Tomorrow my KHOMO smart case for the 10.5 arrives. I have high expectations for it. I'll try and post a review in this thread.

I have the case already. Looks ok, but I still prefer the Apple full case. My main problem with it is that the inner part of the back case is not rubberized. Also the inner flap material feels like very very fine sandpaper.

Also, the lightning cutout does not match the photos... it's a bit strange since the top side is fully exposed.

I'm not sure it won't scratch my iPad... which I'm getting tomorrow.

Eyeballing it, I'm guessing JETech is better... more precise speaker cutouts.

Oh, man... I was about to pull the trigger on the KHOMO.

Can you post pics of it/the issues you're having with it?

I'm looking at the closeup photo that shows the case edges and the iPP screen and I'm concerned that the lip doesn't wrap over the front of the iPP well enough to keep the cover in place. It looks like this one would not need to have the edges trimmed to accommodate the ASK, just have the front cover cut off. Maybe the cover just wasn't seated properly around the iPP. I like the mention of "rubberized back".

I threw caution (and dollars) to the wind and bought the Apple Leather sleeve. Yes it was expensive-ish but so far it works well, looks great and holds my Apple Pencil securely. If I had one criticism it would be that there is not a cut out in the bottom to allow in sleeve charging but, there again, that would probably/definitely cause overheating issues.
I tried keyboard cases with my original iPad and just couldn't get on with them - if I need a real keyboard, Ill use my MacBook!

I agree with what you say. For the past couple of years I've been using my iPads case less and the leather sleeve suits me fine. As for charging I naturally slide the iPad in from the bottom so the charging port is at the top where the pencil sits so you can charge it no problem.

I also bought the Smart Keyboard and it also fits the leather sleeve however, I leave it off unless going out of the house.

Those pictures are fake anyway. I'll see about posting some but I only have the case right now.
[doublepost=1498244790][/doublepost]Here's a picture of the KhoMo case. Few points:

(1) The rubberized back is not rubberized on the inside, increasing the chances your iPad will get scratched. The Apple cases have a soft lining on the inside.
(2) There is no full coverage around the lightning port, for some reason.
(3) The JETech basically looks identical but it's cooler -- it has precision speaker cutouts like the Apple cases. And Prime.

I wondered the same thing, although in fewer words :), but I don't have a 10.5 yet so can't judge myself. Perhaps others could comment on whether it gets warm at all.
I haven't noticed mine get hot at all, or even very warm, and I've been putting it through it's paces with multitasking in iOS 11 and trying out some advanced stuff like the advanced layer mask tools and liquify brushes in Affinity Photo, as well as making 13x19" 300dpi sketches in Procreate and outputting drawing videos. Part of the problem seems to be that it doesn't warm up because it's too fast. Like, in Procreate, if I have it render a video of how I made my drawing, it spits out a two minute long 1080p render in 4-5 seconds. It's not even long enough to get hot.

I just tried to push it harder by rendering some 4K movies out of iMovie, but iOS 11 was glitching out when trying to download the videos, which were shot on my iPhone, from iCloud and making them be 1.8s long. I'm not sure what else I could try that would be more taxing. Even so, when it was trying to download those 4K videos, it only got slightly warmer on the back.

That looks pretty heavy. No thanks.

I went to BB and checked on the UAG Metropolis for iPad Pro 9.7 and the back cover felt really good in my hands. It has a nice grip and it works fantastic with the Apple Smart Cover. It feels even lighter than the Smart Case for iPad Pro 9.7 that I had. As soon it's available at BH Photo I will order one.

Does anyone know if Otterbox cases are the the only ones with built in screen protectors ?

How easy is it to remove/fit these cases? Smart Keyboard isn't really needed when I'm out of the house so I am considering a cheap case to help protect it in my backpack

The UAG Metropolis looks like a good choice and unless a rear shell shows up it's probably what I'll be picking up too.

Read some posts mentioning the 9.7 IPP case causing the iPad to make a noise. Don't know if it was resolved or not

Devicewear has "no timeline" on when they might have a case -- the Ridge -- for the 10.5".

The best case i'd like to get would be a genuine leather folio case. The best leather I've ever had was on Twelve South's BookBook case. I've had a Kavaj leather case but the leather is very thin and not as good.

So now that I have my iPad, I'm loving this case a whole lot more than I thought I would. Snapping in the device was nerve wracking (I don't dare take it off yet -- only time will tell if the hard case or screen liner cause any scratches), but once done, the fit/finish/feel was very decent although not Apple-perfect.

The corners of the iPad are also well-protected, unlike the JETech.

Which case are you referring to?

I thought you initially didn't like it for the reasons you listed? Anyway, I've had the same style Khomo cases on my iPads for years. They are really great. Durable. Never scratched. Great rubberized back feeling. I ordered both the Khomo and Jetech for my 10.5. They both arrive Monday. I'll try both. Why didn't you like the Jetech? Thx...

Has anyone ordered the Khomo Twill case? I'm really liking the look.
Agree on the look, and like the idea of tacky on one side and more slippery on the other.

In Apple silicon back/cover my 9.7 gets "stock" on smoother surfaces sometimes like glass or TV trays.

Just wonder how the fabric is attached to the back and will it hold up?

Not really carbon-fiber guy, but thought same pluses with this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WQKSJ9/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I17J7FMBFS01BM&colid=2YL0XTY5IWUY0

(I swear, I spend more time deciding on a $15 iPad case than I do buying a car.
