yes they are.. as everyone knows, give apple product bad review and you are on blacklist.. btw no one here is saying that iPad air 2 is bad product per se, majority here is saddened by construction flaws (vibrations, screen distortion) that are crippling (for some of us) otherwise perfect tablet

Of course here comes the bias ********. Only took a minute.
Screen distortion? Really? Touch your TV, windows or Mac screen with a bit of force and see what happens. Are some of you people new to the world of LED panel?
Also my iPad air doesn't really vibrate on 10-70% volume. If I play a song with a heavy bass at 70-100% volume I can feel the bass at the back of the iPad, which is expected. I can also feel the screen vibrate a tiny amount on the home button side. Certainly not as dramatic as people claim and surely not a deal breaker.

Mine don't in my Lexus because the speakers are good quality (low THD) and most importantly, the area around them is well insulated plus the speaker sits in an isolated subframe. Lower frequencies are omnidirectional vs higher frequencies which is why the vibrations are felt on the end opposite the speakers with the Air 2.

What's your point? It isn't bound to happen if the solution is well designed and worst case it can be minimized.

General comment
-It's ridiculous people are trying to force their perception on others in this thread. If you paid the money and are bothered or disappointed that is your right, especially considering Jony Ive's incessant monologues on intelligent design. Personally it bugs the ***** out of me and I'm even more irritated I sold my 128GB iPad Air 1.
-If you don't own one and think Apple can do no wrong, shut it.
-If you do and think this is a nonissue, great, speak up but keep in mind that's your perception. Don't tell others they're wrong if they disagree.

You are correct, the door is a flawed analogy for the iPad. In this case, it is not a PART of the Air 2 vibrating, but the entire device.

If your Lexus were light enough in relation to the output of the speakers, it would bounce on its tires and vibrate. This is the condition for the Air 2. The speakers have enough power to vibrate the physical container. To prevent this, you can either add mass to the physical container for the speakers (tape lead weights to your iPad) or reduce the vibration (and thus the output) of the speakers.

So, you see this as a new norm for iOS devices? They aren't going to make the iPad any heavier or thicker (the 3/4) was an anomaly. Other this is the new norm or the next gen will have lower quality speakers.

Not expected. Didn't feel bothersome vibrations for tha last 5 generations of iPads.

Or Apple will change the design and maybe offer front facing speakers...

Exactly. All these reviews cannot be trusted. Trust your own judgement, not some kind of blogger playing the journalist posting a review of a device.

Seems quite natural to me. Even my car door and windows vibrate if I turn the speakers all the way up. It happens with sound.

Its one thing turning it all the way up...but in case, (the three stores I went to) all the ipad2 vibrate at low volume. UNACCEPTABLE.

Interestingly enough I'm finding there is some minor vibration in my iphone 6 plus. Certainly not as bad but it's there!

There is always some kind of vibration on such a small device. This isn't a problem normally, but on the Air 2 it is extreme and definitely much worse than any other iPad out there. I returned mine and I don't care anymore about it. For me the iPad Air 2 doesn't exist..
I sent a mail to Tim Cook asking him to send me an iPad Air 2 without the vibration problem. I guess I shouldn't expect anything...

"Design isn't how it looks, but it's how it works" - Steve Jobs

Ironically Apple forgot what Steve said.

LOL. Why would anyone touch TV or Macs screen? Don't you see difference? Touching TV/Mac screen is not real world usecase whereas touching iPad/iPads screen and back is ONLY real world usecase for this item. Got it?
And, compare previous generations of iPad with Air2 - almost impossible to see any distortion on Air 1 - with Air 2 (on some of myself tested units) distortion was there even without any pressure applied, just holding device.

All 11/12 iPad Airs I held in hand vibrated significantly on lower volumes than 70 percent. 50 percent and it was vibrating like real sex toy:) Stating that THIS in not an issue is arrogant, if you don't care fine, but for many of us THIS really is issue and for me personally it is deal breaker (and flagrant example of poor design)... enjoy your new iPad.

Don't be so gullible. You really think a "professional" review site that's supprted financially by Apple or Samsung for that matter will ever post anything negative about their devices? Cmon, you can do better than that.

There are complaints all over the place about this issue being reported by ACTUAL customers in real world use case scenarios who live with the device for a while versus the review guy who plays with it for ten minutes and posts their eh hem "unbiased" review. Uh huh. ;)

Yea and all these 1000 or so 5 star rating/reviews are all best buy customers paid by Apple. Not many complaints there. Don't like the air 2, Dont buy it. Obviously a large majority love it.

Yes of course bias there, payed by Apple here, blacklisted there....
Boring.

Like the million ACTUAL costumers that complained about bendgate or antenna gate?
Of course I won't believe the biggest tech review websites around but rather a few forum posters because they clearly represent everyone or have more knowledge. iOS 8 has been pretty sweet for me but surely some complaints in forums, that represent the minority, must mean its not. Cmon, you can do better than that.
The screen distortion is just the new bs that's around. My iPad air 2 does not distort when I grab it or use it in a normal way, whoever says otherwise is lying.

My iPad mini retina vibrates too at full volume. Not nearly as noticeable as the Air 2, but it's there. It's almost like people are looking for reasons to dislike their shiny new iPad.

I talked to Apple tech support about it today and they told me straight up that it's not supposed to vibrate like that and I should send it in for a repair or return it to the store. Seems like a bug, not a feature.

Yet another corporate apologist attempting to gloss over an issue by mis-stating it. The Air 2 vibrates at 3 bars. Nowhere near full volume. That is why it's a problem.

My iPad Air 1 vibrates at higher volumes, it has never bothered me however. Some of you I think should realize that noise causes vibrations. If you really can't handle it, return it. I am sure someone else will buy your iPad for a pretty sweet Open box deal :)

Good luck with that ShawnBuddy! Kudos though for opening up a support case and not just complaining here. #

You won't find a single iPad that doesn't vibrate bad. Even if you went to the factory in China..

I own an iPad Air 1 and 2. The 1 doesn't vibrate at its highest volume to the degree that the 2 does at low volumes. It's the vibrating of the screen that's the real issue for me (and I suspect for others). It makes for an incredibly unpleasant usage experience.

Yes, but the point is that for many people in this thread the vibrations are noticeable at low volume like 2 or 3 squares & up.

If it was at only at high volume I'd be fine with it.

Typing this from the new one after doing an exchange. It vibrates too. Maybe a little bit less than the old one? But still there for sure. Oh well.

I bought an external Bluetooth mini speaker. Guess I'll use that. I can't do headphones at all because I have tinnitus and they aggravate it.

Take your fanboy nonsense out of this thread please. Holy crap Apple fanboys make this forum hard to read. Allow the adults to actually discuss the pros and cons, please.

Then don't read it......Whats also hard to read are people who whine and whine like its the end of the world. If its that big of a deal breaker then move to another platform. Enjoy the garbage!!
