And I have vowed now never to queue for anything from Apple on launch day!

I don't queue up to buy things. At all.

If no pre-orders are made available, I'll take my chances ordering online on the first day. I'm not getting up at some ungodly hour to take a train ride to Glasgow, to queue up in the rain, so I can get high-fived by some Graphic Design student in a coloured T shirt.

See how grumpy this is all making me.

Yeah. But If I take my macbook pro. I can sync on the train on the way home :)

just looking at eBay for the 1st time. Can't believe what some are going for!

Seen a couple of 16gb buy it now with postage at £460. Not too bad I guess. Depends if you get slapped with the VAT when it comes over.

There are quite a lot of UK based sellers now. Give it until Saturday when all those that have been holidaying in the US come back and there'll be even more.

Not too fussed about paying up towards £500, if I don't get slapped with a load of charges and a possible delay in Customs.

Sod it

had enough sorry apple I'll buy my son something else.

Not that apple care or will miss my money. But a girl got to draw the line somewhere.

There was absolutely no need for all of this lack of information.

What alternatives are there to the iPad that have more information available? The closest contender with the iPad is the HP Slate, and all the information on that is basically in two short videos.

If you wanted to buy an iPad, but now want to buy something else, the closest is the Apple iPod touch or iPhone.

I have no idea.

He needed this for school. He is 6.

And yes he did NEED before anyone says anything. He has muscle problems. I am sick of apples attitude to the rest of the world over this.

And btw. I do normally queue for hours on launch day for apple products.

I will have to find something else

he already has my old 3g. And his own itouch.

And the leaked documention which does make it a contender.

Ok, it has a 5 hour battery, but who uses their iPad for over 2 hours continously?

Seriously though

is there anything else with touch screen that has handwriting recognition that would do the job ?

Well, I think Windows 7 has that (the HP Slate), and that Axiotron Modbook has it too I think, although it uses a stylus only. You need to fork out somewhat more for the ModBook Pro to use your fingers.

I should have been quicker, there are 64gbs sitting at £770 with 3 hours left on them... could have bought it and sold it on making a nice wee profit :( to go towards an official UK one when it comes out!

The first post ive read here to really make me laugh!

I think I'd like to do that trip to the Apple store with you, I love being around people who are cynical and moan about everything! :)

You gonna use it or sell it on for a nice profit?

I will definately be using it. I've written an app for my studies that's over 2GB big . Couple that with a few TV shows and movies as well as my large music collection of which all music has bitrate of 320kbps or better.... easily over 32, but it's definately under 59GB :)

Awesome.... your welcome for the tip!
