It has been heavy duty sub-zero winter weather here, so neither me or the Vaja has been out much. But, everyone I show it to wants to handle it.
I did get notice on a new Vaja product that is basically a sleeve/pouch for a 13" MacBook. The fact that it has a shoulder strap would make it very useful. I don't remember the cost. I'm sure the cost was as breath taking as the Vaja pouch

I agree with your thoughts regarding the Brydge. The added weight is an unavoidable downside of mimicking a laptop. I've already posted I would be worried about the potential of bending the iPad while using the Brydge device.
Frankly, my former (and now my daughter's) MacBook 12" gives the best of everything regarding size and weight. But it runs very slow. Very slow, especially compared to the iPad Pro. The 12" display quality certainly doesn't hold a candle compared to the iPad Pro. The new MacBook Air might be the best answer for Apple loving laptop fans.
Take care and enjoy the Vaja. Be prepared to received many compliments on the sleeve!
Wow, so that’s very cold where you are. It’s summer here in Australia and by time my Vaja case arrives, we will be heading into autumn (called “fall” in the US), but even winter here is rarely sub-zero. Wow, so everyone wants to handle the case. I find that with the iPad already, people want to pick it up and see how heavy it is and how it feels in their hands. I feel like I am an Apple sales person without commission sometimes.
The MacBook 13” sleeve looks perfect to me, I would have liked to have seen the shoulder strap on the iPad Pro 12.9” version. Hmmm. I wonder if there are dimension differences now. Although, I also considered that without the shoulder strap that I can either carry it in hand to meetings or put it in my handbag or backpack (what ever I am using to and from the office) and in that case, perhaps the shoulder strap could get in the way. But still, it would have been good with that option.
I also agree with your thoughts regarding the potential for the iPad to bend when using the Brydge keyboard. It could be susceptible to bending if opened while holding the middle edge of the iPad, especially if the hinges are stiff.
I do like the look of the MacBook Air with its new display and it makes a good laptop design, but I prefer to hold my iPad Pro in tablet mode without a keyboard for the majority of my usage. I have a work provided Windows laptop for development and an iMac and older MacBook Pro (not really used anymore) at home. My main personal device is my iPad Pro. I would love to be able to attach a keyboard to the iPad Pro that is thin and light, but provides a function key row. Backlighting is probably less important to me, but would be cool also. I just wish that Apple’s Folio Keyboard case had the function row of keys. I could wait and see what Logitech produce. I know there are Bluetooth keyboards that are separate devices, but that solution will not work on my lap for evening use in my recliner.
