It has been heavy duty sub-zero winter weather here, so neither me or the Vaja has been out much. But, everyone I show it to wants to handle it.

I did get notice on a new Vaja product that is basically a sleeve/pouch for a 13" MacBook. The fact that it has a shoulder strap would make it very useful. I don't remember the cost. I'm sure the cost was as breath taking as the Vaja pouch ;)

I agree with your thoughts regarding the Brydge. The added weight is an unavoidable downside of mimicking a laptop. I've already posted I would be worried about the potential of bending the iPad while using the Brydge device.

Frankly, my former (and now my daughter's) MacBook 12" gives the best of everything regarding size and weight. But it runs very slow. Very slow, especially compared to the iPad Pro. The 12" display quality certainly doesn't hold a candle compared to the iPad Pro. The new MacBook Air might be the best answer for Apple loving laptop fans.

Take care and enjoy the Vaja. Be prepared to received many compliments on the sleeve!

Wow, so that’s very cold where you are. It’s summer here in Australia and by time my Vaja case arrives, we will be heading into autumn (called “fall” in the US), but even winter here is rarely sub-zero. Wow, so everyone wants to handle the case. I find that with the iPad already, people want to pick it up and see how heavy it is and how it feels in their hands. I feel like I am an Apple sales person without commission sometimes.

The MacBook 13” sleeve looks perfect to me, I would have liked to have seen the shoulder strap on the iPad Pro 12.9” version. Hmmm. I wonder if there are dimension differences now. Although, I also considered that without the shoulder strap that I can either carry it in hand to meetings or put it in my handbag or backpack (what ever I am using to and from the office) and in that case, perhaps the shoulder strap could get in the way. But still, it would have been good with that option.

I also agree with your thoughts regarding the potential for the iPad to bend when using the Brydge keyboard. It could be susceptible to bending if opened while holding the middle edge of the iPad, especially if the hinges are stiff.

I do like the look of the MacBook Air with its new display and it makes a good laptop design, but I prefer to hold my iPad Pro in tablet mode without a keyboard for the majority of my usage. I have a work provided Windows laptop for development and an iMac and older MacBook Pro (not really used anymore) at home. My main personal device is my iPad Pro. I would love to be able to attach a keyboard to the iPad Pro that is thin and light, but provides a function key row. Backlighting is probably less important to me, but would be cool also. I just wish that Apple’s Folio Keyboard case had the function row of keys. I could wait and see what Logitech produce. I know there are Bluetooth keyboards that are separate devices, but that solution will not work on my lap for evening use in my recliner.

I see Zagg is going to offer a keyboard and case. Not for sale yet.

A video showing it...

Thanks for the video too. My considerations with this keyboard are now that keyboard is now essentially a rear case and front keyboard that I do need to like the rear case as well. I currently have the regular (non-keyboard) Apple Folio case and I like to use it as a stand, but I often remove the iPad from the case to hold in my hands for use. Removing my iPad from the Zagg case would take more effort and I don’t think that taking it out of the case often is the intention here and not something that I’d enjoy doing. Another consideration here is that I note that it adds an additional width (or height?) to the iPad which I’m not sure that I like and I’m also not sure if that it will fit inside the Vaja case that I just ordered due to that extra width.

I like both my iPhone and my iPad naked. My iPhone X is protected in my pocket where I don’t put anything else, but my iPad, I have to carry around. I’m considering a sleeve. As something I’ll have with me very often, it has to look nice, it’s essentially a fashion accessory. Brand names aren’t important but build quality and excellence in design is. Any suggestions?

Really digging this, but nothing yet made for the new 12.9” iPad Pro.

Has anyone managed to get a simple TPU case for these? I ordered one from EBay and it didn’t show up. Not many choices it seems.

I’ve gone and changed my mind again about the Brydge keyboard. I’ve decided to keep my order after all. I know that the Apple Folio Keyboard cover will be lighter and more portable, but come April when the Brydge comes out and I see the reviews, I’m pretty sure that I’d regret it if I cancelled it. The Brydge just looks so good, has keys that look and feel like MacBook keys, have backlighting and extra function keys that are not present on the Apple one. If I really want to go light for the day, I have my non-keyboard Apple Folio cover anyway. I just think that the Brydge one is still the best one on offer. Only 2+ months to wait now. hehe. I’ve waited this long, I might as well keep waiting at this point.

As for my Vaja case, I’m still waiting for that too. It hasn’t shipped yet, since I unfortunately ordered at a time when the readymade product office had a closure. They are closed until the 15th, so not long now until it ships. It needs to be shipped to Australia though, so that can be as little as a few days or as long as a few weeks, depending on the shipping method or priority.

BTW, I think that the Brydge team are in Australia, or at least they have an Australian shipping office. If only that meant that it would be delivered quickly.....but I have to wait until the end of April for mine to be shipped.

Does anybody know if there is an incase sleeve that fits the new iPad Pro?
I really like their Icon sleeves with tensaerlite, as they don't have zippers and make removing devices from the sleeve incredibly easy. They have this case for the 12.9 inch iPad Pro:
https://www.incase.com/devices/ipad/ipad-pro/icon-sleeve-tensaerlite-ipad-pro.
However I think this only fits the 2017 model so might be too big. Also I was thinking of maybe trying the icon sleeve for the 12 inch MacBook or 13 inch MacBook Pro. Is there anyone here who have one of those sleeves and tried them with the new 12.9 iPad Pro?

My Vaja case arrived today and I love it. I got the saddle tan and floater black one and it’s really nice and feels like great quality. The inside lining looks, feels and smells like suede and the case is nicely padded.

There is a pocket on the outside with a magnet fastening it in the middle. This outside pocket might be useful for a spare iPad cable, but smaller items might slip out since it’s not a zippered enclosure.

Inside the case, are 3 pen or Apple Pencil slots and a larger pocket with two magnetic buttons. This area could be ideal for iPad dongles perhaps.

I was unsure if it would have enough room to contain both the iPad and the Brydge Keyboard. I don’t yet have the Brydge Keyboard, but I think it looks like it’s going to fit nicely. The case has some room to move.

On the back of the case, there is a carry handle on the bottom. It’s a different placement for a handle than most cases, but when holding the case against your side with the handle on the outside, it works well and provides security that would not be there if the handle wasn’t present.

The only adjustment that I could suggest for this case would be the option to attach or detach an over the shoulder carry strap. As it is though, it is going to be a great case to put in a larger bag, a backpack or to just carry in my hand. I’m very happy with the case. It has a high price tag, but it’s beautiful, the leather is of high quality and it has great construction. Overall, I’m very happy with it.

I agree, I've got the all black version and it is a very very nice place for my iPad to call home.

Sorry if I missed this in a past post, but does the iPad fit with the Apple keyboard folio attached? Thanks

Are we sure that Logitech is going to produce a keyboard for the new iPad Pro? I haven't heard anything from them, and with every other iPad Pro model there was an announcement of a case as soon as there was the announcement of the iPad.

I don't have a link for it but I read on a Logitech forum that they are laughing their keyboard case this March. However, that was several weeks ago that I read that. I have the Apple keyboard folio and really like it, but I miss the backlit and function row keys of my Logitech slim combo.

Yes, no problem at all. I own both. 12.9 2018 iPad.

Awesome, thank you.

I just got the STM Dux Plus case, they are a company in Australia. I had their Dux Plus for my iPad 10.5 and loved it. Very strong and good designed case.
I gave my 10.5 to my wife and got the 12.9 and missed that case!.

Recently they released versions for the new iPad and it’s just as good! I like how it protects the pencil yet still charges.

It’s so easy to remove the iPad from the keyboard folio and folio. I just remove it and go naked while in bed, on a plane, or on the coach. I’m not sure what line of work you are in, but if your work doesn’t involve movement, you can just easily remove the keyboard folio. Or, get both and put on the regular folio when you are on the move. I don’t know if this helps, but just a thought.

The iPad is a little bit glitchy without a case, though. Apple’s Folio Cases feel a little bit rubbery and are less slippery than the aluminium. Even in bed I find it sometimes a little bit more comfortable too have more grip.

can you get a front-only cover for the new ipads? I mostly use my ipad 12.9 around the house so only want front screen protection and something that'll prop it up when watching video on the arm of the sofa for example. Front/back folio case seems overkill to me (extra cost, weight, bulk)

those of you mostly home users - do some of you go naked? But then how do you manage when you want to stand it up
