Apple will not compromise on battery life. This will probably mean a thicker and heavier iPad. I'm not really looking forward to that.

If it solves the vibrating issue of the Air 2, then I'm all for it. That's the reason I returned it.

Are we all now required to say "in my opinion" when stating our opinions lest we be labeled a troll? I think it was pretty obvious that Noble Actual's post was his opinion. I don't feel like anyone needed to point that out.

In my opinion, of course.

On here you also have to apologize for said opinion. State that you hope it doesn't offend someone. Make sure its culturally acceptable and make no reference to color of any kind, or else you will be deemed a racist.

This is in my opinion and Im sorry. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but it's pretty black and white to me.

Oh dammit.

I recognize that you're trying to demonstrate absurdity by being absurd, but in a forum like this it does help to qualify your statements a little bit since we miss a lot of subtext when communicating via text. Making declarative statements without any context in a forum like this can come across as "trolling", like it or not.

It's not that hard to say "The iPad Pro is too big for me", or "I think the iPad Pro is too big". It may seem like pointless nuance, but in communication nuance is important if you want your point to get across; if you don't want to be bothered, then be prepared for others to help add context for you.

In regards to opinions...

Adding "I think or for me" isn't needed if you're a reasonable minded person that doesn't get triggered easily.

Saying "the iPad Pro is too big..." is already an opinion itself.

My username is literally right next to my post which means I'm the one saying it. Did I say I was speaking for everyone else? Did I say that "the iPad Pro was too big for you...or for op? with their name next to my post?"

Nope.

Did I tell op, after reading his comically correlated opinion that a good deal and better specs = if you don't buy this, you're basically stupid (see below why that doesn't make sense), that that was his opinion?

Nope.

-------------

In regards to being declarative...

Lets look at who was the first to actually be the guy was declarative.

Title of thread: iPad Pro vs iPad Air 3 (Versus is already implying a fight between them. Why not by your logic, "I think the iPad Pro is better than iPad Air 3")

Choice of words in op: "confirmed" (when in fact nothing has been confirmed. "the best" (that phase is always used in relationship to an opinion) "absolutely" (again, this is used in a relationship to an opinion).

So "the best", "absolutely" are opinions. Exactly the same as when I said "too big". Why didn't op say "I think (the best value)" based on your logic?

There is literally nothing declarative about an opinion that ends with ....

-------------

In regard to trolling...

So you think this is trolling:
Noble Actual: iPad Pro is too big...

Which means if I said this, it certainly would not be trolling....
Noble Actual: iPad Pro is too big, anyone else who says it isn't is ****ing retarded.

Are you implying that instead of saying "iPad Pro is too big....", I should have literally started by saying "That is your opinion."

LMAO. That would literally start a flame/trolling war.

-------------

In conclusion...

- I'm not going to apologize or type more words because its my opinion.

- Posts telling someone to do something on the internet is quite pointless.

- The basic idea of a forum is to talk about opinions without needing say "This is my opinion".

- OP is too easily triggered. Crying "trolling" because people disagree with you is childish. Also stating facts or confirming things when they haven't been confirmed is just not smart.

- OP supporters are too easily triggered. Did not say iPad Pro sucked like ****. Simply said "iPad Pro is too big..."

- None of this actually matters because op will probably be returning his iPad Pro and buying the new 'iPad Air 3 Pro' and I will probably ditch my iPad Air 2 and buy the new 'iPad Air 3 Pro'.

Pro all the way, Air just feels like a toy in comparison. The larger screen estate is excellent for Remote Desktop, reading graphic novels, gaming, browsing and drawing, love it.

I have gone iPad 2 to iPad 3 to iPad 4 to iPad Air to iPad mini to IPad Air to iPad mini retina to IPad Air 2 to iPad Pro.

Can't see me going smaller again and never to a mini again.

I'm also using an ipad 2. Have been eyeballing the Air 2's since they were released. Almost bought one when the price dropped last month (?) but didn't pull the trigger. With the rumors of a new release (whatever the name) I figure I'll just wait a few weeks and see what they offer.

I spent some some playing around with the IPP instore and definitely liked it. Really thought about buying one, but TBH I'm sure most of the features are lost on me. I have no need for a "pro" device. The pencil is cool but from what I understand it is really only useful for the drawing apps, which I don't use. My eyes don't work as well as they used to and the bigger screen was nice for surfing and writing and watching a video on that screen was amazing. In the end, it was just too much money for an ipad IMO.

When they release the new one (I'm totally guessing here) the price of the Air2 will drop. If the new one is just a smaller version of the IPP, with the same RAM and storage and is not that much more $$ than an Air 2, then it will be hard to pass up. Either way, the upgrade from an ipad 2 with 16g will be huge.

Think once you have a screen this big for me it's impossible to go smaller ever again

In my opinion this was one of the biggest benefits, along with the pencil and speakers. I could never go back to a smaller screen and enjoy the iPad as much. I find myself using the iMac less as the larger screen enables be to do more on the iPad Pro.

It is not so much a IPP vs Air 3 but rather what suits the individual and their current needs. Freedom of choice will be good for everyone.

Can't wait to hear your review; "The iPad Air Pro 3 is the right size." ;) Just kidding; I hope it's an awesome tablet and meets your needs. The rumors so far sound promising; I like the idea of an iPad Pro Mini, though I wouldn't want a smaller iPP personally since I use it in lieu of my rMBP when out and about.

No single device fits the bill for every need, or every person, as evidenced by dissenting views. The great thing is that Apple provides us with options. I may use my 6s+ one minute, only to grab the Mini 4, only to use my iPP.
Purchasing an iPP 128 for 799.99 at Best Buy (unopened) makes it an even easier decision over what will be released.

In its current state, I don't see the benefit of the larger screen. That could change should iOS and apps be enhanced/improved to take advantage of the larger screen size.

I've seen quite a few comparison videos and the thing that stands out is how there isn't a significant difference in screen presentation within apps between the Pro and Air 2... apps on the Pro seem to be more "magnified" rather than displaying more of the app's controls and features. (yes, there's a bit more on the Pro, but not as much as there should be given the differences in screen size) Should this improve, I'll give the Pro another serious look.

i dont think The Game 161 is talking about the benefits of a larger screen. He's literally talking about the joy and beauty of the shear size, whether it's 'better' or not.
standing on the sidelines and demoing/testing these things are great, but until you live with one day in day out you wont be hooked.
i agree, benefits or not, the awesomeness of the huge screen on ipad in your hand makes going back to a regular size ipad impossible for me too :)

LOLWUT?

Joy and beauty?! But not "better"? That's some twisted logic there. "Ah, the joy and beauty of the shear size of the iPad Pro even though it is worse to have a larger screen" somehow doesn't sound right. :p

For some people, first-hand experience is required. For others, their experience gives them a framework from which to make an informed decision as well as learning from what others say who have a trusted track record.

Some people need to put their hand in the fire to understand that they'll get burned, others can make that conclusion based on intuition, deductive reasoning, and what happens to other people.

I simply explained that in my opinion, based on my first-hand experiences, the iPad Pro's larger size is not appealing to me AT THIS TIME. Your response is, "well, you really don't know until you actually own one." I suspect that even after a prolonged test drive (30+ days), if I was still of the same opinion, you'd find some other reason as to why my opinion is flawed.

It might just be my imagination, but when I pick up my Air 2, the screen looks fuzzier compared to iPP. So count me in as another "can't go back to the Air" vote.

I don't get the pro naming, it's a bit silly IMHO, call it iPad and iPad Plus, then the iPad mini, drop the numbers it's getting silly, same with the iPhone drop the numbers, they don't call it iMac 15 or where that is at or MacBook Pro 20. If they want a pro model then make some big updates to iOS.

I love the iPads and I'll likely be buying this air 3 or pro mini or whatever they call it, as my iPad 3 is pretty laggy now and needs an update. Hope they keep the pricing the same as the Air 2 and keep the 64gb option.

Ive yet to go check this pro iPad out, think I might make a swing by bestbuy and check it out, you don't find the screen too big for the hands for when your chilling on the couch or in bed?

Because I am a troll, I will still post negative crap about the iPad even if I get it.

Actually I'm like 90% sure the purpose of MR is to actually talk **** about Apple. That, or how I got the perfect device because the display tint is cooler, made by Samsung, my battery life is better than yours, theres isn't a microscopic stand of dust on my screen, etc.

It's roughly the weight of the original iPad. Held "naked" in the hands, it's actually not that hard to hold, especially if you're sitting or lying down. Of course, it only makes sense to hold it in your hands if you're using it for media consumption purposes.

I am quite perplexed on what to do. Sold the iPad Air 32gb wifi/LTE with slightly cracked screen for $170 tonight. Only to find out they pushed back the event.

Now what iPad to buy. My personal opinion is the 9.7 is the sweet spot for Apple. The 12.9 Pro was never meant for the average consumer more geared toward enterprise. The mini is nice for portability but that's why I have a bigger iPhone 6s Plus for though.

The Pencil is not a deal breaker for me, however screen resolution is. If the 9.7 Pro is worse than the 12.9 Pro, then I might go for the larger version as this is strictly for family entertainment device. Can anyone confirm the rumor that the new iPad Pro 9.7 was going 4K for the screen? If so, this will be the choice.

While the specs are not great, the 12 inch Retina MacBook is in play as I absolutely love the design.

Guess I should just be happy that I sold an Apple device on Craigslist and lived to talk about it....

If your only skeptical about the larger screen on the ipp you are missing out. This device is amazing and the extra screen real estate is imo what multitasking on the iPad was meant to be on. You would get used to it and if not take it back as more rumors come out. At least you would have tried and realized you don't like it.

It’s not really just the videos/apps as you say due to how it’s formatted it doesn’t always adjust to the new size of the pro but it’s more for general web usage/pictures and just generally using it you get so used to the bigger size that going down to 9.7 would be tough.

When I got my pro and had my air 2 by hand It felt so small it would just be tough to go down a size. With the apple smart keyboard the size isn’t an issue for me as it’s basically like using a laptop for my needs.

You are correct. Logically, objectivly and coming from a techie point of view that logic sounds screwy and wrong.
But, i never post here with logic and objection. Im not knowlegable enough to do that. Im a non techie. I always post with a subjective amd emotional response, and i always relate my comments to me. I think... In my view... My opinions etc etc, as to not tell people what they should be thinking.
So for me, the larger beauty of the Pro is much nicer than the smaller regular ipad. Even if the regular ipad does have a better screen. I dont know this of course. It's rare i'll ever post here with techie advise and direction.

As for not owning one, well thats up to you of course, i only relate things to myself. Im under no illusion or confusion as to why people wouldnt not prefer the larger screen.
I appoligise if i missed a 'me, my, what i think' comment in any of my paragraphs. Perhaps i should really go though every word i post with a fine tooth comb as not to get misconstrued. Im really not here to cause offense or misslead people with wrong advises

:)
