The iPad Air 2 will be the most insignificant and incremental update ever in the iPad lineup, unless you care about Touch ID or coming from an older gen iPad. iPad Air owners have very little incentive to upgrade, unless it comes with 2 GB RAM. Then we are talking!

Even if it has 10GB of ram there's no guarantee it will stop the tabs from reloading. To date it's only been a theory as to why the tabs reload. Yes, the lack of ram is a possibility but nothing has been proven as fact.

And yes, the Touch I.D. alone (for me) is a big deal. In the near 2 weeks I've had my iPhone 6 Plus I've quickly grown accustomed to using the Touch I.D. I can even log into my Etrade account using it. When I switch over to my iPad Air it feels dated now since I have to type in my password. Will I upgrade? No. I'm not the "Gotta have the latest, Gotta have the latest" type of customer that upgrades every year. That's excessive and in many ways stupid.

Never understand why people expect a matured product category to have a lot of innovation.

It's always more memory, faster processor, better camera, storage, retina etc.

Then no matter what the same complaints!

I'm still confused about the mute switch rumors. If the device is thick enough for the headphone jack why would the mute switch need to go?

Surprisingly 7mm thick and no one has mentioned that lack of protruding camera lens?

There will be a 16GB iPad because there are people that will buy it. Just because you want something different doesn't mean Apple shouldn't offer what you don't want.

My son's school uses iPads and they are all 16GB.

If they are a shared device and nothing is stored locally besides the approved apps, then anything above this storage size is overkill. Their school has moved to a Google Classroom environment so everything is now "virtual."

Now, for many general consumers, I agree. However, with the use of cloud services/storage and the availability of wi-fi in many places, it is beginning to be a harder sell.

Still no "If it doesn't have a mute/lock switch, I'm not buying it" comments? Amazing!

No Flash on the back to help the Camera capture better images indoors / evening. :(

No Stereo speakers pointing towards the user :(

Oh well. One day, one day.......

Agreed.

16g is just waaaay to small for the iPad. You would spend more time mananage the memory than anything else.

Yep, I have a 16g iPad 3. I have to delete apps to manage space. I can't upgrade to iOS 8, without erasing most of them. I will probably get the new iPad Air but go with 64g.

not interested as long as it still runs an OS that was made for a 3.5 - 4 inch device without any features actually taking advantage of the screen size

his school sounds awesome ... over here we barely get new BOOKS for classes, some are well over 5 years old ... i remember when i was still in HS there were some math books still using DM instead of Euro and the teacher was like "just imagine a € sign next to the number". i guess thats the price you pay for having free education over here ^^

I think it's looking doubtful that Apple is doing a design update on the rMini this year.

Not necessarily. We didn't see any full iPhone Plus prototypes before the announcement, yet it launched the same day. Apple may well release an updated mini with Touch ID and the A8 in the same case it's in right now.

Yawn.....

So it's got TouchID and 2GB RAM standard.

Things it should have shipped with last year when it came out.

Exactly, I dont need more than 16GB ipad, while I do need at least 32 GB iPhone...
