Work issues me a Mini and it's honestly a fantastic e-Reader.
I have a really old Kindle (over a decade old) and I'm thinking about buying the next mini to replace it. Worried about using a LCD (or OLED) over e-ink, though.

Except for the AVP. And the Mac Pro and the HomePod mini, probably. If the Apple TV gets updated next spring as well, then it looks like all devices will be updated during a 12 month period.
While I certainly wouldn’t mind it being cheaper, I think it’s a good investment given its relative longevity. I’m still using a 2019 iPad mini 5 and will probably use it for 2-3 more years.Just make it cheaper and give it slightly more storage.
The Mini would be an excellent reader and media device for the commute and the occasional business trip, but it's just too expensive for that.
Supply-chain rumors say OLED is coming to the mini in 2027.Imagine an iPad mini Air with tiny bezels, 8.9", OLED, M2 chip.
I would pay a premium for that, maybe $699.
Yes and yes, in the same way all iPads do.does the Mini do iPhone apps? And mobile websites?
I actually prefer the Mini to the Kindle for reading e-books. The screen is far more adjustable, and it is faster, especially on searches and looking up dictionary entries. Of course the battery life is shorter, but at least for me, it's not a concern.I have a really old Kindle (over a decade old) and I'm thinking about buying the next mini to replace it. So you do see the appeal for people who don’t have a 15PM and iPad Pro?I don't see the appeal. I have a 15PM Nd iPad Pro. Mini just seems unnecessary.
Only if you set it to. You can adjust brightness (and color) to match that of an e ink screen. It’s just that most people don’t think to.which causes more eye strain? Kindle is e-ink , ipad blasts light into your retinas
Why give it a 17 pro chip can’t they just give it a A18 like the iPhone 16 lineup?

ngl, my ipad air 4 is from like 2020 and its as good as new. Fast and snappy. Is there anything worth upgrading to newer models? (if you are not doing 4K video editing on device)
My favorite iPad. No reason to update my mini 6 but still cool that it’s getting some love even if it’s a spec bump.
Shrink the massive bezels please.
Same for me (Mini 4 vs Paperwhite Kindle). I use mine in darkmode with maybe 10% brightness setting and it's so much more comfortable, text is super crisp with more text on page. Really looking forward to the Mini refresh to grab a replacement.I actually prefer the Mini to the Kindle for reading e-books. Mini is my most used device. Small enough that you don’t ever hesitate to pick it up and start using it, but big enough for decent consumption and light productivity. My phone stays docked at home and my bigger iPad only comes out when I need heavier productivity. Great to see the Mini maintaining a place in the lineup.

I want it to have double oled and nano texture. Then it could truly be an outdoor ereader.Just make it cheaper and give it slightly more storage.

That would be such a welcome addition. Along with true split screen multitasking the way Samsung allows on the S24 Ultra. While I’m here: iPhone screens are now big enough (think Field Notes-sized) that it makes sense to finally include Pencil support. Would make a nice differentiator for the Pro line. I think I’d prefer/use an iPhone Pro/Pencil combo more than my iPad mini/Pencil combo, if not just because an iPhone is easier to carry than an IPad mini. It’s that whole “the best camera is the one on you” approach. And if the Pro line offered Pencil support, I would very likely opt for my first iPhone Pro Max. And this is why an iPhone that expands to an iPad mini-sized device has my attention. And I don’t think I’m alone.
