DROP. THE. PRICE.

I really want a mini but the price difference between the entry level iPad and the mini is too great to justify, $150 at best sale price. If you could bring that down to $50-$75 it would be a no brainer (for me)
Unfortunately that does not seem realistic at all. Best bet is to wait for the right sale and then buy it. The cheapest price was 380ish this past Amazon Prime day, but that was for the 64gb version.

Also remember the iPad 9 was replaced by the new form factor iPad 10, the new going rate for that iPad with sales is around 400, the iPad 9 and it’s sub 300 price days are numbered. Everything has gone up in price.

I’ve said this before but I truly believe that a lighter, thinner mini (titanium even) would do really well, even without all the other pro features.

Working professionals and businesses would eat them up. Titanium would make them lighter and more durable so contractors and other skilled workers who work on the road can have it on hand without feeling like they are carrying a laptop around. And they already fit nicely in a suit or doctors coat pocket.

The one thing I hope for the most is much improved speakers.

I listen to online radio a lot and wish the Mini would sound that little bit better.

Camera upgrade would also be appreciated but I don’t see that happening to a degree that would make me put my iPhone or Sony camera to the side.

I just got a cellular iPad Mini 6 & it’s easily my most used iPad. I take it everywhere. A good spec bump is an easy upgrade for me. But if not, I’m happy with this one. Jelly scrolling is non issue and I primarily use in portrait orientation. Just not speed scrolling ever that’s why. Perfect for reading & consuming various forms of media

I love my iPad mini 6. I'm not sure if I'd upgrade though, it would depend on the specs. The bigger issue is that I want to update all of my other iJunk that uses a lightning port around October, so money might be tight.

Here's to hoping for an iPhone 15 mini ;)

Apple needs to fix the display. The iPad Mini 5th gen was noticeably better plus it made it hard to justify upgrading at that price tag.

Fixed display + RAM increase and I’m in day 1.

Repeating several others here: Eliminate jelly scroll, increase base storage to 128gb, possibly add 120hz screen as a Mini Pro option.

I would also add that I didn’t enjoy the slightly more narrow screen of the Mini 6 (in portrait orientation) when compared directly to the 5. This was because the bezels needed to match the Air line, with the Pro line having thinner bezels. If a Mini Pro is released I hope the width of the Mini 5 returns.

I adore my iPad mini 6, it is my favorite and most consistently used iPad ever - and I have had all iterations at some point, since the OG iPad.

That said, on the next gen an OLED and a chip bump feel essential. Face ID and a thinner bezel would be a plus.

Also, I really wish they would do the stainless steel sides like on the iPhone 14 Pros. I am really careful with my iPads but after 2+ years of daily use and only using Apple’s own cases that leave the sides exposed, I inevitably dent all of them on a side by just bumping it onto something. I’d love a more durable material (a little extra weight is fine too me) on this device that is perfect to carry around daily.

Please don’t make it bigger, Apple.

If they were to use thinner bezels, would you choose a smaller device, or a same size device but with a larger screen?

Obviously that choice feeds into total device weight, etc.

Oooo that’s a fun question. If all other aspects sans device weight were the same, I’d go for the same size device but larger screen. I love the form factor of the current mini and have never wished it smaller - I have the iPhone Max size to fit that need. A larger screen at the current mini size sounds divine.

Im going to go off on a bit of a rant here so please forgive me... The Ipad Mini is hands down the Ipad with the upmost potential and popularity. Its the right screen size and portability and if you want the best tablet experence on the market, the Ipad mini has the potential to be it. If you go with an Air or a Pro, you might as well buy the magic keyboard case as well because those make great laptop/tablet hybrids.

The problem with the current mini is laziness. Its got the older processor (well now it is), theres no valid reason why they could not have thrown in face id into the thing, and the screen is just, bad (for an apple product).

If they came out with an Ipad Mini pro with 120HZ screen (be wonderful if it was OLED but ill take LED) and FaceID and fix the scaling issue, id buy that in a heart beat.

I bought the Ipad Mini 6 multiple times, and i tried so hard to love this thing and it just was too compromised compaired to the Ipad Pro 11 inch M2 and my Iphone 14 pro max.

Once you go faceID and 120HZ, going back to that horrid touch id in the power button and that jelly scrolling screen, its like, what are you doing apple, i know you can do so much better and you dont!

The scaling issue is something that can be fixed in software yet they cant be bothered. At least give us that! How is it widgets are bigger on a smaller screen (the Iphone 14 pro max) then on the Ipad Mini, yet its harder to read and use them on the bigger screen of the mini? I cant for the life of me figure that out and why apple allowes that!

The Jelly scrolling is distracting when you look for it, and it feels like you have a defective device when you do notice it. Not the feeling i want when i spent 800 dollars on a premium apple device.

The fingerprint sensors just feel like the worse route they could have went, they are bad compared to the old home screen, idk why they couldent put in a face id or under screen fingerprint sensor into the thing, and whats worse, is its slow!

Im so used to just lifting my iphone or ipad to use it and having my face scanned to unlock, it feels like such a step backwards.

I get it, they made the device to fit a price range, and thats fine but its such a compromized device when it could be a dream ipad for many people. Its the right size to be portable, and not overbearing. It feels good in the hands and you use it, but its just so compromized to me its so fustrating.

Apple, give me a mini version of my current Ipad Pro 11 inch and i am over the moon happy!
Oh yeah, my kiddo has practically taken over my Mini so I almost forgot about the lack of FaceID. FaceID is so seamless and it's such an annoyance going to TouchID on the power button. Like, sure it works, but anytime you use Apple Pay or need to use the keychain, ope, gotta put my dumb finger on the side of the device.

AM I crazy or is the next generation of iPad mini the perfect opportunity for Apple to experiment with a foldable screen?

I bet it won't have the jelly effect, even though Apple wants you to believe that it's normal to have it on a $500+ device.
I bet it will 😂 when Apple said it’s normal for iPad Pros to be slightly bent out of the box they changed nothing with the models that came out afterwards.

The jelly effect is visible on all iPad models, however with the others you see it in landscape rather than portrait and I think the only reason it’s more noticeable on the iPad mini specifically is due to how narrow it is in portrait orientation, allowing your eyes to scan the entire width of the screen with ease.

The iPad 10th Gen suffers the same in landscape although not as noticeable because of the width of the display and this came out as a design refresh afterwards.

I think if Jelly scrolling was improved apple would likely only refresh the screen the same way as the other models if they are able to, but I doubt it will be worth their R&D to bother. Most people arn’t too concerned over jelly scrolling as they use their iPad in landscape anyway where it can’t be seen.

The only things I want to see come to the Mini now are 120hz OLED Display, Face ID and a silver option… I doubt any of them are coming though unfortunately, I expect the exact same device with a faster chip, slight camera improvements and new colour options at most.
