This.
I find it hard to pay so much money for some silicon.
We all know that in a few days/weeks there's going to be thousands of third party ones (starting at only a few £/$ no less), one to suit whatever you like, but we want some sort of protection from the get go...At least if you want to resell it in the future.
I like now they are separated because you can make nice colours combinations with them

That's a good price.
I do wonder, with both the apple and third party one, if the case will affect the speakers as they're going to be covered by the case. Hmm...

This is the same case on the 12.9" Pro. I imagine they'll make the speaker cutouts the same.

Came from home today to find a 5% coupon from Target(no red card needed to be used). Fine print showed it excluded Apple products. Set up an order for a 128GB Wifi + Cellular model and the site accepted the coupon plus the 5% red card discount. So I completed the order and saved 10%. Had to pay $15 for expedited shipping to ensure deliver on the 31st but still a good deal. Order shows up as no tax either for some reason and the charge is pending on my account as well.

Went ahead and canceled my order through the Apple education store for a 128GB wifi only model which was $20 cheaper than retail. Figured with the nice weather coming up and the desire to eat lunch in my car on nice days it would be worth getting the cellular version and take advantage of T-Mobile 200MB of free data or pay for one of the cheap prepaid plans as I need it.

Thanks for the heads up about this. I didn't get the coupon, but customer service was nice enough to get me sorted and I cancelled my Apple preorder. I didn't realize Target was doing preorders and that I wouldn't pay sales tax through them. $675 for the 128GB vs. 800 (only $75 more than I paid for my 64GB Air 2). I'll take it!

For me it was $790 for the 128 Wifi vs $808 for the 128 Cellular. Worth the few dollar difference even if I don't make much use of the cellular version. Of course I could have just stuck with the Wifi version for about $690 but I think I will make enough use of the Cellular feature enough to make it worth while.

Finally changed to "Preparing for shipment", but still shows March 31st to Aug4th as possible delivery date. I really hope that waking up at 3AM doesn't get me an iPad after the launch date :(

Awesome :) I wasn't paying attention and didn't choose expedited shipping on my Target order, so I guess I'll be waiting a little longer. I can practice losing the Apple Pencil and extra tips while I wait.

If you were like me, here in Canada we didn't have the option for different shipping methods...

Pre orders via Staples started today and I went through them because I have a bunch of gift cards for them. What stinks is that my new ipad will be delivered the following week and I will be out of town for work.

I guess they won't actually ship the iPads until after the Easter holidays. Being impatient is sooo hard:rolleyes:

The nice thing about these people disappointed with the new iPad is that ours will ship sooner. Ready for the 31st!

Good thing I cancelled my order with Apple last night when I did or I would be stuck having to mail it back or drive up to the Apple Store to return it.

Just joined the game, actually I made quite a bad mistake for an Apple fan... I forgot pre-orders opened on the 24th and only remembered to get my order in about an hour ago! But by some miracle, in the UK at least, delivery dates are still for launch day! So very relieved about that! (128gb space grey)

I assume the new iPad Pro 9.7 ships with iOS 9.3.

Wonder what kind of issues our new $1,000 iOS devices will come with?

Pathetic Apple.

Got mine from B&H so it won't be shipped until the 31st. For $100 savings on sales tax, I'm perfectly willing to wait 3 extra days to receive mine. :p

Typically devices ship only 3 days prior to the street date. They hustle them from China to your doorstep. It is quite amazing.

Sit tight.

Do you think they will come direct from China or a local warehouse? My 6S was a launch day delivery and that came from a local warehouse based in the UK. Much more fun to track it all the way from China though ;)

Anyone see preparing for ship in the UK?

Question for all the 256gb orders, what do you store on an ipad that takes up 256gb?
256GB will allow me to consolidate.

On my 128GB iPad 4:
90GB comics/manga/manhwa
15GB apps (including GPS navigator app with offline maps)

On my 64GB iPad 3:
35GB videos (really isn't much, I still need to transfer content quite often which gets to be annoying)
10GB apps

It's $300 more compared to the 32GB model for something I will use daily for likely at least 2 years. If you amortize the cost over the period of ownership, that's just $12.50/mo or around $0.41/day. For me, that's totally worth avoiding the hassle of having to frequently replace content on the iPad.
