Anyone got experience with ZUGU cases? They look good and I like the way they incorporate pencil charging into the design and include a pocket on the back as well as the magnetic kickstand.

That's the case I want to get(For my future ipad pro) but right now they are having issues implementing the pencil 2 so the cases have been delayed

I've been in contact with the Sena Facebook/social media person and they said both their new cases will support apple pencil charging. The description was updated several days ago, stating so as well.
[doublepost=1542769174][/doublepost]I bought the following two cases to compare and keep one...

Ztotop: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J4K6ZK6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

TiMOVO: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H7BT3RZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're practically almost identical (same cutout/design/material), except the Ztotop has their logo at the bottom right and the TiMOVO doesn't have any branding. I noticed that BOTH cases have somewhat weak magnets that will make the cover sag if you turn it face down. For example, when the smart cover lid is closed on the front, if you flip it over, the lid will remain attached, but it will sag from the middle depending on how you hold it. If you flip the lid back to use the ipad, it will do the same thing, unless you're holding it with both hands to support it, or hold it from the end.

But for $25, I can't complain. Just wish the magnets on the lid were a tad stronger so the lid wouldn't sag. I noticed right off the bat the Apple case does not have this problem. But it's quite minimal. Gotta do some more testing to see which case (nearly identical) I will keep.

And the weight compared with the Apple one?

No one that has seen a case for the iPad Pro 12.9 with a kickstand and without a Smart /front cover? Just need a cover that makes my iPad work like a surface pro(without the keyboard), a Smart /front Cover adds unnecessary weight for the way I want to use my iPad.

I like the kickstand idea. I could see using an iPad Pro sans front cover as long as my sleeve/backpack or briefcase had a soft interior. The Crazy Horse Sleeve and the Vaja on order do have soft interiors.

The Crazy Horse has a way to turn into a stand.

I was really tempted to just see if I could use an old, battery powered, Apple BT keyboard. I even have some kind of folio that acts as a cover and then reverses to a stand. Wow, it works well. It’s an old Incase folio. I’m really digging this. The width of the case is just a little wider than the new 12.9.

I could have saved $199.00 in reference to my Apple Keyboard folio! Bring it back Incase! Saw a cheap one on eBay, and some way more expensive asks.

Update be sure to KILL the keyboard BT connection when you are done.

I still have mine, although when I tested it out, it made some of the new gestures hard to reach. So the old origami by Incase is a no go for me.

I still can’ see why case manufacturers didn’ t release a case with a very thin backplate with a larger hole where the smart connector is, for the Smart Keyboard folio, so magnets of the iPad will still attach, with bumper style sides to offer protection. This would be the perfect case.
Or a case that fits over the Smart Keyboard folio on the back, and goes half way around the back(for the folding part of the folio on the back) but with edge protection.
Or a simple case with a kickstand without a (front) flap and a build-in screen protector, to make it as light as possible. The zugu still has a flap that adds weight.

First option would make the nicest case.

i just ordered the Unicorn Supcase pro for my 2018 12.9 pro, i have one on my iPhone XS Max, and had one on my other iPads, while a little heavy i like the protection on the sides, no pencil support but i don't use one, i have the zomotop smart folio knock offs and while i like the thin ness i don't like it being uncovered on all sides

My new unicorn supcase, I like how much sturdy it feels in the hand than my folio, it’s a little heavier but it seems easier to hold onto and like the backstand

Looks very nice. As it isn't a folio, with a front cover, do you think you need a clear screen protector? I suppose it depends on how you use it. Thanks for the posting!
When not in use I’m using a 13 inch MacBook bag to store it in

Fellow iPad 12.9 2018 owners I have previously posted that I had pre-ordered an iPad 12.9 2018 sleeve. Well it shipped and has been stuck in Argentina for days with some kind of "size exception". I have asked Vaja to follow-up with FedEx and so far they just quote a date that was supposed to be delivered today. Well, FedEx confirmed to me yesterday that it is still stuck, and is not in transit. They have no idea when it might shake loose and actually arrive. So my friends I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I feel that I must caution fellow potential buyers in the USA that if there are complications in shipping and you may never see your order. I have asked for a refund on this date, after many emails asking Vaja to step in and make this right by following up with the stuck shipment. I'm out almost $200.00 and have no idea when I might receive this order.

I think in the future I will no longer "preview" products on these threads unless I know the manufacturer and the delivery of their products are reliable. That is too bad, as I have appreciated other posters pointing the way to worthwhile products

I also must add that Vaja likes to communicate via a website page that doesn't seem to work with my Safari browser, even with blocker turned off. This page is so unadorned it looks like a phishing site. If things somehow work out I'll update and apologize if need be. But right now it looks like I am royally screwed. Vaja has my money, and my "shipped" sleeve is in purgatory.o_O

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
Have you tried cases from this merchant b4? Wonder how their handstrap armor-x cases for iPad Pro 12.9 fare in real-life use?

Looks like this year they have introduced a rugged case too

I recently got my iPad Pro 12.9” and went looking for a keyboard case for it. Easy to find many that would do the job if the use was on a table but the same irritating issue of not finding any that work well on the lap.
For me the primary use of the 12.9 is on my lap while sitting in my recliner. The problem is the tilting of the screen and to some extent, the weight added. Most of the keyboard cases I’ve seen online have one tilt angle or the description isn’t good enough to tell if they have variable tilt.
Any suggestions?

Rarely do I find a case that is “game-changing” but I got the Unicorn Supcase for the 11” IPP with the slot for the Apple Pencil 2. First thing I did was punch out the screen protector as I hate the built in ones and used the one I previously had applied.
This in combination with my Logitech K380 keyboard makes this a mobile workstation that works great for me.
