Mine crashed once yesterday and once today. Both bug type 298. Before that it only crashed once a week. We are in the same boat here folks. Like the good old days os iOS 7 springboard crashes daily.

Really hope this gets fixed in the next update.

Same symptoms here. 128GB wifi. Happens to me when going back to the home screen from safari mostly. Did a restore but it has done it once since then. Not sure if playing exchange roulette is worth it - the screen on this one is the best iPad Air form factor display I have ever gotten, and as others have said it seems to be a software bug....but odd that some users manage to make it go away with exchanges.
Mine seems to happen as well when exiting safari or entering multitasking from safari. But its very random.

128GB wifi here as well if that means anything. Are people with 32GB models not getting the crashes??

Also would be nice if Macrumors picked this up to get some traction as a story. Its not a coincidence we are all getting the same 298 crash bug.

This isnt a RAM hardware issue. 2GB is plenty for iOS. The problem is whats called a memory leak. RAM is getting eaten up and not flushed out properly causing the system to crash. More RAM would only delay the crash. Not prevent it.

Lets not confuse the issue.

Agreed. People are assuming it's a hardware issue and running off to replace their iPad. It will eventually be fixed in a software patch.

I've only been seeing people with 128g iPads, also I haven't had a single crash since replacing mine, I think hardware is a factor

Your incorrect. The 128 is the most common from what I've seen. I haven't had a single crash since I put 9.3.2 on mine a couple of weeks ago but that doesn't mean it's fixed. Springboard crashes are usually software. Complete shutdowns or reboots could be either.

i replaced mine went 5 days then it started crashing it also did it on 9.3.2 beta 1 and beta 2 just got beta 3 haven't had a chance to test it

Everyone who's having the crash please check your diagnostics for jetsam event. I can confirm that com.apple.webkit is what the largest process is when these crashes occur when exiting safari to the home screen

Open safari and change to another app without using the home button. The crash happens once a day, if you are a lucky one

The issue is hard to always reproduce......yes it usually happens when using the gestures.

I have a bug report into Apple and they asked for my crash logs. It's definitely a safari issue /multitasking issue. Almost everyone here is having the problem when exiting safari or going into multitasking from safari. There's most likely a memory leak with safari or the springboard (multitasking, home screen, app switcher) that is causing the crash. This hopefully gets fixed ASAP as its a hindering experience.

Can anyone with the 9.3.2 beta check to see if it's fixed at all??

Also there's a lengthy discussion thread ongoing on apples discussion forums as well. So we are not alone here. Hoping for a speedy fix. For now if it's a major issue for anyone I would suggest switching to chrome or another browser and seeing if that helps. Other are reporting that it's not happening with other browsers if you try to cut out safari altogether. ANOTHER reason for Apple to let us use our own default apps.

I'll digress a bit here but these are the kinds of problems we hope to avoid by using Apple products. If they're going to " add features" and complicate iOS more then we should have a bit more control over things so we don't have to wait weeks or months for Apple to issue an iOS update.
