So glad i brought that iPad back before the 14 day return ended. Bring on the updated full size version!
Apple, kill yourself.
I was going to buy the Nexus 7, but I need 3G.
I was waiting for the new iPad mini, because I prefer it (a lot). No 3G.
Damn!
No 3G, No iPad.
But it won't have Google Maps.
No sense to release a revised ipad with lightning when:
1. The new one is probably less than 5 months away.
2. No authorized factors are making lightning accessories.
3. It's a trade off to lose accessory support. The new product should be thinner to make up for it.
My prediction? A vastly thinner, more squared ipad in 2013 with the lightning connector, A6X processor and stereo speakers.
Personally, I'd be fine with WiFi only. If I really need the iPad connected I can just create a hotspot on my phone. However, I still think the option should be present for those who need it.
and if nothing ground-breaking is in the next iPad, apple can expect to lose more tablet market share than it did this year.
Way to dump on everyone in the UK that just bought a new iPad, buying in to all of that "spectrum is fragmented, won't be available for a few years yet" jargon.
Thanks, Apple!
Where you getting that from?

iPad / Tablet Market share increased to 68%

wifi only = NO GPS, NO COMPASS
wifi only = NO SALE
LTE and 7" size was the biggest draw for me.
But it won't have Google Maps.
if is wi-fi only That's sucks!
Stop stressing, heres the ipad mini situation:
NO retina screen
Same processor as in the new ipod touch
Available in 1 size only (8g)
Price $209 ($329 with lte)
Ipod touch 4g discontinued
What are you expecting in the new ipad? I can't think of much. An active stylus has been on my wish list sense the first iteration, but I doubt that that will come to fruition.
from 80% to 50%, you call that an increase?

GAH! I AGREE!
The whole thing about it is its portability!
If it doesn't have 3G then what is the point?
Just so the kids can use it at home?!?!?!
The Nexus 7 and Fire were both WiFi only to begin with so Wi-Fi only for the first generation does have some precedence at this form factor. I wonder if the added cost/certification process complicates things? It certainly increases the cost and I could see Apple wanting to have a dead simple Christmas purchase one device three memory sizes; they wont be able to make them fast enough.
