Okay. So it's an incremental update to the iPad Air that has a series of deficiencies that make it inacurately marketed as an iPad Pro purely because it's most prominent feature is compatibility with proprietary accessories that may or may not be useful. Got it. Plain and simple.
Note: Apologies for the snark, but the reason for my attitude is because mother called saying she wants a new iPad because hers is full. I sent her to Apple.com and spent 30minutes explaining why two models were given the same name but differing specs, why the Air and Pro9.7 looked exactly alike but were different, and why to NOT get the iPad Mini 2 because it is the exact same thing as her iPad Mini with Retina Display.
I'm not saying these things can't be figured out, I'm just saying that things were much easier 3 years ago when you said "Air or Mini" and the average consumer got exactly what the label said.
(BTW, The happy ending with this story is that mom gave up and told me to decide. So I'm selling her our Air2 and now can easily justify the Pro9.7. Win/Win)
