I've messed with the iPad3. Just another iPad but somehow just like all major sites say, it'll be a hit. It's useful but hearing it is getting kind of annoying.

Then you'd be under an NDA and wouldn't even be allowed to publicly state you've used one.

Supposed to help keep things hidden, leakproof, etc.
Now with wings.

It hasn't been leaked because it's leakproof.

The lack of funds to upgrade? lol You dont know me man. Its not that I dont have money to upgrade, I just dont see the point of upgrading just for a better screen. This is similar to upgrading from an iPhone 4 to a 4s. Not worth it.

It would be more like upgrading from a 3GS to a 4s. The 4 already had retina. It just lacked Siri and better antenna and faster processor. 3GS had old screen.

Oh really... Cuz that sexy camera with the extra crisp from the 5th lense
The new grophics chip that made everything look better and faster, the help and fun I got from using my new girlfriend Siri (lmao), and finally that simple satisfaction I got from showing up my wife and her 4 while my phone loaded every app, website, or do any task faster... That's nothing at all

Funny cuz she has the same stupid opinion like you that upgrading 4 to 4s was nothing

Don't talk **** just simply cuz for whatever reason you are not ABLE to upgrade.

Who cares?

I can live without an iPad for a few weeks. You could too. Survival will occur.

You're crazy....

I just bought 2 ipads(first gen) off eBay for nothing. I shall be selling them since iPad 1's still seem to be selling quite well on eBay and hopefully get enough to buy an iPad 3.

So many leaks! :D

Makes MacrRumors worth visiting tho. Looking forward to finding out the guts of this thing still.

arn should send out an invite with the finger pointing at '5' and conduct a media event tomorrow :)

LOL @ people complaining about "all the leaks." There's millions of these being manufactured by low wage workers in China. It's probably not difficult for someone to bribe a middle manager for a few hundred bucks to get some of these spare parts. And if all your info is leaking a few days before the official unveiling then you did a pretty good job of containing leaks.

The retina display is the obvious major selling point. Everything else Better camera, faster processor, battery life and even Siri would have made compelling reasons to upgrade on there own. iPad 3 is full of win!

I expect iOS 6 will have some pretty sweet tricks to add to this as well.

The retina display is a MAJOR selling point, and the main reason why I've given up my iPad 2. Hopefully the OS will be overhauled to take advantage of all those extra pixels and potential processing power.

Having used WP7 for about three weeks now, IOS feels ancient with its poor integrated and everything buried in apps. It would be nice to be able to get news headlines, weather info and other tidbits without having to open and close apps all the time.

homeboy, interesting what you say about WP7. I have been hearing only positive things about the metro UI. It is interesting that WP7 is not selling great and carriers are not pushing it either. Do you think the public will embrace that metro UI in preference to the iOS UI? Just curious.

Coming from an iPad 2, the retina display is the selling point here.

If it will be the same iPad with more resolution I'm out. When I bought the iPad 2 was because I want a faster processor and the cameras. I give a damn about resolution displays and siri. I seriously hope something better than the iPad2.

Holy hyperbole Batman! The 2012 U.S. budget is approx $3.7 trillion . I don't know of any company in the world with an advertising/PR budget even 10% of that amount.

More to the point if advertising and PR was as completely brain washing as you contend we'd all be driving Chevy Volts and clamouring 3D TVs. Advertising/PR is effective, but as the saying goes, you can't polish a turd. People buy stuff they like.

Oops, I meant marketing/PR/Advertising/"information" budget, not the entire thing...I have read it tops out at about $5-6 billion FY2011, but I can't find my source at the moment, sorry! The Armed Gorces for example, had a $1.37 billion ad budget FY2011.

How is nobody being arrested for insider trading for all of these leaks?

If you work for a publicly traded company or a supplier of one, I was under the impression that the SEC could charge a leaker with insider trading even if the leaker did not themselves actually execute trades based on that information.

I think this stuff is getting way out of hand. Rumours are one thing but this goes way beyond vague rumours.

The iPad 3 is also rumored to have an updated Retina Display that will be a 9.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. This device will double the resolution of the iPad 2, making it the best screen to be released on any electronic device to date.

How's living under that rock treatin' ya, pal? ;)

Yea we know the rear casing is .8mm thicker. But doesn't the bezel in the ipad2 stick out further than the aluminum case, and it looks like the bezel doesn't stick out as far in the ipad3

Maybe it's because the iPad 3 doesn't have all the parts in it, and it wasn't glued together by Asian slaves.

well... THAT is rude

I'm on your list , sire.

Aple controls most of their news

I agree with those that believe that Apple controls what is leaked. They need something that costs them little in money but give them a lot of air or text time.

It will be interesting to see how many of these "leaks" are real & how many were given to hide what is really happening. If Apple really wanted to control all like they have in the past they need to purchase all of their manufacturing partners.

Just like the changes in iOS hardware can be dtermined by what hardware is awailable at the time, the full sized Macs are even easier to tell. Like the possible upcoming Mac Pro, we already know what processors are to available, the video cards, hard drives & other things like USB3 & Thunder Bolt.

Now if they only use enough of them in both areas. How else can I replace my 6 display Mac Pro with the iPad3 if Apple only uses the A5 processor. That would mean dual 8 core 4 GHz iPad3 models. They will be so fast that they will give the answer before we enter the question. That then would mean that we do not need to enter anymore data.

If the iPhone 5 rumours were to go by, these parts are nothing like what we're going to see.

For iPad to iPad 3 = Worth it.
For iPad 2 to iPad 3 = Depends what you use the iPad for.

Awesome product. This looks like a winner. I am definitely getting one soon.

Interesting.

How would the cases fit if the iPad 3 is more tapered?

Don't know what the down votes are for here?!

I mean, sure, the video shows a bunch of covers fitting the supposed new iPad whilst stating that it has a more tapered design.

I'm not saying they're lying or anything, but it does seem a slightly strange thing that it's possible to say "The new iPad is a different shape but all the old fraction-of-a-millimeter-precise covers still fit perfectly"!?!

How, exactly, is that possible? They're either tight/loose in parts OR the iPad3 is EXACTLY the same shape. There is no physical way for both statements to be true!!

My biggest concern is that this "iPad HD" was rumored for the fall of last year ready for the 2011 holiday season while the real iPad 3 was to come around this time now. Regardless it's always hard to justify upgrading a perfectly usable device that has no problems 1 year after introduction. Regardless Apple devices are always easy for me to sell, and the though of a Retina display on an iPad is awesome to me!
