God it is so hard resisting buying one from Ebay. I don't mind paying €50/60 more than the 'expected' price here.

Tempted to plop down €700 on a 64gb wifi now. If only apple released a date and price.

The fact that its looking like no pre-orders if the 24th holds true doesn't help; because in Ireland we have very few apple outlets with no official ones at all, and down here in Co. Kerry you can forget about buying it locally regardless.

The more I think about it, the more I can see eBay getting my business this evening..... must resist, must resist....

I knew I should have clicked 'buy' on that £600 one earlier ;)

(It was there for a good ten minutes, before I decided to wait until after dinner.... DOH :D )

i also keep looking and need restraint, look at the 32gb ones then are going for around £620 ins postage, kust vat to add when it come in, down side is thats another £100,

i even email sjobs@apple.com last night asking for a glimmer of hope, no joy though

Macrumouruser I'm in Westmeath and am definitely getting a 3g 64gig but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay over the odds on eBay. Half of the fun is waiting the few weeks to get our hands on one. Just think, when you finally get it, there will be a bevvy of apps well tested and reviewed. By the time we get them, we'll be a matter of only weeks away from 4.0 and multitasking as well when I believe the iPad will really only begin to mature. I don't mind waiting a while

I know your right.....

I will wait for the actual ipad. Even if it kills me :p

However I have already started downloading some 'free' ipad apps :)

This is what I've been doing. What's annoying is that I can download Godfinger for the iPad, but not the iPhone.... and there is BBC News for the iPad, but it's not available in the UK Store

waiting for the iPad is very difficult particularly if you have already spent week after week since November waiting for the new MacBook Pro updates!

True, but let's not forget that technically we've been waiting for iPad ever since the first articles years ago about the long-rumoured 'tablet mac'. Strictly speaking, the wait is very, very near to an end.

Secondly, I would be very very annoyed if Apple closed the Store right now, and opened it to reveal new MacBook Pros. Because I would seriously think they had forgotten about us. If that happened, and then the iPhone OS 4 thing as well!

One thing I really don't understand though ,is the delay with Apple announcing European prices. With the launch only a matter of a couple of weeks away, it surely wouldn't have killed them to announce the price structure at this stage.
It would at least satisfy the appetites a little

I suppose it could mean that it'll be cheaper to import, and so they're delaying to try and keep people from importing because it may be cheaper to wait ??

I think it's mostly because they're hoping the pound will drop even more against the dollar, so they can take us for even more money

I *do* think it's very poor if they go-on to talk about OS4 before they announce the pricing and release over here.

Then again, maybe we'll all be pleasantly suprised

(In the meantime, I'm making my 'best offer' on eBay... somehow, I'm guessing it may not match the seller's expectations)

Let's everybody calm down! This might turn out like the iPhone 3GS. Maybe in 'late April' we'll all know how much the iPad costs, and will be able to buy it from the Online Store.

Right, on three everyone email Jobs! 1,2... ;)

my fingers on the button man, im goina do it man, dont stop me ahhhhhhhh

I'm glad I'm after a 3G one, otherwise I would have succumbed days ago :)

I know exactly how you feel, I will wait for the 32GB 3G version... i just will...

Think the best thing to do would be to delete the eBay account. but thats not going to happen

:apple:Mike

I'm really interested in a 3G iPad, but they need to somehow figure out a special offer that when you already have an iPhone 3G(s) contract, that you only pay a bit more rather than for a whole new contract :(

Anyone here an iPhone OS developer? I have an issue with my application, and it's driving me nuts. :/ I'm pretty sure it's something simple, but I can't find the issue.

Just applying settings to Settings.bundle is stressful - it's horrible :/

I don't know why 'shipped from the UK' prices are so expensive. They could sell them at the same price as US ebayers (say $750-799 for a 32GB) and make a decent profit, assuming most are people coming back from holiday.

If there were any close to £500 for a 32GB, delivered, I'd bite. But the more they try and gouge, the longer people will wait. And the longer they wait, the closer the UK launch will be and the value/price they'll get for it will drop.

I just don't think the demand is high enough or the supply low enough for big ebay margins.

I just wish Apple would bloody tell us!
