I agree haha. I have already been contemplating selling my macbook pro as I have no need for it and picking up a mac mini for home. I'm thinking the Mac Mini will suffice for home computing needs in the office and an iPad Pro 12.9 or 9.7 will suffice for mobility. I do worry I will make up some reason as to why I need the 12.9 and 9.7 which will probably lead to my wife filing for divorce.

"Honey, how did we spend 2 grand at the Apple Store this month??"
"Um, it was just 2 iPads sweetie!"
"2 iPads?? I thought iPads were only like $499? And don't we only need one?"
"Um, it's ok, we will use them and pass them down to the kids, it's an investment!"
"One of these is going back or you're sleeping on the couch tonight."
"God dammit!"

I ordered mine from AT&T, and it is showing a shipping date of 3/30 with overnight shipping. 128 Rose Gold.

32g Space Grey here. I went with the cheapest to catch the least aggro from the wife. My Apple Pencil has been shipped, still processing the iPad itself.

I'd love to pick up a 256GB iPad pro to replace my iPad Air 2 but can't until iOS 9.3 is jail broken. Otherwise I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth with unlimited data if I couldn't download my iTunes TV shows or update apps bigger than 100MB.

128GB Silver Wi-Fi for me! Ordered the pencil too.

Kinda wanted the keyboard, but will need to check it out in person first. Not sure what to do about a case (which is dependent on the keyboard decision). Kinda just want a clear TPU to not distract from the aesthetics of the device.

But then again, something folio style to hold it upright would be useful lol sigh

I decided to take the plunge and buy it. 128 GB Space Gray with Cellular. Also got the Smart Keyboard, Pencil and Charcol Gray case.

Coming from and iPad Air 1, I think it was worth it. I've tried the 12.9" Pro in the Apple Store twice and I believe right now it's too heavy to use. I like the size of the 9.7" iPad. I use it at a desk but also when I lay down in bed.

The main thing I didn't like about the Air 1 was that it didn't support Split View. I think I will use that a lot. I know it works on Air 2 but do you think it will work well on the 9.7" Pro?

As of 6AM this morning:

Smart Keyboard = Shipped 3/25, Delivery 3/30
Silicone Case = Preparing for Shipment, Delivery 3/29-3/31
iPad Pro 9.7" = Processing Items, Delivery 3/31

As well as it does on the Air 2. It's really a function of screen real estate in my opinion, and not the RAM right now. I can triage e-mail and build my todo list fine on the smaller screen (especially since the task list can use the smaller "phone" width view). I do use split screen pretty much daily at some point, but not constantly. I like to focus on one thing, and only bring up the split view when it's relevant to the task (research notes, etc).

But the 12.9" definitely has an advantage if you are going to split screen two things that need the space frequently (say, Word doc and a browser).

Yup, I actually had Apple ship a Verizon nano-SIM 2 day air to me. Doesn't really help me. And yes, I managed to upsell myself onto the Cellular (turns out there's some plan discount fun I can play to keep my monthly cell bill the same, and add the tablet to it).

Jesus man what are you gonna do with that many gigs?!
I have a lot of games, comics, movies and music. Filled the 128gb up. Prefer local over cloud due to travel. Local content has no problem with no data connection.

Get both then buy her a Louis Vuitton bag to shut her up ;)

Thanks. I feel like most of the time I'd want to use one app at once but there are certainly times I'd want to use two at once. I felt like that was one of the main limitations with the iPad. But now with Split View that limitation is gone.

one draw back of 12.9 is that a lot of apps are not optimized for the screen resolution, they look super ugly....

Is it just me or is it surprising that they already changed the status to 'preparing for dispatch'?
Also, does anyone know when the smartcases etc. are gonna be available in store? Is it gonna be the 31st?
I know they're already for sale on the apple store, but i'd like to see them live, before I decide.

It's not surprising at all. It's happened before with Apple preorders that were taken a week before shipment.

You might be right. I'm kind of regretting getting the red cover now...

I have to agree it's not a good colour combination. I've also ordered a rose gold model and whilst I prefer red and have a red Smart Cover for my Air 2 which is silver I don't think it will look good with a rose gold model. I think the stone and midnight blue will look best. I will probably go with midnight blue if I get one. The stone like the white will likely look a lot dirtier over time.

You could exchange it in store for another color when it arrives. I ordered 128gb LTE Rose Gold and went with the light pink this time. White looks good too, but I have that on my gold 128 LTE 12.9" and it gets dirty faster than I'd like. :)

I'm not sure about the US but in general you can't exchange Apple products bought online in an Apple Store. You normally have to either send it back and exchange it for them to deliver the right one or send it back and get a refund then buy one in store.

I'm planning on getting a clear case for the back just as I did for my Air and Air 2. I don't see the point in getting a certain colour iPad if you're just going to cover the back with a solid colour case. I'm still not set on the keyboard and will need to try it out in person first. I may just end up getting a Smart Cover instead. I'm still waiting for someone to offer a clear case for the back that is compatible with the pro. I haven't seen any for sale or preorder online yet.

I concur. There's actually one on Amazon that's compatible that'll ship the 31st or so:https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01A...clear+case&dpPl=1&dpID=51RpD4zHODL&ref=plSrch

I just don't like the grips or overprotective corners of it; so I'll wait for another.
