ok so Apple OLED is one of the best, and you tried to say it was one of the worst, which was wrong

Impressive reasoning teacher.
LCDs were the best, OLED is not. The rest is kool-aid, quiet for a bit it'll eventually wear off.

I agree with the RAM and bezels part. The iPad Pro is already powerful enough but it's the OS that needs more "productive" features at this point. True multi tasking and the ability to run .exe in some virtualized fashion will steal away all the thunder of any Win or Android laptop/tablet for work functions.
I don’t think that the bezels Will be getting thinner anytime soon. I recall reading an interview with an Apple employee from back in 2018 when the pro launched, and they said that they could make the bezels thinner, but they didn’t because you still have to have space to hold the iPad. If the bezels were any thinner, there would be no way to hold the iPad with out accidental touchscreen input.
however, what I think they should do is move the front facing camera and the face ID sensors onto the side bezel, that way it’s not as awkward when you’re making a FaceTime call in landscape.

If you just bought a 2020 iPad Pro, don’t feel guilty. Really in retrospect, these are all pretty minor updates. There’s no design change, no big flashy new feature that you can’t get, just a screen and processor upgrade.
also, for those asking what the points of the 2020 iPad Pro update was, apples not gonna wait almost 30 months between iPad Pro refreshes. A smaller product like the Mac mini? Sure, updated every couple years. But the iPad Pro is one of their flagships, they want to keep it as up-to-date as possible. so they’re not gonna not update it between October 2018 and spring 2021, so they gave it a small stopgap update. They do the same thing with the MacBooks, every year or so, they get small speck bumps.

Customers walking into an Apple store or Best Buy will feel a lot more secure purchasing an iPad released in March 2020 than one released in October 2018. That’s why they released tiny speck bumps, so that way people will be buying something that’s new, not something from two years ago. it’s all about the marketing, it’s easier to market something that’s new, rather than something that’s almost 2 years old.
Most people aren’t paying attention to that in the Apple store.

That is so true. a complete waste of money both upfront & recurring each month. Just use your data from your phone, get unlimited & use 2 devices.
Yes tether is best if you have the chargers since it will drain the battery of the hotspot. The one thing that annoys me about the iPads is you can only get cellular through carriers that let you use their interest free installment plans. Apple needs to get the same installment plans for their Wi-Fi models without needing to get a credit card.

wow. This must make any idiot who recently shelled out $1,600 for a new loaded iPad Pro for the upgraded Tri-Lens camera.
thank god I didn’t and was able to resist the urge.
I shelled out $1200, so I’m 3/4 idiot! And it’s a dual-lens camera, poor me! I feel robbed!

In the meantime, I am really happy I got my 2020 12.9” and thus upgraded from Air 2. Guess I won’t need a new iPad for the next 5 years.

I don't think it's realistic to tell anyone to wait for another year for an iPad. It's still a great device with a speedy processor, loads of ram and a great camera. Let them enjoy it.

And that's not considering that until the next iPad is actually released, rumours of it being released early next year remain just that - rumours.

Yes. Lets not Forget that the iPad Pro early 2020 was originally supposed to be released in September 2019, according to some rumors. So it took seven additional months before it was released. If that were to happen again, we might not see this mini LED iPad Pro until the fall of 2021.
So if you need an iPad Pro now, buy it now!
Don’t wait another 9 to 12 months for a possible update that might take even longer.

Actually, allow me to rephrase. If you currently have a MacBook, or an iPad, or any type of computer that works perfectly fine, and you don’t need an update right now, and you can wait another year to year and a half, then go ahead and wait. If you need one now, or in the next couple months for the back to school season, or for work, or in anyway if you’re in the market for a iPad now, then just go ahead and buy now. because the truth is, there is never a perfect time to buy. If you buy one now, there will be a new one in 2021. And if you buy the 2021 iPad as soon as it comes out, in 2022 it will be out of date. So the truth is, just by when you need.

The truth is, there’s always going to be a better iPhone/iPad waiting in the wings so I mean....you gotta upgrade at some point. I knew a 5G LED iPad was on the way in the near future but my 2017 10.5 Pro just wasn’t getting it done for me anymore. I was originally going to replace it with the new 11” Pro but felt it wasn’t quite a big enough upgrade so I looked into the 12.9” and fell in love. I had always wanted one of these but never could justify the price until now. The cameras/LiDAR, doubling my previous storage space and a massive increase in screen size and resolution made it a winner in my book.

Now we see next year about the iPad being even more impressive but lets be honest, the 2020 iPads (and the 2018’s really) are going to be formidable for years to come.

Obviously there are different types of iPad users here. My 12.9” iPad Pro is my daily mobile powerhouse. I have multiple Mac Pros at the studio, but when I’m mobile I prefer an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil over a MacBook Pro.

I compose and playback entire symphonic sketches for film directors using StaffPad and Notion iOS, use many powerful synths, (Moog 15, Moog D, Audulus, wavetable and granular synths), give graphic intense music theory lectures with Keynote (which requires the best camera Apple can put in an iPad for music notation OCR, and I spend hours every day programing custom iOS based DAW controllers in Lemur and Metagrid for my clients.

My point in writing this is to say that iPads aren’t just for content consumption. My 1st gen iPad Pro just died yesterday and my productivity has already fallen behind. I had to quickly buy the new iPad Pro (love the camera which really improves music OCR, but wish it had the A14 and a little more RAM). Still, it’s a great iPad and loosing my last one so suddenly made me realize how dependent my daily workflow is on the iPad Pro and iPad OS (file system navigation and management is generally good enough and I feel like I really put iOS through its paces. Ok, it’s not the Finder but it does well enough when using iCloud with Wi-Fi).

There are very powerful iOS based applications being used by pros, and some content creators really appreciate having a triple lens camera on an iPad. I know I do.

Off soap box now.
