I believe I read the pencil holder comes off of the Tech 21 case. How do I do that without damaging it? I started pulling it back but don't want to break anything. Should it come right off?

Guys,
I am planning on buying the IPP 10.5 with the Smart Keyboard.

I saw an user recommending this back case:
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/HL7C2ZM/A/tech21-impact-clear-case-for-105-inch-ipad-pro?fnode=9a

Which is compatible with it. The problem is that I can't buy this directly since I am not in the US. Apple.com only accepts Paypal U.S. addresses, and the billing address from my credit card is not from one of the countries listed there.

Meaning I would have to use a forwarding service and pay for the "assisted purchase" service, which would make the whole thing more expensive than already is.

To make matters worse this is the only site selling this product. Are there any good similar alternatives I should know (besides Khomo)? It must be compatible with the SK.

Edit: Tech21 replied this:

Unfortunately at this time Apple.com is our only retailer selling the 10.5 iPad cases. Our website will have them in September for purchase and we ship to your country as well if you are willing to wait for inventory to be received.

Since I can't wait at this point, and considering all the costs, I'll order the one from Khomo.

I hope that is not the case with the Khomo Back Cover without the Pencil Holder ?

Zero issues with the Khomo without the pencil holder. Colour and texture almost identical to Apple silicone. Only negative is that it tends to pick up fingerprints faster than the Apple silicone for the 1st Gen 12.9 - but nothing that you can't wipe away with a wet cloth.

Was so happy with the first one, I bought a second. Can't go wrong for $15. Apple would charge $100 if they made this case.

Was at Apple Store at Galleria Houston recently.
Really liked the Apple Smart Cover for the iPP 10.5 in black leather. Nice, pebble grain.
Bought the Apple Smart Keyboard for the 10.5. Unlike the 2 that I bought and returned at Best Buy, this one lays perfectly flat. Pricey, but very pleased.

Swissgear - 1805 Mini Messenger Bag

I know this isn't a case, but I just wanted to share with you guys this messenger bag that fits my iPad Pro 10.5 inch perfectly.

That looks nice but I think I'd want something that has some extra padding to protect it, but maybe I'm being paranoid

Be interested to hear if the pencil holder is removable.

It arrived today but my ipad has not yet shipped so I will take a picture once it arrives. It is not removable but you could probably tuck it inside the case if you wanted and did not plan on using the holder. It may not be that noticeable. If you never planned on using it, it could be cut off I suppose. I put a regular pencil in it and it sits quite nicely behind the lip of the case. My apple pencil is due to arrive next week.

Anyone have this Snugg case for 10.5" iPad:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Snugg-Ultr...ncoding=UTF8&refRID=4W9BSTQBQ86J4WPVS2CG&th=1

I have ordered a 10.5 iPad for my wife which has not come yet, but the case has. Seems exactly what we wanted but some of the customer reviews say the lid does not wake/sleep. However the edge of the lid does have a magnet (paperclip test). Trying it with her old 9.7 Air it does not wake/sleep but maybe an unfair test.

Anyone know the truth?

Thanks.

Guys, where can I find a cheaper but equal alternative to the Smart Cover (for the Pro 10.5)? In charcoal gray?

I already have a Smart Keyboard, but was willing to buy a Smart Cover since I don't use the SK most of the time. For less than 49 $ that Apple is asking.

Note: only the front cover, it needs to detach to allow for the SK. I already bought the rear case from Khomo:

How does the Tech 21's pencil holder come off? I've tried to remove it but don't want to break anything. I can see how it should pop out.

One thing that I don't like about the Tech 21 is I find it hard to push the power and volume buttons. Definitely not like it is without a case. Takes some effort.

You have to slide the Pencil holder down first and then it should pop off. I do find the power button a bit stiff but am having no issues with the volume ones. Small drawback compared to the issues I've had with all the other cases I've tried.
