We almost need to have this and the "want your preordered iPad mini LTE shipped faster" thread merged. But I'm thinking we all will have to wait until the first few actual shipping notices go out and I'm hoping we will be pleasantly surprised how quickly we get our units. Maybe this is the point where Apple will under promise/over deliver and all of us who preordered will get our minis by the 16th.

today's bozo at apple told me that the cellular versions are already in stores.... ya.... he's really informed, eh?

Just curious has anyone's LTE Mini showed up on their Apple support profile yet? (supportprofile dot apple dot com)? Mine hasn't, just curious.

Check your shipping dates, iPad Mini LTE's are shipping. Mine says it will be here November 21st the day before Thanksgiving I think!

Nothing is shipping yet.

Most will go out on Friday 11/16. I bet I can buy one in the store on that day, and if so, I will return the one on order.

We should really all be receiving these before or at the same time as the stores, so thumbs down to Apple.

Aw crap. Did you guys see that AT&T is going to start subsidizing LTE iPads ($100 discount) starting on the 16th? Only catch is you have to buy from them (online or in store) and then sign a 2 year contract. But since I'm with AT&T and was planning to add mine to a mobile share plan anyway, I'm essentially losing $100 by purchasing through Apple. I could cancel my pre-order and buy from AT&T, but no guarantee they'll have a Black 64GB LTE Mini in-stock online or in-store.

I called Apple today when I saw the "Deliver by Nov 21" on my order, to see about expediting shipping or having it delivered to an Apple store for pickup, as we would be out of town. Was told not to worry as it would be delivered by Nov 15th. I asked twice to make sure that it wasn't shipped by the 15th.

He also said there was a glitch that was showing Nov 21 as the delivery date and they were working on getting that fixed. Not sure I buy that, but if it comes the 15th I will be a happy guy.

Added: At my usual Friday Afternoon Attitude Adjustment Seminar there was a guy down the bar with a WiFi Mini. I told him I had one coming (with cellular data) and he said "do you want to check it out" -- man is that thing thin and light -- exactly what I was looking for.

Verizon offers a subsidy upgrade that you can transfer to a phone line and get a phone subsidized which is usually way more than $100. I got my iPhone 5 this way. If AT&T allows that too, that's a better way to to than taking the $100

From another thread, I wrote that AT&T isn't taking pre-orders yet. I'm not sure what to do about my Apple pre-order. I'm paying for the unlimited data already, so I might as well sign a 2-year. https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/16267528/

My CC has been authorized (today) and my status is Preparing for Shipment...my delivery date is Nov 21st so maybe Apple really will get them out before then. I'm excited!

Sorry I don't quite understand - could you explain this in a little more detail? Are you saying that instead of getting the subsidy for the iPad Mini, you can sign the same contract and get your phone upgrade date bumped up instead? And keep the iPad Mini that you pre-ordered from Apple?

So if you add an iPad or any tablet line to your family share plan it (data only line), Verizon offers it a subsidy upgrade (it basically shows the line is upgrade eligible). You can than transfer that upgrade to a different line ( any of your phone lines). This will lock your data only line to a 2 year contract and your upgrade date for the phone line remains unchanged.

Interesting... and you don't have to purchase the tablet from them, correct?

Btw I just called Apple and spoke to someone in Sales as well as someone in Customer Service and they both told me there was no way to expedite shipping (I even offered to pay extra for it). The only thing they said they could do was change the shipping destination. Obviously that's not true given what other people have had them do,... But the Customer Service guy said the same "it's coming from overseas and you're getting the very first shipment" explanation.

I almost wonder if everyone is getting it at the same time no matter what, and the real question is whether we all get it the 21st or we all get it the 16th. Has anyone actually paid extra for the expedited shipping? The fact that they're giving it away free almost makes it seem like it would've arrived then anyway and they're just bumping the date to make some people feel better. I dunno.

No you don't have to. When you add a tablet to your family share plan, you get a new number / line and that line shows up as elgible for upgrade.

I have a feeling you're right. All us "first shipment-ers" will get it on the same day regardless of what the shipping method is. I too agree that it's really just a question of whether that day will be the 16th or the 21st. I know we all want it to be the 16th, but I don't know why they would say the 21st then. We'll see...

I just checked my orders. I had called Thursday night & gotten my Mini & my iPad updated to overnight shipping & both showed the 16th by noon & have ever since then until just now when I checked -- the regular iPad still shows overnight shipping but the date has changed to the 21st. The mini is still the 16th.

What's more interesting is that my credit card has a pending transaction for the regular iPad which should mean it is about to ship :). There's no charge yet for the Mini.

Here's a question - nobody has tried comparing which versions (color, carrier and storage size) they are willing to upgrade shipping for, and which they aren't. Is it possible that certain models are coming from China and others are coming from stateside?

Mine (which they denied to upgrade shipping on) is a Black, 64GB iPad Mini w/LTE, AT&T. Were any black, 64GB, AT&T's able to get theirs bumped up?

Status just changed to "Preparing to Ship"

Just checked earlier today, so this must have happened in the last hour or so. I still kind of expect them to hit their Nov 16th arrival. Mine isn't a Mini, but I would assume that any of the LTE versions might be going out around the same time. Just my guess.
