Is the smart keyboard available in the UK? I can only see a Logitech one, which looks bulky compared to the Apple one.

Yeah you do have to figure in the taxes, and then as far as I know it's pretty much exchange rates that determine the rest.
Which means that the iPad Pro starts off as an admittedly pricey beast, and then for some countries (such as NZ) it becomes even pricier. That's life.

Can someone explain to me what the iPad pro does better so much that it's worth almost double the iPad Air 2?? Other than the obvious size increase and incremental CPU upgrade (oh and the pencil...)???

Surprised Pencil and keyboard aren’t available at launch

I think I'll wait for the reviews - on here not the mainstream press

Nothing quite like real world usage is there ?

The pencil presumably needs something different in the manufacturing of the (larger) screen to make it work. I also think there will be Pro only apps released (in fact is that already true with the Adobe stuff?):

@Gymgenius US shops generally don't include tax. Add 20% to the US price and it is much closer to the UK one, thought we are still paying a premium.

There is no VAT in the US - Tax rates are at most 8.75%. There is still an uplift outside of US - all US-based companies that do their accounting in US$ do it to compensate for fluctuation. It's a great product no doubt, but at this price point it ends up being a Gucci, Dior, Coco Channel type deal - just like the watch.

Scratch that - it is on the UK store but I had to search for it (it wasn't shown as an option at purchase of the iPad pro like the Logitech keyboard which is strange) Ships in two weeks like the pencil.

Actually it is

£400 odd from air 2 to £799 so it pretty much is
I think I've got it. The UK price for iPad Air 2 was set when it came out, and for iPad Pro when it came out. Different exchange rates.

So the true conversion is 1.3.
All the other countries get conversion rates in line with the two exchange rates at the time.
The rate in NZ on this one works out to 1.5

Really - that's cool. I'm actually in Eltham today so may drop buy on my way back. Did they look like they had plenty of stock?

No 128gb cell version in grey. But they have 128gb cell in white and gold. They also have pencils and the keyboards but need to unpack them.

1079$ from 829$ is not doubled...so?
128wifi+lte

$1249 AUD for 32gb(wifi) and I paid $649 for my 64gb iPad Air 2(wifi) brand new on eBay a few months ago (so probably cheaper now). I know that's abit less than double the price but then take into account you are getting 32gb less and you definitely are paying more than double...
