As of today, which is the best case for the iPad Pro 12.9"? I am looking for something that is not bulky but protective against drops especially at the corners. Ideally with something on the case to keep the Apple pencil. Without this feature is also OK. Thanks.

How are these cases compared with each other. Which is light weight but good enough to protect the iPAD Pro 12.9" from drops?

Tech 21
Unicorn Beetle Pro
UAG
Poetic Lumos Flexible soft

I really feel that the UAG case is the best case for the IPad!! Been using UAG for all of the IPads and IPhones that I have owned.

Why do you think so? I have been reading reviews. People said it is a bit on the heavy side.

Three persons mentioned that they have dropped their 12.9" with the Poetic Lumos on it and their devices were not damaged. I am also thinking about the turtle skin. The problem with all these cases is that except for the Lumos, their weights is at least half of that of the iPad 12.9". So, I would end up like carrying like a laptop of a bit over 1kg.

Sounds like you are promoting the Lumos so go with that one?

Actually I am drawn between the Lumos and Turtle skin. Turtle skin seems to offer more protection at the corners but it also weights about 500g. The UAG and Beetle PRO do look good though.

Anybody used the Logitech Slim Combo for iPad PRO 12.9 2017? Is it easy to type on the laps on buses and in the subway?

It is a bit heavy but it offers the most protection for the IPad.

I am down to three cases: Valkit, Thankscase and TurtleSkin. Any opinions on these products? Not sure if the added heights and raised edges of the TurtleSkin interfere with writing using Apple Pencil. Any experience?

I use this exact keyboard with the 12.9 2017. Love it. It is easy to open on my lap, typing is firm and pretty stable. Magnet is very strong and I have never had it disconnect unless I deliberately pull it from the tablet. I love the keystroke on the Slim Combo. Much like a standard laptop keyboard.

Perhaps I should ask if there is any case that is lightweight and have bumper at the corners that would protect the iPad PRO 12.9 from drops? I don't care about the cover as I have a Tech Armor glass screen protector.

Can anyone recommend me the best clear plastic case for the 2017 12,9? There seems to be many on Amazon and eBay, but I've read for many of these that they don't hold the iPad very well and that eventually it may drop out. Also, what about the heat of the iPad? Do you think this could be a problem? (and perhaps the reason why Apple did not make a back cover for this model?)

I'm thinking of getting the Smart Cover + a transparent plastic case for the back, I think this will be a good combination. I found one case looking quite good also: https://www.decodedshop.com/nl/tabl...ver-voor-129-inch-ipad-pro-8712837866569.html
I'm not sure if its for the 2017 model, but I saw one in a shop and it said 2015+2017, so I guess that means NO. I also read somewhere that it wasn't very well finished. I'm scared it will not hold the heavy iPad in portrait mode. At least with the Smart Cover I'm sure it will do. And anything else looks too ugly to me, I want something looking sleek and want the cover to be out of leather. Those UAG cases etc. just look f* ugly if you ask me. :D You can not bring that to a meeting, lol.. I'd be ashamed.

Also, I hope a hard cover for the back will not make scratches if dirt comes in. So heat + scratches on inside are what I'm afraid of. Also, I don't want one that has a pen holder, I don't have that Apple pen. So yes, if anyone can recommend me something that HOLDS the iPad well, that's most important, I'd appreciate! :)

Greetings I have just purchased an iPad 12.9 pro and this is the case that I think is going to do the job I don’t use a keyboard. I’ve looked at a lot of other cases and this seems the one that will protect things the best .

Is there not a inexpensive smart cover (clone of the Apple Smart cover) available for the 12.9"? I want the ability to separate/detach the cover from a thin back, and while I can buy good, thin back covers that work with a Smart Cover for $12, I can't find anything but a $50-$60 Smart cover.

I've got a cover/case combo that is nice and thin, but I don't like having to hold the front cover back while using it in my hands. I'd like to be able to detach and set aside.

A "clone" thin back case / detachable "clone" Smart Cover for $30 would be a killer item.

I use the Valkit case. It has removable cover and relatively light weight. Moreover, it has seemingly good protection at the corners. Some people dropped their device with the case without problems. You can also store your Apple Pencil on the front cover. Seems to be the best case for the iPad Pro 12.9. Customer services is not so good but we don't need them.

Thanks. I looked that up on Amazon, and it looks somewhat decent, but learned the removable cover comes off in a sliding manner, not magnetic. Also, not a fan of clear cases that scratch or discolor over time. The case looks sort of thick, too.

I think even if it scratches or discolors over time, we may buy another new device that requires new case by then.

I'm about to order a Grapher case from Cocones. Just checking if anyone here was using one and could share their feedback on it.
There are some opinions on them in MacBook case threads but they're from quite some time ago and a whole different design.

I posted this a few days ago in the 10.5 thread, hope it's ok to repost the question here since the case comes in both sizes. Does anyone here have one?

I’ve been using it since July without issue. The back/edges are still clear too. Works well and would buy another if I needed too.

Although customer support of that company is rubbish (no reply at all from customer services even I was asking simple questions), the product is quite good (lightweight and protective).

I have the Logi Slim Combo and love it. The kickstand is very sturdy with multiple viewing angles and the keyboard portion can fold in half, thus making the typing area much smaller. I use it on my lap at times and I personally don't have any trouble with it. I've used clamshell cases with other iPads in the past, and as much as I miss that format, I think the Logi SC is great at what it does. Without the keyboard, you can prop it up in both landscape and portrait mode, so that's a plus.

I’m still really glad I use the first gen 12.9 apple silicone back with my 2nd gen

Flash is blocked and a mic, but non issue for me

I cant imagine ASK without the silicone cover too, and i dont think an amazon case or tpu back would be quite the same, protection or feeling or aesthetic wise
