It seemed a little vague on exactly when they will be showing up in Apple stores; "later this week". I'm wondering what day to take off to stand in line at the Apple store.

Question I have.. will they prevent anther failure like ATV4:

- Pre-order on 11th
- Devices ship the 12th
- Some orders arrive on the 13th
- iPad Pro pops up in Apple Stores all over the world, are in stock
- Saturday: iPad Pros pop up at reailers
- Friday 20th... some people who ordered on the 11th still didn't get their device

If it happens again, the supply chain at Apple has some serious issues at the moment.

Wow I didn't realize the ATV4 launch had issues like that. I just assumed it went smooth. Apple really hasn't had a great track record with launches of late if include the Apple Watch and Macbook.

Usually 12:00 am PT / 3am EST
Either that or like the Apple TV much earlier in the day. It's was 5pm for me in Australia for the iPhone launch and 11.30pm for the Apple TV.

Just sell it in stores and get it over and done with

Confirmed for preorder 11th online and delivery 13th!!!

Apple's press release does not mention the 13th. Only that it will be in stores "later this week," which could mean as late as the 14th. It also says that anyone who buys one in an Apple store will be offered free help with set-up, so you can leave the store ready to go.

But this is great news, that availability is narrowed down to three days, with Thursday being unlikely, IMO, so almost certainly either Friday or Saturday.

Later this week could mean the 11th or 12th for all we know... Tomorrow is later this week. It's very nondescript. I wouldn't assume anything.

Believe me, it was messy. In the US they even charged for "delivery next day", but the couriers messed up. In my case, DHL was not able to ship on friday though Apple sent out a SMS they were on their way. Just don't pre-order and go to the nearest Apple store. Or.. wait 1-2 days and pick on up at a reseller.

I maybe wrong but since Apple hasn't called out a specific time I have a feeling preorders won't be a 12:00AM PST.

I think it's clear that availability will be after the pre-order date. If it was going to be the same day, they'd have said that. So, pre-order on the 11th, and availability this week but after the 11th. I.e., the 12th, 13th, or 14th.

Well this may be encouraging. I was at Best Buy a little while ago and one of the salesman I talk to frequently was making room in the cage where iPads and MacBooks are stored. He stated they should have the Pro on Wednesday and thought they would have enough to accommodate folks looking for it so no preorder at BB that he knew of. He could not elaborate on if it would go on sale Wednesday though.

Well, now that we know pre-order is Wednesday and the iPP will be available by Saturday at the latest, I'm bored. There's nothing more to talk about here. Apple is evil!!! They've deprived us of our entertaining unfounded speculation.

Just saw an Ipad Pro commercial during the NFL game tonight between the Bears and Chargers. I guess it just gets more agonizing seeing it but not able to get one's hands on it. Damn you, Apple. :)

I'm really torn as to if I should pre-order on the 11th or take my chances and go to an Apple store. lol

Or you could do both. Pre order than if it shows up in the Apple Store before the delivery (like with the ATV) then cancel or return the pre order and pick up one at the Apple Store. That's what I will probably do since I got "burned" on the ATV.

It will definitely be the best tablet on the market, for a little while, until the iPad Pro 2, or until some other company comes out with something better. The Pencil will be the best thing of its type: You'll be able to take notes with it easily.

HOWEVER, Do you really need a $1,000 tablet to take notes in school? It boggles my mind that someone in school even has that much money to spend on a note-taking device. An iPad Air or even an iPad Mini would work just as well for taking notes in class and would be much lighter to carry around. Turn off the keyboard clicks and type your notes, which you can (or should be able to) do much faster than writing with a pencil. The Pro is serious over-kill for taking notes in class.
I also like to play games with it and whatnot, I had an iPad but just need something bigger for myself in a tablet. And I am sorry but I work close to 40 hours a week while full time computer science student and university of south carolina and have myself well off money wise since I have learned from past mistakes of my brothers..lol

I just like bigger screen for notes, games, and hopefully want to find apps to use for programming while on the iPad

It's your hard earned money so you don't have to justify your purchase to anyone ;)

Yeah yeah I know I know. Just hate when people assume college kids are broke and can't afford to buy stuff for themselves. Which is far from true. Bought my own MacBook, iMac, brand new car, full time student, and work close to full time and just started my other job lol

You should be proud of yourself and I'm sure that your parents are too!

I wish I could do that, but no funds will be available if I order online. I could call the apple store and then have them cancel it and see if they would allow me to buy it in-store... but i doubt it, as refunding my money will take days. #IHateFirstWorldProblemsSuchAsThese... lol

I'm debating an iPad pro. You guys think it's best tablet on the market?

It's the best table on the market in the sense that the Hummer H1 is the best motor vehicle on the road. The problem is that most people have no need of the abilities of the H1 and would never take advantage of them. The iPP is probably somewhat similar in the tablet world. There are some artists and graphics people for whom this will be brilliant. For most of us? Just a big, expensive piece of bling. And don't forget: it will be harder to find a parking space for it.
