128GB WiFi Space Gray 9.7 Pro ordered. Going to put my Air 2 for sale in a few days.

I wasn't going to order originally after it was discovered about the under clocked processor and 2GB of Ram but the display and speakers drew me in. Not having to put money aside for other things anymore definitely helped my decision as well.

32gb 9.7" Gold Pro ordered to replace the wife's 2011 iPad 2. Ordered the Apple Pencil as well. Delivery date 3/31, having placed the order at 12:15am PST.

I don't think it has anything to do with being cheap or not. If you only need 32GB, why get more?!

Yup. This.

I ordered the 128GB Space Grey Wifi. Can never justify the Cellular models for how little I use it. i just tether the 2-3 times a year I need it. Also wish they would offer another color with black bezels.

I do want to get a cover for it, so I'll get a bit of color that way I guess. Not thinking I'll get a smart keyboard, as I actually like a smart cover + Apple Wireless Keyboard combo for when I do need a keyboard.

My only worry is that I'll justify having both in my head. Thinking it's good financial sense to return the 12.9 asap haha.

I agree haha. I have already been contemplating selling my macbook pro as I have no need for it and picking up a mac mini for home. I'm thinking the Mac Mini will suffice for home computing needs in the office and an iPad Pro 12.9 or 9.7 will suffice for mobility. I do worry I will make up some reason as to why I need the 12.9 and 9.7 which will probably lead to my wife filing for divorce.

Jesus man what are you gonna do with that many gigs?!

I travel a lot, internationally. So it's always good to carry everything I will need with me, especially on the flight
And I take a lot of pics, I always import them to my iPad and use UDP to upload my photos to my own server, that way I free up my SD cards and make backups ASAP

I have been considering the same, selling my MacBook and just having an iPad, for a couple years now. I wish I could, just a few use cases left until I can do it. I am hoping for maybe a mac mini the size of an apple tv in June. Guess we'll see. Haha yea you don't want that to happen.

Would you ever consider using something like iCloud for your photos?

That would be indeed too expensive. I got a 1tb+ photo library Plus when traveling internationally the internet will not always be so fast (Apple will have to shoot those data across the oveans, where bandwidth is very limited), have some local copy isn't bad

Normally I got around ~60-70g on my iPad constantly. All documents kinda stuff. So I think I'd pay $150 to get doubled space. Which gives me a lot more flexibility when traveling
The iPad will be my only device when traveling

Depends on what you shoot. If you are using a DSLR or the like with RAW, I would not want to be using iCloud to move those around. I do tend to take the final JPEG exports to iCloud for sharing/etc. But I would be doing something similar to SFTP them to my NAS for processing when I get home.

Went with the the gold ipad with midnight blue smart cover. Not a fan of that silicone case, will looke for a minimal back skin.
im thinking of getting either the lilac or midnight blue silicone case. i don't like them either, but i have a toddler who manages to get everywhere, i need some peace of mind:rolleyes:

So far the online Apple Store is not sold out. This bodes well for quick price drops. :)

Since when does Apple quickly drop the price on anything? Not being sold out on the first day of orders just means that maybe they have an adequate supply at launch for once.

Not Apple. I've mentioned this already in several threads, but Target had a 15% off 12.9" iPad Pros within a month of the official 12.9" iPad Pro launch. More supply than demand will encourage resellers to offer various deals such as the still-ongoing $150 off at Staples and $100 off at Best Buy and BH Photo Video etc.

should have sold that puppy days ago ;-).. I just sold my air 1 64GB wifi cell for 340$. and that was a high water mark.. maybe 400$ for a air 2, but with Air 2 64GB wifi+cell going for 569$ refund on apple.com getting more than about 425$ is going to be hard.
