Preordering the miniPad seems less smart. If you want to, go right ahead, but personally, I'd want to hold it in my hand first. This is a brand new product category, essentially. I may get one, but I'll be playing with one in a store first in a few weeks ;).

I have to agree. For me no amount of talk or fanboyism or tech specs will tell me as much as a hands on demo of the Mini. Hence I'll be waiting for a test run of the product before I decide if I want a Mini or a iPhone5.

White 32 Verizon

After 20 years as an AT*T customer, I'm finally starting the process of dropping them.

Too much incompetence. Too much greed. Screwed me over one too many times with the iPhone 5 upgrade being the final straw.

I'm no fan of Verizon. I think their ethics sucks. "Opt out in one month or we will see your usage and personal information forever." Scumbags.

But AT*T with their crappy network and customer service is simply too much to take anymore. I only wish I had jumped to Verizon with the iPhone 5.

You have a point
for people who travle the AT&T LTE is useless oversea the Verizon and sprint is much better

Debated at the last minute between the Mini and 4th Gen, and went ahead and got the iPad 4th Gen Wi-Fi 32GB...should be here next Friday.

Poor people! :D

Ordered two white 16gb minis and one black 16gb mini (2nd order under wife's apple id) for my kids (girls & the boy).

Confirmation for whites showed up at 1:05CST and says 2 weeks, black confirmation showed up at 1:08 and also shows 2 weeks but website still shows 11/2? They are Christmas presents so I guess I don't care too much but why the 2 weeks? (of course launch day deliveries are just so fun - you know I'm opening them!)

Anyone know if this display technology is the same IGZO type used in the iPhone 5? Same thing, is the iPad 4 an IGZO display? I wonder why it's nowhere to be found on either the iPad mini or iPad 4 pages on Apple.com?

Thank you in advance for the reply.

Just let me preorder an iMac so I can give apple my money and just wait for the goodness to come.

Weird feeling not being one of the pre-orderers this time.

*shrug*

It makes sense. The miniPad is a brand new device category, and until you play with one in person, you don't really know what it's like. I'm waiting until I can hold one in my hand.

Preordering an iPad 4th gen, of course, makes sense, since it's exactly the same as the last one except a couple internals.

Or an easier way is to order, play with it for 14 days in real situations rather than judging it in store attached to a security cable with people hustling to get a go, and if you don't like it send it back for full refund. Each to their own I guess.

Buy the mini, if you don't like it return it. No big deal.

I got 16GB Black & Slate + Dark Grey Smart Cover

debated for about 30 minutes before midnight on whether to buy the 16 or 32 GB iPad mini, at first I added the 32 to the cart, and after adding on the smart cover, adapter + tax I was near $550! Way too much for a iPad mini me thinks! I immediately removed the 32 and got the 16GB; total is $446 and I feel a lot better about the cost. Bought at 12:13am PST, delivery Nov.2nd! :) Basically, I know that its very very very likely the next mini update will be around July next year with retina and A6x chip, so no need to get the max storage mini right now. Best to see how the 16 GB suffices for my needs now and if I feel like I need more storage I'll know what to buy in the next iteration since at the rate that Apple refreshes, it'll only be 6 months or so!

64GB white LTE iPad mini + 64GB white LTE 4th Gen iPad W/Retina Display + red and dark grey mini smart covers as I couldnt decide between the 2, for the retina iPad I got tan leather and dark blue + AppleCare+ on both.. both ordered within 1 min of Apple Store App coming online both delivering as soon as LTE versions begin shipping

I was going to wait until later in the morning (like,,,, noon) to do the second part of my ordering but then I got a second wind or something and wrapped it all up now.

so i'm officially pretty broke now hey. if they're selling anything I didn't buy it was just an oversight

got the 32GB Wifi iPad mini in black w/ product (red) cover. And Applecare.

got the 64GB WiFi iPad 4th gen in black w/ product (red) leather cover, hope I don't get it wet setting it rackwise on a table, the color will probably run like crazy but I bought it anyway. And Applecare. Discover card now staggering around wondering what truck hit it.

I was going to get the cellular for the big iPad as I did for iPad original but decided against it. A pox on all these cell companies. I have an iPhone 4S with AT&T and so that's it if I need a cell connection when I am out running around. If I need more data then time to go home and connect to my router.

I got a wireless keyboard, I have a plastic clickety clacker but I like that latest aluminum one better so i went for it.

The iPad and mini iPad say they will deliver on 11/2. Yes!

if that's the case then we won't see them til the following monday.... neither fedex or ups deliver on black friday!

when they said at the keynote that they deliver 2 weeks later... i took to mean they would delivery on the 16th!

Yeah, the 23rd is hardly "mid november"!

Preordering the iPad 4th gen makes sense to me. Kind of a no-brainer. I wish you all luck in getting in the first batch shipped.

If you pre-order now... then you realize you do not like it.... you can take it back... if you wait to play with it in the store, then realize you want one... you might have to wait weeks for one... just saying...

Why do you guys think the white iPad Mini is selling so much faster than the Black Anodized? Could it be that we all agree that the Black will show evidence of scuffs and scratches much more easily? I love the black, but I don't want it looking like s*** after a few weeks in my bag.

Wait I thought iPad mini was overpriced and Apple was doomed?!?! Hahaha we're winning this mobile war, we're really winning!!! Apple is unstoppable now.

waiting for 2nd gen - Retina, A6 chip, LED flash

Me too. I like the idea of mini, but I currently have iPad 2 and I kind of don't see the point getting the same iPad, only smaller. I will buy the mini when it has retina.

PS - in the mean time I might get the 4th gen though...
