I wonder if I can get $500 for our 16GB WiFi iPad. Wife never uses it so she wants to sell it. Hrmm... guess I'll be putting it up on Craigslist. :)

The more the better

Feels like you're a target when you yank out that wunder-machine right now. The more there are out there, the less of a novelty it will seem. Kind of like the way the iPhone is right now - everyone has one. (Well, except for those who have Blackberrys)

(It's Monday, and I'm complaining about the most chickens**t stuff, I know)

Why is this surprising to anyone. The iPad cannabilized iPod sales.
Apple is just about to release a 3G iPod with front facing camera.
You'd be a fool to get the iPad now.

Oh clearly. A fool. Yes. Because a 3.5" iPod is definitely the same as a 9.7" iPad now.

I don't know why, but for some strange reason I think iOS 4 on the is iPad going to put the iPhone version to shame. Call me crazy...

Forget the iPods, that's what I'm excited about.

I was simply pointing out the probable silliness of the statement "anyone who wanted one already got one." The fact Apple has finally caught up with production does not mean demand has disappeared, as his/her comment implies. I'm sure Apple will continue to sell millions more of these, so clearly there are people out there who want them who do not yet have them.

Your statement may be just as silly. How exactly do you know that these figures are due to Apple having simply caught up with production? Why are they not due to a decline in sales? Where is the proof in your argument?

Haha, beat me to it! They're two different devices, anyone that's holding off getting an iPad because of the new iPod Touch, needs to get their heads checked!

Either you want a music player/mini computer that fits in your pocket or a tablet/entertainment device! :)

Sort of. The iPad is still not available in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
it's neither available in Finland, so you could have said it's not available in scandinavia.

Edit: And it won't be before iOS4, because there is no nordic keymap for iOS 3.x in current iPad.

Where is the poster who was predicting that the ipad was going to be an epic fail?

They are the same ones who are now saying iPads are available because demand has dried up. They never go away, they just change their tune. When the iPad was hard to get the mantra was that Apple was creating an artificial shortage in order to spur sales because the iPad was no good. Now that the iPad is readily available the mantra is that demand has tanked. Either way they still get to claim that the iPad is an "epic fail." When actual sales figures are released when the quarter ends the same critics will then pontificate about how they expected sales to be much higher and, again, make the "epic fail" argument. I'm actually surprised they aren't already arguing that the Dell Streak is killing the iPad. As other tablets become available the "epic fail" talking points will accelerate.

You can't reason with these types as they can always put negative spin on anything regarding Apple.

They won't release one at this event Wednesday. But I'm willing to bet they show a new one off. Available by the Holiday season.

Unless they hold another event in October.

I'll take that bet...

Apple would NEVER announce an improved iPad available even next week let alone several months because it would kill iPad sales until the new release came out. The only reason it was announced in January and not sold until April is because it was a brand new product with no existing device to speak of.

Now, pay me!!!

Pay you ? The event hasn't happened yet. :p

Okay, I don't have anything to bet, but you're on! Haha ;)

Clearly, Apple should drop all product lines that are "shipping w/in 24 hours," since those products are complete failures. As of right now, that would include all Apple's products, with the exception of the iPhone and the 12 core Mac Pro. :p

I wonder if this is just production ramping up a little and demand slowing down a little?

Either way, nice to know I could get one quick if I wanted it. :D
