I assume the new iPad Pro 9.7 ships with iOS 9.3.

Wonder what kind of issues our new $1,000 iOS devices will come with?

Pathetic Apple.

None because we aren't getting an iPad 2. I'm on 9.3 on my Air currently and have no issues..

Mine says preparing for shipment as well. Freaked my credit card company out tho.

I wonder if we will get our pre order iPads before Thursday. There should be some advantage to pre spending (ordering). :D
Lol, I guess my credit card company is already so used to seeing me drop a few grand every now and then at electronics stores. I really should get the Citi Double Cash for higher cashback.

I have that card and it is AWESOME! I pretty much get $50 a month back directly deposited into checking.

And, mine says "preparing for shipment" too!
[doublepost=1459101449][/doublepost]My Smart Keyboard still lists Shenzen departure as the last event. 3 days seems like an awfully long time for a plane to cross the Pacific...

Just gone to preparing :D not bad considering I only ordered this morning! Strange though that the pencil hasn't changed to preparing also, that would suggest that the iPads might be getting sent to us straight from China since they seem to be working over Easter whereas the pencil is almost certainly going to be shipped from within the country and we won't see movement until after the Easter weekend.

Typically devices ship only 3 days prior to the street date. They hustle them from China to your doorstep. It is quite amazing.

Sit tight.

Only 3 days before? That really is impressive, especially considering how far it has to travel.

I would say it comes from US. I Could be wrong, but since they already have to ship them to stores ahead of launch. I would guess they are already in US.

EDIT: just saw your in the UK. I would still bet that its fairly local.

Guess we will find out.

Oh gosh, not me. I hold on to my stuff for a fair bit of time. Don't have the money to be upgrading all the time. Plus, as much as I enjoy my gadgets, they are used for getting stuff done. So not really a need to upgrade till its absolutely needed.

That's for later pre-orders. Stock for retail stores seem to get shipped first. Then the earlier pre-orders. I've occasionally seen my purchase on hold for a couple of days at the local FedEx facility because it arrived prior to release. Then there are the later pre-orders (or if the product is just really popular as is the case with the iPhone 6+) and it's pretty impressive to track them from China to my doorstep in just 2 days (iirc, it actually arrived on same date owing to the time difference). :D

I can't even begin to imagine the logistics of that. o_O

Lol, I don't spend that much ($2,500) in a month to get that kind of cash back. Maybe if I can put rent on my credit card.

Oh, I don't do it super often. Just often enough not to be red flagged. Hey, I'm still using an iPad 4 and Air. Granted, I typically have a $1-3K spend on electronics every year (not necessarily on Apple products). Right now, I'm also absolutely tempted to get the 12.9" iPad Pro 128GB LTE ($950 at B&H) but I've got other priorities.

My order for 2 iPhone SE and one iPad Pro 9.7" shows as "preparing for shipment."
While a longtime Apple consumer, this is the first time I've ever preordered the devices. Should be exciting to track their progress across the ocean and to my doorstep.

Has anyone seen anything further than preparing to ship? Anything showing up in UPS MyChoice yet?

Nope. But I expect something to happen soon, at least for the early preorders (thanks to the time difference)

As I said earlier I was pretty late to the game this time, and I got preparing to dispatch within the hour after ordering today. And considering it's Easter and all that I was really surprised! So perhaps tommorow or at the latest Tuesday we will see some more movement :)

Out of curiosity, has anyone with a Cellular version gone to prepared for shipment yet? Still expect it on the 31st, but it is interesting trying to figure out patterns.
