They will not work in both landscape and portrait, it's one or the other. Maybe someone else can lend a hand with the two images and make one that works universally. I cannot find it anywhere.. I have been looking for quite some time. Can some one either post or PM me the Island Palm Wallpaper on the iPad. I want to use that on my iPhone, I just can't find that specific one anywhere and I really like it.

Hey, thanks for this. I was looking for this pic.
I just realised that wallpapers can be a higher res than 1024x1024, as long as they're still square(for best effect). The higher the res, the better.
No I don't, I have not seen it in White yet. Maybe I can play around with that one in Photoshop and see what I can do. No promises tho. I know just enough to be dangerous.

Thanks. I've already found those and instead created some of my own, but I too have to figure out how to make it work with both portrait and landscape. I'm afraid it might not be possible. (iOS 4 for iPad might change this?).

Let me make a suggestion.
Create your 1024x1024 new blank image in Photoshop (or whatever)
Then on a new layer draw a line/box that's 768x768
All you need to is make sure the important detail of any wallpaper falls within this 768x768 box.
Anything that's outside the box will be hidden either horizontally or vertically depending on how the users is holding the iPad.
So, anything that it outside the 768 box needs to be "extra unimportant" detail.
If you stick with that it mind, it should be fine
Create your 1024x1024 new blank image in Photoshop (or whatever)
Then on a new layer draw a line/box that's 768x768

Doesn't work with shelves. The position of the icons change and that requires the position of the shelves to change as well, which is as far as I know not possible

In that case, no
Unless Apple allow you to have a different wallpaper when the screen is rotated.
But one person will not see the need for that, and due to that 1 person it will not be done.
