Ordered 5, retuning a few...

Ordered 128GB models, AT&T, black & 2 white, and a black & white 128GB wifi.

Likely end up returning them if (A) no jailbreak releases, (B) low inventory/high demand is all hype.

Otherwise just going to keep enjoying my ever capable JB iPad 3 w/ unlimited lte data.

Need more capacity, and would like more portability but I want my JB.

Ordered a 128gig Wifi-only silver. It is processing, with a 5-10 day ship time.

I also ordered a blus smart cover. It will arrive next Tuesday,

I ordered 2. One online, then later I saw that they were available for pickup in Apple stores, so then i ordered it again. Haven't gotten the pickup notification yet so we'll see. The one I ordered for shipment is already preparing for shipment so I can't even cancel that one. Too many iPads! First world problems.

(5) 128GB Models

(2) white AT&T
(1) black AT&T
(1) white wifi
(1) black wifi

Would like to keep the two white AT&T's and make enough money back on the rest to pay for one of those two. I doubt that will happen, and likely all go back to the Applestore.

32GB wifi Retina.
Status: Preparing for shipment.
Estimated Arrival Date: LAME: Sometimes next week 20-22.

Surprised the shipping times haven't dropped yet, especially with all the speculation about poor yields of the retina display etc etc.

Gotta love speculation!

What model did you get?

And internet sales always have a few days extra when calculating shipping dates. Under promise, over deliver and all that.

I'm at 11/26-12/4 with Standard shipping for a 32GB LTE model.
*sigh* Stayed awake until midnight to order the iPad Mini (32GB Verizon) but the "Available to ship: 5-10 business days" stopped me. On vacation for the whole December so I can't take a chance on delivery time. I called the store for availability but they said their stock will be allocated for personal pickup. You can't just walk in and buy. Right now I'm checking Apple's online store every 30 minutes to see if I can do personal pickup but so far, it's still showing unavailable.

I agree that's a lame delivery date considering lots of local stores are getting stock.

I live in a major Canadian city, and even though I ordered as soon as the site updated my delivery window is Nov 22-26. So yeah, it can always be worse.

Hopefully apple is overestimating to avoid disappointment. My rMBP arrived several days before the estimated delivery window

Does it outweigh the smaller screen?

This is the million dollar question.

We're going to see people argue in circles about this, but the reality is that screen size, product form factor, and pixel density are not equals in the eyes of all consumers. IMO, it is not logical to assume that a higher pixel density supersedes either of the other two factors or vice versa.

Every consumer is going to have their own preferred formula of the three factors (or two for those that aren't in tune with the pixel density difference). Simply stating that one mix is the best and everyone else is stupid for purchasing what they did makes little sense. Unfortunately, I'm sure there will be a lot of that kind of thinking.

Really? How can the mini's display be that much better than the Air?
Placebo effect. People know that the full-sized iPad has a lower PPI than the retina iPad mini, and expect to see worse quality. There have been some interesting studies showing that visual perception is easily influenced by thought.

I remember when the retina iPad first came out, I heard about the lower PPI compared to the iPhones. The first thing I did when I saw a retina iPad was to put my phone to it, side-by-side, to see if there was a big difference. There wasn't. Sure, if I put both screens very close to my eye and look at certain colors on the screen then I can make out individual pixels more easily on my 3rd-generation iPad than on my iPhone (and even far easier on my 1st-generation iPad mini), but I'd wager that most of us don't use our devices that way.

Granted, if Adonis feels that there is a large difference then he should return his iPad Air. However, seeing as my iPhone doesn't make my iPad 3 appear deficient, I very strongly doubt that my incoming retina iPad mini will, either.

Does it outweigh the smaller screen?

I don't know if the Air will actually be used at all. Eeek... All of my cases and things are going back to the Apple Store. Sorry Apple. I will use the refund to purchase a 32gig LTE model.

Why are you buying soooo many with intentions to return?
