

I do like the cloud browsing.

Im noticing a speed impact on both of our iPads, but the iPad 3 definitely seems to be getting hit worse. Maybe thats Apples plan all along because I was planning on skipping the iPad 4 but now I feel like getting it just for the A6 chip. :D

I've always had this feeling about Apple upgrades. Maybe paranoid, but this is one of the reasons I won't be upgrading - I want my new shiny ipad to remain as perfect as it is now.:)

Besides, I bought it mainly for reading documents and watching videos/movies, so youtube app is a deal breaker.

I see many of you dont like the ios6 on the iPad at all. It's that just for the iPad 3 or 2 also? I have updated my 4s and it's ok it's not That bad at all. The only thing is I'm not sure if im going to update my iPod or my iPad 2.

----------

I don't like that they removed the YouTube app.

And the podcast.

Can no longer connect my ipad3 to wifi at work. Apparently I am not alone. I've tried everything but a restore.

Also when I'm connected at home, dictation only works half the time now.

iPhone 4 is fine on ios6 though.

Haters gotta hate.

IMO, ios6 is more of a bug fix, with a few new apps, not quite revolutionary. I have no complaints.

They all sound like valid reasons to me. ;)

Just because an update is released doesn't me it's always a step in the right direction for everybody. While you enjoy and find value in the new update doesn't mean everyone else will. I have installed firmware and OS updates on devices in the past 30 years by working with computers and electronics to know that sometimes things are made worse rather than better.

iOS 6 is just fine with me. Runs smooth and I do enjoy the Siri integration. They really need to fix the podcast app for playlists. I do miss google maps but meh, not a huge deal for me. Apple maps will improve in time and there are cool features already that they can expand on later.

Edit: and for those that are unhappy about the lack of a YouTube app, have you tried making a safari link to your springboard? The mobile YouTube site is superior to the old app IMO.

Thanks for sharing, iOS 6 will not come near my flawless running iPad 3. :p

You sound unmovable...You have an understandable view. I felt like that. It took a few days to see that my new iPad is nw on point again. Given maps s what it is at this point and I liked the YouTube option. Other than that it operates great now. My wifi seems to have gained all its pull back fine after resetting.
Try it

I like it. I love how they added usage time to the iPad. That small feature is a big addition IMHO. One of the biggest things I wished the iPad had.

Overall it's a nice update, having Siri on the iPad is great. However it's clear that the A5X isn't cutting it anymore. A good example of this is the App Store - it's horribly laggy - cant wait for the iPad 4 with an A6X!

I think this is more an issue with the app store software itself, rather than the ipad's specs. :p

That's not the processors fault, that's the app store not functioning smoothly.

I want to go back to iOS 5, iPad has many glitches errors now that didn't exist before.

The worst part of all is the missing Youtube app, web youtube is appalling and most embedded videos wont play at all and don't directly link to web youtube and play. Hate it.

How is this a problem? As mentioned countless times, there are 2 existing alternatives - youtube's own app (which currently doesn't work that well on a tablet), and jasmine. Embedded videos are playing perfectly fine for me.

I am not really experiencing any bugs, just that IOS6 doesn't really bring that many improvements to the table for me. On my ipad3, it really works out to just siri and imessage contact integration (don't facebook, and facetime on 3g is pointless when I am using a 1mbps mobile broadband).

When I purchased my ipad 3 a few days ago it came with ios5 as soon as I turned it on I upgraded to ios6. I was having problems with streaming videos stopping but I fixed it by changing my router's wifi channel.

Did you really just ask that?

If embedded videos used to play just fine, and now they don't - why can you not see a problem?

You don't get the option to view the video in another player, you would have to know the name of the video (which you can't see on embedded videos) to go off onto another player to search for it and watch it - that's utterly ridiculous.

How many more "countless times" would you like to mention the alternatives now that have no impact on embedded videos????

Youtubes own app is an iPhone app - not an iPad app, its rubbish end of.

Mobile web Youtube:

Mobile web Youtube cannot properly display full screen.
The pause button is too near the seek bar and often when I try and pause I skip back to the start of the video.
The interface is terrible, you cant read user comments or view related videos while watching the video (like you could in the app).

Jasmine:

Looked good to start with then found the UI fiddly.
Kept getting an error that would flash up in a red bar at the top after watching a few related videos.
Gave up.

Call me picky but I used the Youtube app often and now its gone and we are left with junk.

Is full screen such as issue for you? In youtube app, full screen really just means two black bars above and below the video. In the safari version, it just means there are text where the black bars would otherwise be. Is it really that bad an eyesore?

That said, I don't have an issue with embedded videos, so I have to assume it is that bad on your side?

I'm having to charge my iPad daily now, it was once every other day. Not sure why..
I miss streetview but being able to use Siri on my way driving home from work (BT headset) to add things to OmniFocus has been really handy.
There's some bugs that need sorting, such as when Siri doesn't hear OmniFocus right and asks me to tap the right reminders list to add the item to.. Hmm, not likely when driving!
