How much weight does it add? Does it feel much more cumbersome?

Not sure how much weight it adds. Not a terrible lot, really. It does add some bulk but I find it easier to handle. Also not a fan of folio's but it's the only case UAG makes for the 12.9. Still, I would have rather had a Plasma case instead of a Metropolis. I emailed UAG and they unfortunately have no plans on making a Plasma for the 12.9 3th gen.

I’ve currently got the Apple Folio cover and will eventually get a keyboard, but I’m undecided between the Apple Keyboard Folio cover or the Brydge Keyboard.
What I have been looking at though are leather bags or sleeves. My preference was to have a satchel type bag and I believe that I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for. I’ve just ordered this and it looks to be perfect for carrying my iPad Pro 12.9” 2018 as well as purse and other items. I need to wait for it to be shipped from the UK to Australia. I chose the distressed tan colour.

Well all. I finally got the Vaja Sleeve/Pouch as they call it. Shipped Dec. 23 and arrived Jan. 7. After several days of delays while in transit. Full disclosure as I review this sleeve. Vaja did refund the shipping costs due to transit delays.

The leather is first rate, soft, yet looks like it will last a long time. The workmanship is very, very nice. The zipper is very high quality and opens and closes with ease. The interior looks like suede, but I'm not sure it is. Either way it is nice.

There is an outside pocket is cloth lined and it uses a "hidden" magnet to close. Also there is an inside pocket that also uses a "hidden" magnet to close. The inside pocket also has two pencil pockets. Note there is plenty of room for the Apple Pencil to ride on the iPad in charging mode.

The exterior backside's leather handle is an interesting design element. I suppose it is meant to secure the user's fingers against and around the case. Certainly it would help against flipping forward or backward out of the hand. There isn't a lot of length to the strap. I have smallish hands, there was some room left with all four fingers inserted.

The size of the interior will easily accommodate the Apple folio and keyboard folio. If you have an armored case then it would probably be iffy. Then again if you have an armored case you probably don't need a sleeve.

If you can afford the price it certainly is a beauty.

I love the Vaja sleeve/case above, but for the price, I wanted a leather bag with shoulder strap to carry my iPad Pro, plus charger, other accessories, purse and keys. So I’ve opted to buy a leather satchel instead and it actually cost me less. Although, i am considering buying a sleeve to use as well inside my bag, likely the Harber London Slim iPad Pro EVO.
So I’ll end up with this combination.…

I’m still considering keyboard options. I’ve been thinking about the Apple Folio Keyboard and the Brydge Keyboard. The Brydge Keyboard has a function key row, backlighting, more key travel and a solid laptop design for lap use. But the Apple Folio Keyboard is lighter, slimmer and doesn’t require charging. Although, the battery life on the Brydge isn’t likely to be an issue since it has a long battery life.

I’m looking at the Brydge also. Worrying about the iPad 12.9 2018 bending when adjusting the angle or closing.

I love this UAG case on my 9.7 that I use outside around the pool, etc. it has been bumped by a dog a few times and plopped down on the screen with no problems at all. This iPad stays home all the time.

I’ve decided in the Brydge keyboard now and put in my order.
I saw your thought about bending in the Brydge thread. I also wondered if the iPad could be bent by the action of lifting the iPad open when the keyboard is attached, but I will be careful until I work out if it’s an issue or not. I really like the look of the Brydge keyboard and functionality, especially having home and Siri buttons, etc.

Nice - sold, and with 20% discount code. Cheers

It seems properly designed cases not using leaked specs are finally starting to show up

I've ordered one of these today, Ill post pics and first impressions when it arrives. Even if it's not perfect it's just a stopgap till/if they actually release the official folio in more variety.

I'm wondering if the 12.9" with LTE (cutouts) would be more susceptible to bending. I've watched the second video at CES where the manufactured demoed the the keyboard. I couldn't tell how much force the demonstrator guy had to use. I did like the new magnetic back case. I look forward to the first end user reviews.

Case arrived today and it's a better fit than i expected. It's a shame it doesn't have peak like the folio but it's a well made case with a nice feel and the magnetic strap holing the pencil in place is a nice touch.

Finally got my UAG folio. Not sure how I feel about it yet. The black fabric on the inside of the flap attracts dust like a magnet, and it's very visible on the black colour. It really looks trashy after 5 minutes of use.

Please let us know what you think of the bag when you get it. I had to give up on several of my bags due to the 12.9" 3rd Gen. Including a Defy and Sena :( The did find good homes though.

The bag has arrived and unfortunately it’s not going to work. The width was fine, but the height that was posted in the product information was the height of the flap that goes over the top of the bag. So my iPad Pro 12.9” doesn’t fit within the zippered area. Besides that, my bag actually has another issue, the inside lining of the bag is too long for the bag and it is bunched up on the inside. I’ve tried to contact the seller now to return the bag. I’m sure the defect was a once off, but my iPad doesn’t fit anyway, so I’m asking for a refund rather than a replacement.

Quilted-Camo just became my thing! If you told me that a month ago I would have laughed out loud. My SAS brother-in-law will probably laugh out loud when he sees me toting this.

It was on sale as a close out. It is in fact designed for a 15” laptop and smaller than 12.9” iPad (exterior pocket). I’ll be using the interior laptop pocket for my iPad encased in a sleeve in winter. The main storage compartment does not have a lot of depth

The exterior zippered iPad enclosure will just have to hold misc. chargers/cables. It will not fit my 12.9” iPad. But I knew that and felt that the sale price was too good to pass up.

https://www.hexbrand.com/products/regiment-messenger-bag

This well padded bag looks to be fairly water resistant, especially on the bottom side where the canvas like material gives way to vinyl. The messenger bag flap will of course protect the main compartment bag’s zipper from moisture while in place.

Well my friends, please share your iPad accessory finds. Let me know if you have any questions.

Anyone know what case this is that keeps appearing in the iPad Pro How-To commercials? Apologies if it's already been posted on.

Thank you for your review on this. I got the refund on the bag that I’d bought on Etsy that had an incorrectly fitting lining and didn’t fit the iPad correctly anyway. So now I’ve ordered the Vaja zippered case as well. I’ve had Vaja products before in the past and they have always been my favourite cases. This is the first of the sleeve/pouch kind that I’ve ordered from them though. I had a 20% off code from them which helped since the shipping to Australia isn’t cheap, but that covered most of the shipping cost for me.
Vaja have a note in their site that the shipping office for the prebuilt products is closed until February 18th, so it won’t ship immediately, but I have my order in now.

In addition to this, I’ve decided to cancel my preorder for the Brydge keyboard. Firstly, I didn’t make the initial shipment and mine was scheduled for shipping at the end of April. Secondly, I started to reconsider due the added weight the keyboard will add if I take it to work along with my iPad. Then, thirdly, I decided that I’ll get the Apple folio keyboard instead since it ships sooner, will be lighter and more portable and will definitely fit in the Vaja case that I just ordered, while I am unsure if the Brydge keyboard will fit in the Vaja case.

It’s the Apple Smart Keyboard case.
I've looked at it frame by frame as obsession has taken hold of me. I can't see the keyboard as it closes (and it looks blue to me rather than space gray) but I think you're right. At first I thought it might be an unreleased case coming after the suspected March event.

Too bad. I like that particular design for a case rather than the standard folio. Much more stable for lap use. I'm not ready to shell out $200 for the keyboard folio though.

It has been heavy duty sub-zero winter weather here, so neither me or the Vaja has been out much. But, everyone I show it to wants to handle it.

I did get notice on a new Vaja product that is basically a sleeve/pouch for a 13" MacBook. The fact that it has a shoulder strap would make it very useful. I don't remember the cost. I'm sure the cost was as breath taking as the Vaja pouch ;)

https://www.vajacases.com/collectio...roducts/macbook-air-13-leather-zippered-pouch

I agree with your thoughts regarding the Brydge. The added weight is an unavoidable downside of mimicking a laptop. I've already posted I would be worried about the potential of bending the iPad while using the Brydge device.

Frankly, my former (and now my daughter's) MacBook 12" gives the best of everything regarding size and weight. But it runs very slow. Very slow, especially compared to the iPad Pro. The 12" display quality certainly doesn't hold a candle compared to the iPad Pro. The new MacBook Air might be the best answer for Apple loving laptop fans.

Take care and enjoy the Vaja. Be prepared to received many compliments on the sleeve!
