However, unlike the issues with the iPhone 4/4S, it's really hard to improve on the design of the current iPad 2 itself. That's why most speculation that the iPad 3 will look almost like the iPad except for the new high-resolution screen and new internals are probably true. Hopefully, Apple sees it fit to improve the Wi-Fi antenna, though (the iPad 2's sensitivity is not that great, as I found out at my brother's house when it has difficulty finding the Wi-Fi signal more than 25 feet from the router).
I'm really curious to find out hoe iPhone apps will look on ipad3. 4x scaling will look hideous at best. I'm still puzzled why current iPad scales down and up retina-optimized iPhone apps.
I would assume that if they are going to continue scaling iPhone apps, they would scale the retina artwork. Same 2x scaling that we have now.
this is also one of my biggest concerns, how will the scaling work? maybe resolution switches back to 1024x768 when you load an app that size? which is probably highly unlikely.
