Who cares!!!! I don't see it and quite frankly I'm not going to look for it.

As mentioned before, there is not such thing as a completely uniform display and if the yellow tint is the only issue, I will take it compared to other possible issues that can happen.

The tint and the light leak seem to be normal, at least that's what the Genius told me when I went to exchange. He went to go check the ones in the back and said they looked the same, but still offered me an exchange. The issues are there, but a lot less noticeable than my first iPad.

what kind of tint/leaking issues were you seeing?

I went into my Apple store and noticed ALL of the iPads have more yellow/dirty screens on the right portions (portrait) compared to the left.

If it was really a widespread problem, it wouldn't have taken over a week for someone to post a thread about it. None of the iPads I've seen have any issues of tint or any color irregularity across their displays. While I'm sure a few people have actual problems, it's not a big deal that a return won't solve.

Not true, actually. People don't even realize how cold (blue) or warm (red/yellow) their whites are on their displays until they use something else that's warmer or colder.

I GUARANTEE you that anyone who has two iPads side by side will EASILY see the difference, and go crazy about returning one of them, whereas if you gave those same two iPads to two DIFFERENT people, neither would complain. It's just the nature of LCDs.

I've already posted pictures of my two iPads I have, and of course, still nobody listens...

Both iPads look great by themselves, fyi. Both very uniform, but clearly one warmer than the other.

Most people don't care. I know I don't, and my wife is a professional photographer. I take care of her screen calibrations for her monitors. We do a lot of image work. Different color temps on a device like the iPad don't really matter unless you just want to be overly picky. Whether it's cool or warm, there isn't much variation on my iPad screen. Mine would be on the blue side though. Not a trace of yellow tint.

If all we are discussing is color temp, with no way to calibrate it or adjust it, it's worthless to worry about.

Yes, mine is yellow on the right side also

Hi!

My iPad also has a yellow/warmer tint on the right side of the screen (placing the home button at the bottom). It is noticeable, specially reading web pages with a white background. A little annoying.

I have another iPad coming at the end of the month. I hope that one will be even.

Some of you people are insane. Too bad we aren't talking LCD televisions, which have the same variations, if not more. Samsung, Sony, and the like, would tell you to go jump in the lake after one exchange. It is even stated on their users guide that it is 'normal' for all LCD screens to experience some variation.

Exactly.

Yellowing still a problem

Had one of my iPad replaced yellowing is still a problem the one on the right you can see the yellowing the left is a cool blue tone.

Ah nvm now they are coming up. I can't really tell a difference between the two. They looked angled so maybe that's why the one on the right looks off? Yellowing definitely isn't a problem compared to my launch day 3GS was.

No it's yellow the whole center of the right one is yellow, it's very yellow. You have to have 2 ipads in front of you to see how bad it is.

Sorry, but I can't see a difference either. As another poster stated, it's not even in the same ballpark as the 3GS launch.

If you don't have any dead pixels or dust under the screen, I would consider yourself lucky and call it a day.

We can't really tell when one is angled as well as the same image isn't in the same spot as the other. Get them exactly the same image on them and placement and re-take the picture so it is more controlled.

That's a bummer, man, to be constantly confronted with a yellow problem that only you can see. It's worse than having one that everyone can see.

I don't "see" yellow, but what I do notice is that the left is cooler than the warmer, right-side. Could be adjusted via brightness... no? Were they both set to the same display settings?

Is everyone's eyes not working? I can see the iPad on the right is definitely yellow a little bit, probably to bother someone that demands perfection. I am one of those guys and no doubt the OP is too. I would take it in to Apple and show them.

Yes, if it bothers you, just go to a store and show them. Have them turn on a replacement at the store and take it home only if you are satisfied.
