Look at the cutout for the Apple logo's stem. Now look at an Apple logo. The cutout is too big and the stem appears attached to the apple. And notice a couple of shots in the video show an iPad 2 case with the real logo and then you see the attached stem in later shots again Clearly another fake!

I really hope you were just being silly. I would hate to think you really think what you said is at all accurate. Please say you were just kidding or explain what you are talking about if you were indeed serious.

my girlfriend thought i was watching some shady hot video site because of the music. :)

Apple might consider iPad 3 leaks a bit shady. I however, consider them HOT! So maybe you are watching some "shady hot video". :p:D

"...companies don't care about corporate secrets any more. ..."

You have to be kidding. The things we DON'T know about Apple products probably outnumbers what (via rumors) is/may be known by a large percentage.

"...]I find it funny how much Apple allowed this product to leak..."

Apple is possibly, and in some people's minds, definitely, the best marketing company in the world. They get a million dollars (not much for pr, actually) free publicity just by opening a store, dropping a hint about an upcoming presentation, leaking/not leaking possible components of an upcoming product.to the extent that SkyBetUK took bets on the iPad 3 features...

"Predictions for a retina display seemed downright certain, with 1/8 odds for and 9 to 2 against. More fanciful features, like a Thunderbolt port (5 to 1 for, 1/50 against) and an SD card slot (12 to 1 for, 8/13 against) got better returns if they actually panned out. Interestingly, most of the participating gamplers believed that the iPad 3 wouldn’t..."

I think they know what they're doing.

Apple also learned that their worst nightmare, a working prototype of the next gen model device lost and found and blogged about, only a few short months before release, doesn't actually hurt them in any way. The iPhone 4 was the most successful product launch ever at that time.

So while Apple does hold the actual details secret, there is much about a product that can be accurately assumed, and in the run up to announcement, leaked, without any negative consequence...just the opposite.

Music

The music must have been ripped straight from pro evo - very annoying.

I really, *REALLY* don't understand people like this.

You sold an iPad 2, to buy an iPad 3?

Why?

What is your problem? What part of this doesn't make sense to you?

He sold his iPad 2, because he knows the iPad 3 is incoming, and will be a lot better than the iPad 2. The iPad 2 is going for $400 and up on eBay, which will END on March 7th, when the iPad 2 drops in price by $100 at the keynote. Not only is now the best time to have sold your iPad 2, but the amount of money you make on the sale almost pays for a new iPad 3. If he's had the iPad 2 for a year, thats incredibly great return on investment, and smart use of available funds.

I did the exact same thing last week.

So just WTF is your problem??

I still dont get the smart cover. It's got to be the worse possible option for a case. The second you put that iPad down, the back of it will be scratched to pieces!

You cant beat a third party front & back one IMO.

1) Stick 4 small felt pads on the back of iPad.

2) Place iPad on any surface without worrying.

3) use last flap on Smart Cover behind 2 of the pads, thus making cover actually useful.

Tried and tested on iPad 1 and now iPad 2. Just works ;)

Of course it is a "controlled leak". :apple:

part of me thinks its all a bit of a red herring, perhaps the pieces we are seeing are for a remodelled iPad 2, perhaps 2S with larger camera and same price point and the 3 will be something a little more different, retina and larger camera and other changes with a slightly bigger price tag.

I'm gonna go ahead and call ******** on this. Isn't the new iPad suppose to have a slightly different backing than the current model? I'll believe it when I see it.

For secretarial work, dictation of mail and documents would be a beautiful killer-app.

The "administrative assistant" killer... but think of the coffee!!! (And yes, I could have been much, much cruder...)

(Prepares to receive bricks from administrative assistants worldwide...)

Let me sumarize your post:

"Because he wanted to." :D

But I personally am going to wait until I have an iPad 3 in my hand before I let the iPad 2 go, even if it costs me $100. With the way Apple iDevices crush online web site ordering, that "ships next day" could easily become "ships in two weeks" if you have ordering problems on the website.

Who cares?

I can live without an iPad for a few weeks. You could too. Survival will occur.

Ok so if you're worried about the back then get a back cover too
Mine does a fine job of protecting my SCREEN which is WHAT IT'S MADE FOR
And in my opinion I'd muh rather have scratches on the back then the screen

Worst. Song. Evar.

Very glad they're keeping the iPad 2 design; it feels great in hand, and coming from an iPad 1 it'll still be new to me. Really hoping to see them double performance over the iPad 2 though, which would make the iPad 3 4x faster than the original iPad.

Not worried about scratching the back. Every one I know has their iPad in some monster case, completely defeating its thinness and lightness. Let the back get scratched, it's not that big of a deal.

If the iPad 3 doesnt have a quad core CPU and improved graphics chip, I dont see how it could compete with other upcoming tegra 3 tablets. The casual users, which make up most of the iPad's market, will ofcourse lap it up regardless, but as tablets are being geared more towards gaming these days it would make people think twice. Same for the power users.

I can see something like the new Transformer Prime due out in a few months as being some serious competition in both the business end and for gamers. The screen res may take a slight hit, but if it ends up being the case of quad core prime vs dual core ipad 3, the answer is simple.

Yes the screen resolution might be amazing, but if it doesnt have the power behind it, it could end up being a laggy mess.

Also, I'm not entirely sure why I am typing something constructive on here, as it will most likely be downvoted into oblivion due to me questioning Apple. But oh well, I was bored anyway.

An you never will, so stop trying.

Some folks have more disposable income than others and do not need to sacrifice wants for needs.

Well, not defending the poster of your quote nor attacking your post.

People, even with disposable income, still have their own priorities.

Time is a commodity that is in sparse amount, especially for parents of
young kids (talking about myself here). I'm sure I would spend a lot of
time on the device, so chores, house work, hell, even the kids would loose
priority.

This might be a flaw of mine, but I know myself.

That said, I didn't feel the pull for an iPad 1 nor an iPad 2...
The iPad 3? Hell yeah!

I'm a little stoked about the new iPad. I'm currently using an iPad first gen and and thinking that the jump to the 3 will be similar to me moving from my first gen iPhone to the iPhone 4 which was like leaping off a cliff in terms of performance and such.

Is it the 7th yet?

Would love to know how you used the Smartcover on the iPad 1 :D

I rarely put my down flat. but when I do it's typically either 'closed' and face down or open with the smart cover under it to be out of the way. I used to worry about putting it in my work bag but then the boss got me one with a pocket just for the iPad so nothing scrapes it.

Exactly, so you're putting it on its protected side, not its bare side. Why people suggest the SC doesn't protect the iPad from scratching up when you put it on the table is beyond me!

I can't wait to get my hands on one if these. It'll be nice upgrade from my iPad 1 (which will be going to the wife).

However, that video music would have been more appropriate for the iPad 2 leak/launch, as it sounds like it came from "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo". ;-)

The current a5 already has been shown to out perform the tegra 3 in a lot of tests. I'm sure the a5x or a6 will do just fine.
