One of the great things about (most) Apple products is that they stand the test of time and pay for themselves.

Really? I purchased my iPad 1 new in 2010. By early 2012, it was next to useless, as it crashes every 5-10 minutes on iOS 5... The same story has happened to my iPod Touch 4G, which as of lately, crashes on most higher speced apps.

i can't believe how dumb people are

I can't believe how entitled, some people are to their opinions and would totally disrespect others.

I don't care if you have money or money, but if I had enough money (which I do, I guess), I would buy an iPad every six months. I still have iPad 1 cause I don't need one. I have a nexus 7 which is **** in usage; but I still don't need one.

These people want the latest greatest. You getting butthurt for this is more dumb.

You know I've upgraded at all 3 iPad launches, but now they're just refreshing the iPad too soon. I'm going to sit this one out. What happens when the complete refresh rather than the spec bump hits this spring? Everyone that upgrades now will feel cheated In the spring. This upgrade its too soon IMO.

I can't talk myself into spending $350 on a new 64gb iPad after selling my iPad 3 to Gazelle. The bump in speed isn't enough to warrant it, as I don't recall everything thinking that my iPad 3 was slow (though Apple is genius for planting that seed now).

Going from iPad 2 to 3 was worth it due to retina display. I'll wait until next year when a new iPad will have both the faster speed and some actual new features.

My theory has been that they needed to do this once to fix the release schedule. Apple has placed themselves in a bind with the iPad and iPhone releases being about 6-7 months apart. They can't make a revolutionary change to either without giving away the big surprise for the other, and they can't make a huge change that effects the way the devices are expected to run apps when they're both expected to run mostly the same applications and sit months apart on release cycles. This is something I've been waiting for Apple to just make a leap like this to fix.

There were so many complaints after yesterday It was hysterical, Ipad 3 owners all up in arms even ones who bought the ipad 3 as soon as they could get one, so If you look at 6 months of use divide that buy what you have left over after selling it used, I would say thats still a pretty good deal should you decide to upgrade. I still have a 1st generation ipad at home that gets used every day, I also have the 3rd which is an amazing machine, I really dont need it to be faster however would be nice if someone makes a reverse lightening adapter that could fit almost flush and clip in so I could use the new lightening cable which is a million times better.

Sold my iPad 3 32GB LTE and my wife's iPad 2 16GB to Best Buy yesterday for a total of just over $630.

Enough for a new iPad 4 32 gb wifi only (which is exactly what I want). Wife and I will get minis down the road (Christmas maybe).

is this just me or the only difference between iPad 3 and iPad 4 is... the lightning port !?

so hundreds of people reselling their new iPad, losing money in order to get the exact same iPad with Lightning ????

Why sell through Gazelle for lower than iPad's 2 price? Some people must be stupid. You can sell the the 64GB version for $500 through eBay.

And this is why the iPad Mini was priced at $329, instead of $249 or $299. Some people will do anything to have the latest and greatest iPad, iPhone, etc. Apple knew what they were doing.

CPU is twice as fast. This puts it more in line with the iPhone 5. If you like the latest and greatest iPad gaming, this may become noticeable at some point. Not everyone enjoys iPad gaming of course, and to them yeah it's basically just a new port.

$250? Not bad, not bad at all.

In all seriousness, these products have had a short lifecycle in terms of being on the market, but really, why would you give away something that works perfectly fine for half of the price?

One of the great things about (most) Apple products is that they stand the test of time and pay for themselves.

$250 is not bad?? Thats 50% of its launch value just 6 months ago and you consider that to be "standing the test of time", one only needs to look on eBay to see there offers are poor and not nearly at market rates. By using a service such as this your paying steeply for the convenience.

Never understood this mentality but, whatev. The iPad 3S isn't really worthy of an update IMO. My iPad 3 is still perfect and I don't intend on upgrading until the iPad is rocking a quad core and 128GB storage option......which better not happen next year.....then I'll be pissed.

That is, as Tim Cook puts, hardware and iOS working together to provide a smooth experience.

Good point about the gaming. I don't games much on the iPad. The only game where I notice any slowdown is that damn Simpsons Farmville ripoff when I have a bunch of stuff on screen at once. Don't think it's worth $350 to have my coins jiggle around faster on the screen. :)

I really think people underestimate how many people value "having the best, latest one out there". It's everywhere all over the tech community. Even here. Look around....LOTS - and I mean LOTS - of people are selling iPad 3rd gens as quickly as they can. They don't "need" the A6X. They just want the best. At any REASONABLE cost. Bleeding edge.

People who use sites like gazelle are clueless.
Also if you need to sell your gadgets in order to get the newest one, perhaps you need to re-evaluate whether you can truly afford it or not.

Yes, really, I used an iPhone 3G up until last year and just kept it on an earlier version of iOS that was suitable for it. It still did absolutely everything I wanted it to do when I ordered it on launch. The first generation iPad shipped with iOS 3.2, maybe you should look into settling with a version of iOS 4 on your iPad unless you absolutely need the latest and greatest.

If you really must sell your iPad quickly, I'd recommend JayBrokers over Gazelle any day.
If you do not need to sell quickly, then check out eBay or craigslist.

I've sold my iPhone to Gazelle in the past, great experience. My question is: Where does Gazelle re-sell these iPads?

I would definitely be interested in buying a used third gen iPad in good condition if the price was right, and I'd prefer not to have to use eBay since I trust Gazelle.

I'm puzzled as to why you fail to recognize that the first line of my second statement (in all seriousness) underlined the obvious sarcastic tone of my first (not bad, not bad at all). This all happened before I even preceded to make a statement that was contrarian to my opening remark.
