Does anyone have a definite idea on how much the unlimited data plan would be each month after taxes and other regulatory fees? Apple nor AT&T can provide me an answer.
There in is the problem it is a City, by City, County, by County, State by State, thing. Everybody has there fingers in your wallet/purse. On top of this what kind of Mystery fee's will AT&T tack on. Here what I could find.
All states charge a Federal Excise tax of 3.0% and Federal USF tax of 2.48%
More an more Cities are charging franchise fees on cell phones, New York City charges $1.00 a month per phone. One of the tricks used with Cell Phones is to get your service from a provider based in Nevada which has the lowest state taxes on cell phones, however because AT&T is the only game in town for the iPad, for now at least. You are stuck with your home location.
This list already has the federal charges added to the totals.

I don't think I will go with a 3G iPad. I have been very happy with my Touch 2G so I have a bench mark to work from. I am always around computers at home or at work so the need to have a 3G connection from a portable access device is just not important to me at this time.
I am waiting for Leo La Port's review of the 3G iPad on the MacBreak Weekly podcast, or vodcast.
