Some of you guys are just so dramatic when it comes to these things! LOL!

Having had iPads 1-4 and used my Wifes iPad Mini, I don't think I am. None of them have behaved like this. Retesting the iPad 2 it does have a little vibration but the volume has to be up and even then it's minimal.

From the comments here and elsewhere it appears that most iPad Air 2's are this vibrating noticeably and a few which aren't.

It vibrates like crazy, looked at a few instore, volume very low and it would satisfy a lonely housewife it was vibrating so much.

I guess everybody needs to make their own conclusions about this. I will probably buy one today and see. But I get the impression a lot of comments in this thread here are from Air 1 owners that want to convince themselves that their Air 1 is better than Air 2 and there is no need to upgrade.

Except the vast majority of negative reports are from those who actually made the decision to upgrade, bought the Air 2, had the opportunity to experience the issue, and then took it back. I'm not convinced it's the Air 1 owners who are trying to convince themselves of anything here..

iPad Air 2 sound vibrating!

Take of your mittens mate, its there for sure!

I didn't say it doesn't vibrate. I said it isn't a big deal. Read it again.

It isn't a big deal. Really. Go see for yourself. I didn't order this online, I went there, tested it, poked and prodded the thing before I paid for it. If I didn't like it I would've bought a MacBook.

It's an awesome tablet.

You guys have such delicate sensitive hands, it's embarrassing.

It is very hard to explain. But anyone can go to the Apple Store, pull up a movie trailer, like the Hobbit trailer, and turn the volume to max. Then you'll see. It will make the entire back vibrate

Does it bother me? No. It is fine. I'm not going to watch a 2 hour movie holding up the iPad. I'm also not going to blast music at full volume while using it.

For me it is a non-issue just like the screen thing is a non-issue. The screen thing isn't even there.

----------

Tell me then how many tablets vibrate like this when playing sounds.

I'm going to guess all tablets this thin vibrate when the volume is at full blast. Even my 9mm LG phone does it depending on the video or music.

Next time I'm at the mall I will try all the latest tablets, blast the volume and let you know the exact make and model.

Virtually all the posters reporting this have made it very clear that this happens at very low volume and is nothing to do with "blasting" the speakers. Seems to me you're ignoring this very deliberately, I wonder why.

Im holding one right now. What do you want me to say?

I already said that it vibrates. What else do you want. How can I satisfy you? Low volume high volume. It vibrates IT VIBRATES!!!! Oh my god. Run for your lives!!. I can't take it..

I'm telling you it isn't an issue. I'm also telling you to stop listening to people and go try one for yourself.

Seems quite natural to me. Even my car door and windows vibrate if I turn the speakers all the way up. It happens with sound.

Yeah, because that's a good analogy. My goodness. Please.

You're telling everyone it's not an issue so therefore it isn't? I see. Thanks for clearing that up for everyone then. We did all go try one and found the vibrating and feedback to be most obnoxious and unacceptable. That's what we are telling you. Glad that's sorted out. Enjoy your device.

EXACTLY! Thank you for a clear example for why this is such a big problem. Apple doesn't make low end products.

Apple has long been considered as the "luxury vehicle" of the tech industry and both the company and its users have standards that aren't (and shouldn't) be so easily compromised. This is an issue that should be resolved, not excused or downplayed by comparing it to products of a lower class.

I would sum it up - every air2 vibrates even with low volume - depends on your sensitivity, if it is issue or not. For me it us - no buy, will buy air1 and wait another year.

Why? I think the answer is easy: Steve now is not with us.

Really, this stupidity again.
Forgot about mobile me, ipad 2 blacklight bleed, antenna gate, maps etc?
Give it a rest with the damn Steve would have, could have, should have and maybe come up with something new, that's useful.

I move to close this thread as either it is a case it doesn't bother you so it is a keeper or it does and you live with it regardless or return it.

It is present, that much has been established. The rest is up to the individual.

Mods?

Yes but no Apple 'issue' thread is complete without a Steve would never allow this comment.

What's hilarious is that every person complaining about the speakers said they will buy and air 1 instead. So apple still gets your money either way. Hah!

Not going to make one bit of difference to them. If people want to take a stand then you don't buy any Apple tablet. They have 5 to choose from now. They will be happy if you buy any of them.

Next year people will be back here complaining about some other subjective issue/non issue.

It really is surprising to see people have such sensitive emotions yet so very little physical sensitivity.

You admit the issue exists but the thread that discusses it shouldn't?!?!? What exactly do you want these Apple discussion forums used for if not to discuss Apple products?

Lol. Beat dead horse? Well OK then just wash rinse and repeat.

...and ignore. The MR community and board mods shouldn't have to cater to your inability to avoid threads you have no interest in.

MacRumors doesn't need modding in order to dictate what threads people should participate in.

You just made me realise. The people with problems are probably your typical 'computer nerd'. Small pasty arms that don't have the strength to hold the new iPad. Further, for the people that are complaining the strongest about this issue, what % of time do they actually use the iPad Air 2's speakers. I would take a bet it would not be much. Speakers can't be used in the library, nor in class, too much ambient noise on public transport to use them there, hmmm... oh that only leaves at home.

I think this topic has been covered to dead now. All that there is left to add to it is if the rumours about Apple has reduced the vibrations with a change to their production are true.
