Did anyone who as got 'preparing for shipment' order a smart cover too? I've still got 'processing'

32GB black with dark grey smart cover.

Just a little note for anyone considering getting it engraved, it seems it must put it back a week or two. Mine says 'delivery, 15th Nov.' Im not fussed, just thought i should share :) I cant wait to get it!

I ordered the 64gb black with dark grey smart cover at 8am this morning and mine is 'preparing for shipment' and showing delivery as 2nd Nov.
 
Looking up the Serial Number i've got, my iPad Mini that is coming was made 2 weeks ago ( Week 41 ) and strangely was assembled not in China but at Foxconn in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

I preordered the iPad 4 at 8.01am as soon as the store was active online on friday. However I totally forgot that it was my mother's birthday on the 2nd so I thought it would be a good idea to pick her up a iPad Mini as a gift, however when I checked back later that afternoon I saw that in order to get a iPad mini you now have to wait up to two weeks, which I dont want to do. I was wondering if other stores such as John Lewis, Curry's, PC World or even Tesco will be stocking the device on the launch day, as I am not really keen on standing in line during the early hours of the morning to pick up an iPad Mini unless thats the last resort!

Extremely unlikely, Apple list it as available at Apple Retail on the 2nd, no mention of any other authorised sellers, and even the websites for the other sellers like PC World, Argos etc are still at "register your interest" stage.

Tesco don't even have a mention of the Mini yet.

ARGH! Looks like I'm going to have to queue up at the Apple Store then :mad:
 
Is anyone downgrading from an iPad 3? I've read that the iPad mini screen is better than the iPad 2 as it has more pixels but I suppose I'm going to see a big difference with it not being retina? That's the only concern I have although not much I can do now as the ipad 3 is now sold and black iPad mini on order!
