If there is any jelly

I will enjoy taking my AppleCare-covered iPad Mini 6 to the Apple Store and telling the "Genius" that I want my defective screen replaced with one that behaves the same way the displays on all of the in-store models behave. 🤣

In all seriousness, though, I'm among those who isn't really bothered by the jelly scroll. However, I totally understand why it bothers others, and feel the Mini 6 should never have been released with such a pronounced screen issue.
Completely agree. The device costs a fraction of its sale price to produce. Since apples has been making these devices for over a decade now and refined it’s supply chain and manufacturing processes it would make sense issue like these do not exist. An iPad, even the cheapest iPad is a premium product. And even the cheapest premium product shouldn’t act or operate like an $80 android tablet.

Apple has been manufacturing these devices for over a decade now. They have refined designs and technology, simplified the supply chain and refined the entire process of bringing these products to market.
Even the cheapest iPad is a premium product. So there is no reason even the cheapest iPad should act like a $50 wish tablet.
It all comes down to profit. These iPads cost a fraction of their sale price to produce. So with apple accepting these issues in a market ready product are simply lazy and cheap. It could have cost $0.95 to make the display better or $1.50 to put in a slightly faster processor. But they didn’t even bother. Why? Profit.
Everyone needs to remember Apple is a business and its business is to make money. Cheaping out on a premium product is hilarious for a company that loves to say “ it just works”
Well I didn’t see “ Scrolls like an Amazon Fire 7 tablet from 2014” on the press release for this iPad.
But it’s what we got.
And at a premium price.

Hopefully jelly scrolling is reduced to a great extent. Will be nice if it comes in new brighter colours.

An iPad Mini with the 48 megapixel camera from the iPhone 14/15 Pro could potentially be a very powerful all in one content creation device - Plan, Shoot and Edit with desktop class capabilities in an 8in device. Sure, nothing is going to beat the portability of the iPhone, but I could totally see certain creators very intrigued by an iPadOS road warrior/story teller that isn’t much bigger than a iPhone Pro Max.

Especially if they allow external ProRes capture. With the mini 6 you can shoot ProRes to an external SSD with the BlackMagic Camera app and it works fine, just upgrade that old 12MP camera and add support for 4k60 ProRes.

I hope to see 512GB and a little more RAM in the Mini 7. Though I doubt it.
I think there’s also a good chance that RAM will go up to 6GB on the mini 7.
Page/app refreshes might be my only consistent frustration with my Mini (albeit I have a Mini 5, I can’t imagine Mini 6 being that much better, only having 1 more GB of ram). I don’t know if the solution is just more ram or memory swap or what, but something needs to be done. Refresh really degrades the UX. I often get a little “refresh anxiety” leaving a page or app, and often rightly so.

I'll get the first iPad mini that supports Stage Manager. It just doesn't seem future-proof to get a more expensive iPad model without it - regardless of the current condition of Stage Manager.

Did they drop? I don't see any news of them but I suppose they could drop them at 1 PM.

My daughter took my iPad mini 5 a few months ago for sketching and she loves it. I would not mind getting a mini 7. I don't use a tablet that much but I do have a few use cases for it. It's very nice in the gym when I'm on the treadmill for watching videos.

I've literally waited for ProMotion on an iPad mini ever since they introduced it on the Pro. It has come to the iPhone but still not the mini. I don't understand this.

One thing thats not mentioned or overlooked is that the iPad mini is not a budget iPad. This is a premium product. If one wants to look at what apple considers a budget iPad look at the iPad. 9th gen or the 19th gen. The Mini is more in line as a cross between the pro and the air. Notice it has a flash on the back, which the air and all the budget iPads are missing. The screen quality is on par with the Air.

With that noted, it makes no sense for the new Mini to come out with an A16 chip, last years chip on a premium product. Ideally I would prefer Apple wait and bring out the next mini when it has the revised version of the A17 ( newer and easier to manufacture ). That would make the most sense.
