LOL you probably never had an iPad Mini in your hands. The size makes it much more of a useful device than one of these cutting board sized iPads. The world acts like if anyone is an artist right now, but it‘s not the case. If I want a huge device, than I would buy a Macbook. I‘m using my Mini for ages for traveling... it‘s the perfect roundup to my iPhone which is dead and ready to plug in at the end of the day. Then the Mini shines... best device for laying in bed „without“ the side effect of getting cramps or wrist pain.

And still... I will not buy the new Mini because it will feature USB-C which is so stupid if your iPhone doesn‘t use the same connector. 🤦‍♂️ face palm level 1000 Apple.

iPhone 13 is rumored to have USB-C. So...problem solved.

If the iPhone 13 is indeed going to be USB-C, the MagSafe Battery Pack that just came out is lightning. So you would have a USB-C phone with a Lightning MagSage Battery Pack? kinda messy me thinks. ;);)

So do Airpods. Some, but not all, iPads uses USB-C. Apple doesn't seem to care for continuity when it comes to the connector. I wouldn't be shocked to see iPhone 13 Pros have USB-C, while iPhone 13s use lightning.

They won’t retire lightning as it’s used to charge all their headphones and that new battery pack thing.

The iPhone has to have a port of some kind. How can you transfer media to it without one? Wirelessly won't cut it when you have to transfer up to 1TB of data, as the new iPhone is rumored to have 1TB.

I don't see why they would put an M2 an iPad Mini.
They would kill a differentiating factor found on the iPad Pro.

The upcoming line should be like this :
iPad Mini + iPad Air = A15
iPad Pro = M2
I said nothing about putting an M2 in an iPad mini?

Are you the one starting this rumor? I haven’t seen any rumors about USB C iPhone 13s.

I would love it if the Mini could take phone calls as others have suggested, but yeah, that wouldn’t make sense on iPadOS. Plus it wouldn’t fit in the average pocket, so it would be for purses and satchels mostly.

I like that rumors about new iPhones and iPads are heating up. This is the exciting time of year.

I saw one "rumor" (Gizmodo I think) that said USB-C. But there are too many rumors to know for sure.

Doesn’t that already exist? Get an iPhone mini with cellular data, if you have Wi-Fi calling, doesn’t the call get connected to the iPad? And you can make phone calls also with Wi-Fi calling ? I could be wrong here. Or Google voice etc

There’s definitely workarounds like Google Voice and FaceTime audio, but no officially native phone features on iPads, nor are there full sms capabilities unfortunately.

Luckily, my family uses Apple, so I can contact them via my iPad, but there could be some people and places that slip through the cracks. Plus, two-factor authentication that involves a phone number wouldn’t work to my knowledge.

If the Mini6 has 6GB of ram then I just have 3 simple words...
TAKE. MY. MONEY!!!!
...and have a nice day, too!

I doubt this will have an A15, unless Apple is refreshing the Air to use A15 as well. So far Apple never put a newer SoC on the mini vs its larger cousin, the Air. Remember the mini 3, where Apple intentionally set the SoC of the mini 1 generation behind?

If it is A15, then imo Apple will be refreshing both the mini and the Air, and probably will also add 5G to the cellular versions.
