Maybe you really can't read. I stated that there are uniform displays.

Meaning, people do not have to settle for uneven displays. Let's see how many people drop in here and say their iPad is perfect, will you still claim that those with uneven display should just take it because WilliamG says there are no even displays?

Get over yourself, you are just another apologist.

Let's see how many people in the USA bought Dodge Neons. Does that mean it's a good car? 99% of users wouldn't recognize an uneven display if you pointed it out to them. There's no such thing as a completely uniform display. Period. Close to uniform? Sure. 100%? No. You provide talk. I provide photographic proof at least. Apologist? No. Realist.

Mine is warmer on one side. It's pretty easy to see when using the keyboard. In portrait with the home button on the bottom, the right side keys are warmer than the left. Flip it 180 (home on top) and the left side is warmer. It's not a huge deal but I'm already intending to exchange because of a dust-under-screen issue.

Me too....

Well your not alone... My iPad also has a blue tint on the left edge and yellow on the right. I tried to take mine back for exchange at Best Buy, but those brainiacs claim to not see the problem and therefore will not exchange without charging me a 15% restocking fee. At this point I may just return the damn thing and wait for another batch sometime down the line. It's too bad cuz I really like my iPad.

Oh, I also get the dropping wifi issue as well. I'm kind of bummed out. :(

go to an apple store to exchange it for free.

Had a chance to play around with two iPads this weekend. The first iPad's display looked exceptional but the second one was definitely much warmer in appearance and looked downright sickly yellow at 75% brightness. Not only that but the upper right hand corner looked dimmer and dirty.

Guess Apple and LG are up to their old tricks again with poor QC and panel roulette...

Wrong. You'll see this on EVERY brand. No two panels are a like. I've said this a thousand times. In a perfect world, there'd be no such thing as panel variance.

Funny thing I thought my 16g had no yellowing then bought a 32g for my kid.
Next to each other you could see the color the new one was white blue and very clear. Sending the 16g back tomorrow.

The next one you get will do the same thing, perhaps in the opposite direction. You'll likely end up sending the 32GB version back next time.

Ipad

I bought mine at the 5th avenue store about 4 days after release. The first one I bought was completely messed up. Right side of the screen was completely messed up and it would not connect to wifi. Of course I was outraged and immediately went to return it right after I unboxed it. They gave me a bunch of BS about them not having any more, or that I'd have to come back another day...but once they saw the problem they immediately found a "hidden stash" of 32GB iPads in the back (incase Jobs drops by and wants to buy one I guess) and replaced it. They were scared about bad press on the week of its release im guessing...They said it was the first case they'd seen of a messed up screen. I posted a YouTube video of it. It's really easy to notice on a white webpage.

Man that's horrible

I don't understand why some people on this forum jump on someone who obviously has a problem they are worried about. It's amazing. Are people not allowed to be satisfied with their product? Is apple known to have 100% perfect quality items? I even think the wifi issue has enough warrant to deserve a refund. I have neither dead pixel / wifi / or this screen issue but if I did i definitely would take it back and would do it with any other brand of product

While I generally agree that some reasonable LCD panel & backlighting variance is a given in mass-produced consumer electronics, Apple's "normal range" of acceptable variance on certain products--and tolerance of poor quality displays--is bothersome. I would have never been able to accept the yellowish iPad that I saw. After my recent experiences with the 27" iMac, I'm concerned that some of the same QC issues are cropping up on what I'd like to be my next Apple purchase.

I've seen the exact same thing on my two Nintendo DSIs, several of my PSPs etc etc. It's not just an Apple qc thing, though I DO agree it's definitely a qc problem. The issue is that you'd see a huge number of LCDs being chucked away if manufacturers were to start caring THAT much.

The people here who are noticing slight yellow or blue tints on their screens remind me of people who taste wine. They notice every little nuance of the screen and can detect small imperfections that the vast majority of users can't see.

-This screen has slight yellowing in the upper right quadrant, with a descending blueish tint along the far left side.

-This wine has hints of honey and dirt, with a mouthy feel that hides the subtle earthiness.

The tint and the light leak seem to be normal, at least that's what the Genius told me when I went to exchange. He went to go check the ones in the back and said they looked the same, but still offered me an exchange. The issues are there, but a lot less noticeable than my first iPad.
