My pals a Genius in the Apple Store in [SNIP], they've all been told to be back from lunch before 12.45 as they are making an 'iPad' announcement and as always, they get loads of calls and people coming in to ask stupid questions.
So everyone... I picked up my iPad in the States and now I'm back in the UK. I noticed earlier in the thread that somebody said Apps are available from the UK App Store but, when I click it on the iPad, it tells me I can't access it.
Am I missing something obvious here? Or do I have to wait until the end of the month for the UK launch?

I don't know if that's true, but I'd remove the store he works in, because that's the sort of thing Apple would fire someone over.
You can download most of them through iTunes (on PC or Mac) by searching, just not through the iPad itself it seems.
Ok im now excited , i assume those who have signed up to ipad emails will receive a new email today !

I could get the 32GB and all the docks etc for 600, then by christmas when the ipad multi tasks and has some really great apps I could sell by Macbook CE and simply use the ipad to VNC to my macmini.
I reckon it will be that amount, it may sound too good to be true, but so does the 499, 599 and 699 dollar price points. Those prices are using current exchange rates, and adding VAt, so they are the most logical.

I have no idea, they have just been asked to come back from lunch early as there is a "European iPad announcement" I imagine the web site will change and emails sent out

I wouldn't trust the emails to be particularly quick... I'd monitor the apple store and keep an eye on various forums as well.

I hope they will be in line with US prices, my pal thinks there will be around £450 starting model.

The store usually has to go down half a day in advance just to change a sentence on there <exaggeration over> so shouldn't it have gone down by now if the announcement is expected at 1pm?
