Yep another botched product launch
Thanks Angela
Because AT&T doesn't have any? How is the launch botched? You can get any model direct from Apple in a couple days. Every Apple Store near me has almost all models in stock for pickup, including the elusive SG LTE model. Apple has ample stock, 3rd paties are the ones that don't. Particularly the wireless providers. And, as pointed out above, that's probably on purpose so you buy from Apple and don't do carrier financing.

You can complain about supply of accessories, but not the iPads themselves.

Well - complaining about anything is fair game... Also - not everyone lives right next to an Apple Store or even within a few hours.

And besides all that - the LTE model requires a carrier to be functional - so if they are offering interest free financing it kinda makes sense to go through the carrier... Unless you are just Scrooge mcducking all day in your vault.

Apple makes money off of apps and accessories - accessories that require the iPad pro... So it's sorta in there interest to get as many as possible into customers hands.

They don't give them to AT&T for free to sell by the way..

.... And they don't make Apple any money sitting on a shelf occupying expensive retail space when there are already customers waiting for 2 weeks - it's just annoying customers - One is an Apple customer regardless where you buy it - it's about buying a Apple product and not buying it at the Apple Store! To leave channel partners out in the cold like that is bad business for Apple - period - it's another botched launch and I am sticking with it.

I think it's botched - what gives ?

Anyway - I never had a problem waiting out early in the morning taking my chances to get a new product release....now I still have to be up at 3amto order but then I have to wait 1-3 months to actually get the product and or accessories now.. It all feels a little botched lately.

The iPad and accessories should be available at the same time. If Apple is the only retailer for them. Then they should have delivered online orders first. Bad roll out.

Does anyone know if this is possible? (I assume so, just checking.) I dropped the ball on preordering through AT&T, so my earliest ship date is deep December. I want the 0% interest plan but also want to play with a new iPad for a month before I get it through AT&T, so I was considering just picking one up from my local Apple store and returning it when AT&T delivers mine.

I was actually thinking about that as well. I had gotten my iPP on 11/13 at the  Store... And it has a return date 8th of Janurary.

I haven't activated my iPad for cellular use just yet. Waiting on seeing if availability will pick up in AT&T retail stores. And being that I want the SG model.. Those are going to be hard to come by. But yeah, it's possible if you want to play with it... Since  provides a longer return period for the Chrismas holiday.

What does SG model mean? And why is it harder to find?

I'm hoping it gets sent by the Thursday which is the last day of shipping estimate. I paid for next day delivery, so hopefully this week!

Nothing here either and my order time shows as 3:08 AM on the 11th. I'd like to think i'm one of the first once midnight PST rolled around. Also, the 128gb SG

Wondering how much next day delivery is. I'm also wondering if I can still pay for next day even though it hasn't shipped yet. Tried to login to edit my order for shipping but the only option I get is to cancel. BTW no movement here either. Also supposed to be shipped out at the latest on Thursday.

I decided to jump on Target's Cyber Monday deal. 15% off all iPads (including the Pro), plus an additional 4% off for the Red Card. I got the Silver LTE model for $871.79. The nearly 20% savings is worth it to give up the 0% financing. Plus I'll get it by next Monday the latest, whereas my AT&T one still probably wouldn't be shipped by then.

Great deal! Congrats.. Just wondering - was space grey avail or did you prefer silver?

Just trying to get an idea what target had available today... What shipping method dos you choose? They guaranteed Monday delivery?

Just got off the phone with a local AT&T representative here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Locally there are no AT&T stores with ANY iPad Pro's in stock. They have to order online which is showing shipping times of 15-20 days if not longer. She advised that if I have an order online already in process the best bet is to wait for it to ship from them. Kind of a bummer. Guess not much else I can do. Local Apple stores show I can pick up today, but I'd rather wait for AT&T next and use them instead. Not worth breaking myself.

With that being said, I also called AT&T to see if the shipping days of 11/25 - 12/3 are still good, because it's only showing 3 days left for it to ship at the latest. The rep told me that those dates are accurate and that the holidays are taken into consideration when dates are given. So, AT the latest it should ship on the 3rd. And I can't change it to next day shipping either. The order cant be customized at this time.

Weird thing is when I called and went to my AT&T overview, it shows the active number for my cell phone and number for my iPad Air 2 as showing "PENDING ACTIVATION" which is puzzling because they are already active. No problems with my account or nothing. So when I asked about this, he says it means that there is a number pending activation for an order on file. So perhaps they are in the process of activating that number on my account and it will be added and shipped soon?! Fingers crossed. Still early in the day, but hoping I see movement before the 3rd!

Thanks for the update - sounds encouraging.
I am in the same boat than you, hoping for the same thing

I only checked for Silver, so I'm not sure. I saved it in my "items to buy later" cart or whatever it was called. So I just fired that up and applied to coupon at checkout to not waste time. The shipping/delivery says "Delivers by December 7" and I selected the standard shipping. Of course, like most online retailers, there's always a chance of them overselling and my order getting moved/cancelled. Although I've personally never had that happen with target.com orders. It looks like everything is now sold out online for delivery. The only options are for store pickup if any stores around you have them in stock. All Target stores within about 100 miles of me only have 32gb in stock, and the ones they do have say "limited quantity" so it won't even let you buy online for in-store pickup, which means you can't use the coupon.

I actually got lucky I guess. One of the dogs got me up at 3:08AM. The coupon code went live at 3:00AM, so I got in on it before most people were waking up and buying up all the good items. Apparently the coupon is so popular that target.com has been having issues all day. So hopefully my order still gets processed/delivered. I'm not cancelling my AT&T order until this one is in my hands.

FWIW, I called the 1-800 number as well (before I looked at the thread) as i'm going out of town for a few days on the 3rd and was going to cancel my overnight shipping if it wasn't going to be here before then. According to the rep, he was able to look at something more specific besides "In Progress" and said they are at the warehouse and it should be going out this evening or tomorrow morning. I made sure to ask "Well, it only shows in progress on my end" and he said that he saw that as well, but when he clicked for further information, he's showing they are at the warehouse.

Do I believe him? Eh ... sorta. Though it seems like a rather elaborate ruse and I was overly pleasant with him so he had no reason to lie, but who knows. Dallas is 3 hours south of me so overnight shipping isn't really a big deal anyway.

Cross your fingers :)

I'm with AT&T... I got my iPP on the 13th from . I haven't activated my iPad for cellular use just yet. But today.. I was just curious to check under T-Mobile. They have that 5GB 5 months plan for 10 bucks.

I decided to go ahead and try it out. If I had activated my iPad under AT&T.. I'll be paying 50 bucks in the span of 5 months, granted I could perhaps use more than 5 GBs in that span using my own AT&T plan. But 10 bucks for 5 GB... It's not bad at all.
