This is what a CSR does: reads from a script. They will parrot the company line. They aren't paid to be flexible or to think on their feet (or butts).
If your package shows it at your local facility and is not on the truck Monday, go there. Bring your tracking number and ID. I've done this many times.
Those of you who received rMinis via UPS: Was a signature -required-?
I usually get Apple stuff via FedEx, and a signature was always required. But I don't see any indication on my UPS tracking that a signature is needed. I do have the "pre-sign" option on the Apple website, but I'm wondering if it will be required.
FWIW I called Apple again to try a better refund option so I could do in store pick up. Really no option with multiple gift cards. Apple originally comped the expedited shipping and offered a case, which I declined. Apple offered cases again, this time I accepted. The rep also stated the 128GB AT&T is extremely popular and I should adjust my expectations towards the later date even though I ordered on the 12th.
Great customer service effort. This is why I always return to Apple and prefer purchasing directly from them.

Ordered mine on release day at 6am (EST, Michigan) and it just switch to Preparing for Shipment. How long does it normally take for the package from China to the US?

Normally I've gotten Apple products in two days from China. I also live in Michigan. My 16GB rMini wifi is in Anchorage currently with a delivery date of Tuesday 11/19. I ordered on launch day at 0530am/est. For some reason this time it stayed in China for 3 days. Hope your rMini ships soon!

2nd this. Think about it. It is doing them a favor of not having to deliver a package. Saves them fuel and staffing. Granted its one package but they have been paid to deliver door to door and you are doing the leg work to pick the package up from their facility. Once it's at the local sort facility it is pretty much ready to be picked up or delivered.

Me too, for my 32GB Wifi White ordered on Nov. 12. No movement at all on the UPS site. Very frustrating!
It also shows a deliver by date of Nov. 19 (Tuesday).

Still says delivery on 19th tue by the end of the day, some how i dont think it will be coming in time...:mad
Mine is too, but delivery expected for Wednesday. You may be surprised. 1) could ship tonight and once in the states UPS/Fed Ex can get any package anywhere in a day. 2) might already be in the states and just not scanned in.

Yes I completely agree but then again I'm afraid if I do anything else it'll cost me an extra day - not a good system for early pickups.
I took a vacation day for Tuesday the it supposed to arrive so I don't want to screw anything up that. I started this question on Friday midafternoon. It was already at the sort facility 15 miles up the road and I could've easily got to get it on Saturday.

Mine's been sitting in Hong Kong with no movement at all for 4 days too, with an unchanged delivery date of Nov. 19.
I called Apple Support, who checked and said it just can take some days to clear customs, and that it would deliver on time. I did not pay for expedited delivery. I keep wanting them to offer me a free case and not knowing how to ask for one, since the iPad is not late yet. Any ideas are welcome.
