Kinda ugly. I dont like the black line across the top. Ugly is a strong word, just not as nice and elegant as the wifi. Besides, tehtering is coming. One way or another.

for reals. apple couldn't find a way to have better reception huh? that black strip just ruins the sleek look.

The image of the iPad on the front does not depict the 3G model?? That's some very un-Applelike lack of attention to detail right there.

Microsim, god I hate you Apple.

every time i think about how apple made the fist iphone with a recessed ear phone jack so you can only use apple headphones made me realize how ****ed up they are as a company,

Giant over-priced iPod Touch that you have to pay a monthly fee for. Hahaha idiots will buy anything.
I guess idiots have no clue either. :p
The 3G connectivity on the 3G iPad is pay-as-you-go. You only pay for if you decide you want it for the month. No contract, no month-to-month. Plus, it still has wifi. Compare this to netbooks sold with 3G connectivity under contract where you have to pay a more expensive data plan for 2-years, the 3G iPad is a much better deal.

So sayeth the troll, LOL.

The only thing more embarrassing than a fanboy's level of passion is an ANTI-fanboy's level of passion. :D

Look at the previous posts. Um, can we say "Google, Amazon, or Microsoft employee" anyone? Or is it disgruntled ex-Apple employee?

So does anyone know what's up with the Micro-SIM? How will the iPad 3G work with networks outside the US that only use normal SIMs? It's not like they couldn't have fit a normal sized SIM in there, it even fits into the iPhone.
More and more wireless carriers, including overseas, are adopting micro SIM. Micro SIM is not an Apple/AT&T only thing, it's a standard developed by Europeans, and agreed upon years ago.

Ha

Giant, self-important attitude that we have to put up with every time a Mac story comes out on a Mac related website. Hahaha, trolls will comment on anything. Grow up.

Hi,

What is wrong with the iPad having a Micro SIM card?

I am not familiar with the technology and what the potential problems could be.

Cheers,

s.

Can we say that we don't like ONE Apple product without the 40 year old MacRumors Nazis crawling out of the depths of their suburban homes and calling us blasphemous?!

I have to agree with him, there really is no need to have an iPad when you have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone (preferably the new one). The iPad just isn't for me.

would a brave soul please trim their iPhone sim and try plugging it in their 3G iPads? :D

There are many international people waiting to hear the answer to this. All that remains is for one hero to rise and forever vanquish this evil doubt.

there is nothing wrong with a micro SIM, people are just moaning that they can't take their card outta their cell phones and put it straight into the iPad.

also, if you have a cell phone you are entirely familiar with the technology, it's the same as a regular SIM just that there is less plastic around the chip itself.

i wonder if people went nuts when SIM cards went from being credit card sized to what we would now think of as regular?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

I would be interested to know the battery life of the 3G iPad compared to WiFi.

He's not saying there's no need to have an iPad. He's saying incorrect/false information that a user would be required to pay a monthly fee, while in reality it's optional and pay-as-you-go.

I really don't understand why people are complaining about the micro sim. The new iPhone is going to have it too. That's what happens with technology, it gets more compact over time, and space is important with these ultra compact devices. And the people still complaining about it being a giant iPod Touch are pathetic. I assume all of them have the smallest flatscreen TVs available, because the other ones are just bigger versions.
