I’m still really glad I use the first gen 12.9 apple silicone back with my 2nd gen

Flash is blocked and a mic, but non issue for me

I cant imagine ASK without the silicone cover too, and i dont think an amazon case or tpu back would be quite the same, protection or feeling or aesthetic wise
Silicone or rigid? I had the original Apple rigid back cover and smart cover but it was so heavy it made the thing feel like lugging a 13” laptop around. Plus the original Apple cover developed cracks very quickly so I returned it and got a clear thin plastic back cover on Amazon that served weil for a few years.

So... the new 12.9. Anyone found any good cases yet other than Apple's own?

12.9 2018 iPad Apple Keyboard Folio question. Does the the the iPad just magnetically connect to the iPad. In other words the folio doesn't curl around the edges of the iPad? I'm hoping to not have to pop the iPad out every time I want to use the iPad without the keyboard folio. Though I wonder how secure that would be?

BTW I have to have home delivery on this. Apple site wouldn't allow local Apple Store pickup. Weird huh?

That’s right. It clings on the back with magnets. The side effect is of course no protection for the edges but I like to have full access to ports etc anyway.

Sena cases has one but it doesn’t ship until I think December
Saw a couple on amazon for real cheap. Sorry I didn’t get the link

Does anyone know if the new 12.9 Pro will fit the Apple Leather Sleeve? I'm assuming it will as it's slightly smaller (isn't it?)

From what I recall through my research last year, no keyboard cases besides Apple’s used magnets to attach; they all clicked (or whatever the term here would be) the iPad into place. Is there any reason for that? I’m not in love with Apple’s keyboard folio - no backlighting and limited angles - so hoping third parties come out with good alternatives. I just hate non-magnetic iPad cases.

How long will it take Logitech to update the slim combo? This is my first ipad and I hear that is the case/keyboard to beat.

Well my new IPP 12.9 is out for delivery today and the Apple Keyboard case is showing delivery tomorrow. Hope there are good things to report once I get to try it out.

The magnets for the viewing angles on my keyboard folio are crazy strong, too much so. I basically have to rip the iPad off to close the case and have sent the pencil flying more than once already.

I like the new 12.9” keyboard folio but when carrying it in the open position I tend to put a finger or 2 inside the triangle and the rest on top (feels like a natural way to carry it while in typing position) the weight of the iPad applies pressure to my fingers and a leverage effect sometimes pushes the back of the cover off the iPad.

The back magnets aren’t as strong as the one on the bottom for the typing angles.

I got my case on Friday and I definitely like it better than the original IPP case. The old one was way too thick and the multiple folds were a pain in the butt. The new one works simply and works well. It does feel a touch more tippy when used on my lap though.

Pencil is arriving tomorrow.

Returned the smart keyboard folio and back to the folio case for the 12.9 2018.
I really hate the fact to have to see the keyboard all the time. The simple folding technique of the folio case is enough for my needs.

I was really tempted to just see if I could use an old, battery powered, Apple BT keyboard. I even have some kind of folio that acts as a cover and then reverses to a stand. Wow, it works well. It’s an old Incase folio. I’m really digging this. The width of the case is just a little wider than the new 12.9.

I could have saved $199.00 in reference to my Apple Keyboard folio! Bring it back Incase! Saw a cheap one on eBay, and some way more expensive asks.

Update be sure to KILL the keyboard BT connection when you are done.

I’ve found that if you support the case near the magnet it is on and pull gently on the corner of the iPad it releases reasonably gently.

So far it is 7 PM and my pencil has not arrived. UPS says it is out for delivery still..... Rats. Usually our UPS comes between 12 and 2 so this is discouraging. I’d planned to spend the afternoon playing with it.

I received a message back from Sena Cases back last night, stating Apple Pencil charging was compatible on their case, but only had pictures of the front and back and no word if the Vettra 360 case is. Just noticed they updated their website. Pricey, yes. But I've loved every case I've gotten from them. And I kinda like the idea of the apple pencil being securely attached to the case as well. Still haven't decided to pull the trigger yet though...

Well, I "might" be going the other way. I currently have the "normal" folio case but have the keyboard case on order. I just think it might stand a little better on my lap.
