iPad mini iPad Mini Shipping/Tracking Thread

I have 1 mini and i Pad 4th generation and 1 smart cover for each.
I ordered Sunday night (which still stated Delivers 11/2-11/6 in Canada - which is what it always stated). I still don't have information in my support profile like I did for my iPhone 5.
Items were listed as 'Preparing for Shipment' earlier today. Same thing happened with iPhone 5. I expect it here on Friday. If not, I'm gone until next Wednesday, and will get it then.

Found mine with my phone number. Says it was picked up in Canada. To be delivered Nov. 2 by 5pm.
I hope so. My 5, came a day early and at around 10am here in Hawaii. I guess we'll see what happens on Friday!
Still no smart cover like some of you. Smart cover coming via UPS and mini on Fedex. Weird.

You guys think I should order now and wait for shipping or try to get one in-store on the 2nd? You think stock will be shorter than demand? I have 5 apple stores in driving distance...... opinion?

I would go to a store instead of ordering at this point
If you can wait then just order online. Or you can just go to your local Apple store on Friday by 8 a.m and hope the best that they will have some in stock by the time it's your turn.
IMO it's a 2 week wait if you decide to order one right now.

I would try to get one on Nov 2 at a store. Apple resellers are getting a pretty sizable stock of the iPad mini, so I would try that if you can.

Apple fans are, for the most part, iPad owners. A lot of them are not going to change, since this is not really a replacement for the big iPad. Among those who are going to get it, a lot have probably pre-ordered.
So I expect it to be a big hit, with a lot of people in the stores, but no shortage on friday !

Same boat as you. Don't worry, it will come on Friday.
I live in FL and have ordered several iPads and iPhones and I always get my tracking really late. Later than most others. They always arrive on time. UPS or FedEx, it doesn't matter. I have UPS MyChoice Premium and that normally shows tracking before anyone else, still no iPad mini tracking though. My Smart Cover came today and I can say the iPad mini is smaller than I expected.
* Of course, I am only referring to products ordered early enough to be quoted launch day delivery

Looking at the UPS tracking, of the order referenced as iPad. 16lb as someone else said.

Yeah, I think they put the iPads into individual boxes with shipping labels, then stuck them all in a box. But only just like 20 units. They were shipped with Second Day Air.
They're sitting at the UPS hub now, it's just too late for them to go out and deliver, but I'm pretty sure they'll be going out first thing in the morning.
That would make sense... I live near Orlando and there are 2 of those 16lbs packages there. In my past experience with Apple shipments, my package has NEVER gotten this far (aka Orlando) until the night before delivery. It has always sat for a day or two in PA or some other state north of here being held until Thursday night (for a Friday delivery)... I just hope you're right!
