iPad Unboxing and Very Nice Hands On Video Review

For those desperate to see an unboxing video of the iPad, here's the first, from Stephen Fry. Fry, a well known friend of Apple, must have gotten one of the early shipments including all accessories:

Meanwhile, those looking for something a little more depth should really take a look at this video from PCMag. PCMag posted this excellent walk-through and review of the iPad. The hands on demo of the unit shows many of the iPad's features.

Apple's built-in apps and several 3rd party apps are demoed and shown in real time. The narrator reports that over 1000 apps will be available for the iPad at launch.

Overall a nice and quick review. I think I liked it more then Jobs' original Keynote. . . If only Jobs' had a "One more thing . . ."

one thing that just irked me, was that i just paid $599 for my ipad, and it will not include a pair of earbuds? every ipod that i have ever purchased had earbuds...I have grown accustomed to it

I decided to not watch this. Unboxing is one of best parts of buying an Apple Product. Don't want to ruin it for myself.

Right on. I agree, did you complain to about that? Probably not. I think that most serious music heads buy aftermarket headphones for the best experience so why should Apple include ones that may not ever be used. I cannot wait for mine, says it is in Kentucky now. I will be on the curb waiting Saturday.

Stephen Fry is a good friend of Jonny Ives. I don't think he's gonna get fired by anyone.

What does this mean? Who is getting fired ahaha? I don't understand what you are saying. You think this is a poor review and the reviewer is getting fired or do you think this is a review of a poor product and someone at Apple is getting fired. Truly I do not understand what you mean. You know, you may never see the point. Just you wait, the iPad will be huge success and maybe you will never see the point of it. I saw the point of it when I saw Jobs on stage. I bought another thousand shares of APPL immediately after that presentation. At $192 now at $234. Did you see the point of that? I did.

I thought that the Maps app was altered in Apple's video online, but it just looks phenomenal when you pinch and zoom... just awesome. AH!! New iPhone HD (name??) or this!?!?!?
