    It's a fiction.

We think that Apple has to show us something great after the Galaxy S8. Let's see how is it going to look like:

everybody thinks the next iPhone's going to be a huge step. half true, half false. next year Apple expands the iPhone line, deeply separates iPhones following the target audiences, and releases a complete new quaternary series to celebrate the 10th anniversary: entry-level, main users (two sizes), and business users. There must be some well communicable improvements for every iPhone, but the question is still with us: what is the game-changer feature of the decade?

entry-level iPhone: stays fancy but not the smartest one: similar construction, improved features (camera, processor, connections), new functions rarely.

    iPhone: Retina 2K, 4.7" 2048*1152, 500ppi, with Home button

iPhone Plus: Retina 2K, 5.5" 2400*1350, 500ppi, with Home button

a new individual category (-> HP Elite X3) for comprehensive business use, first year in a few country:

    iPhone Pro: Retina 4K, 5.8" OLED HDR 4096*2160 800ppi, 1000 nit, 120Hz

    - new ergonomic design with no Home button
    - Touch ID built into the screen
    - Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision
    - new color options
    - 78% screen-to-body ratio (1.5x iPhone original)
    - 1 inch/oz. screen-to-weight ratio
    - 0.3-inch / 7.5 mm thick -> bigger battery + no camera bump

Some extra (and some exclusive) features are comming annually in the first three models:

    - diamond glass or sapphire glass
    - sub-10nm technology (CPU, GPU, SSD, RAM)
    - interoperable cores in a DynamIQ SoC
    - own TFLOPS level GPU
    - dedicated AI chip
    - 1 TB Intel 3D XPoint Optane united RAM and drive (>100 GB/s)
    - Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 2 compatibility
    - Bluetooth 5 includes wireless high-resolution audio (2018)
    - 5G (up to 10Gbps)
    - smart connector
    - glowing Apple logo and always-on display (notifications)
    - IP68
    - no SIM card (multi eSIM/Apple SIM)
    - split view
    - AirPlay Pro for desktop use
    - 802.11ad and 802.11ax + 4x4 MU-MIMO (up to 10Gbps)
    - fast (<1 hour) & long-range wireless charging
    - new battery technology: 2 days heavy use, charge(r)less weekend
    - 12 hours SoT
    - time-of-flight sensor (ToF)
    - heat pipe cooling system
    - stereo sound recording
    - four speakers
    - EVS (Ultra HD Voice)
    - 16MP (5120x3200) dual camera (VR 3D), 1/1.6 sensor, 1.6 µm pixel size, f/1.6 aperature
    - 5K HDR video recording 5120x2880
    - ISP with 1 trillion operation per photo in 0.01s
    - dual pixel AF
    - 2K slo-mo 1000 fps
    - AR camera system (depth sensor, motion sensor, gesture sensor, Intel Real Sense 3D)
    - laser focus (front and rear)
    - 5x optical zoom
    - color spectrum sensor
    - dual 6-axis OIS
    - 4K selfie video, dual camera, OIS
    - 360° sphere 3D VR-panorama photo
    - 2nd gen. (flexible iPhone S - 2020) with 6.4-inch "full vision" microLED Retina 5K 5760x2880 (2:1) 1000ppi, 91% screen-to-body ratio (1.75x original iPhone), bendable design for better AR/VR experience
    - foldable 4K OLED laptop dock with full size keyboard and Pencil capabilities, <1 lbs

    from 999 €

in 2018 the Home button and SIM cards leave the iPhones forever and the new design and OLED screen both arrive to all iPhone already (except the entry-level one). 2019 will be the year of the optimized coherent synergies, and in 2020 everybody will be shocked by the new iPhone S, the world's first 8K capable, AnTuTu-millionaire handy (1000x CPU performance of original iPhone), includes all of these features above.

    What do you think?

That is a comically long phone.

Everything else you typed...just guesswork. And some of it may be outlandish.

It's too early to predict what Apple will do.

These renditons are far fetched. All of those features you included will never happen. It's more of a dream list than a reality.

I believe the rumors. 5.8" screen. Minimal to no bezels. Roughly the same footprint as the iPhone 7.

I believe Apple will milk us and the current iPhone for as long as Jonny Ive's wardrobe of polo shirts is.

Make the 7S Plus a 5.5 inch bezel less LED screen, which would be the size of a regular 7, and may the 8 the 5.8 inch AMOLED bezel less phone.

Only you predict it will all be on this years' phone. With phones becoming thinner all the time, how do expect them to fit a proper 5x optical lens?

iPhone 8 will be amazing, I look over net and if rumors and pictures are true ... they leave you without breath.
All I can say is Time for saving money is should start now if you didn't start earlier.
For me is 4.7" PERFECTION. I know people like bigger phones. But for people who use computers and phone use for other purpose 4.7" is best.

I said: Some extra (and some exclusive) features are comming annually in the first three model [feature list] [...] and in 2020 everybody will be shocked by the new iPhone X [...] includes all of these features above.

5x optical zoom is not unreal (but not easy I admit it, even with): more than two cameras (3D scanning with IR depth sensor, LightField Camera, ToF sensor, monochrome sensor, color spectrum sensor etc.), thinner modules with improved technology combined (for accuracy) with laser and dual pixel autofocus, better sensors, better lenses, multi exposures (HDR Premium). it's a huge amount of information, and with a superfast ISP and 3.5 years will be enough for realizing up to 5x zoom. smartphone camera technologies are going to evolve for a while.

this is my favorite part :

    16MP (5120x3200) dual camera (VR 3D), 1/1.6" sensor, 1.6 µm pixel size, f/1.6 aperature

the golden ratio of the smartphone cameras (phi=1.61803398875)

I will not be upset, it's time for iPhone 7s... Why people talk about iPhone 8 first I don't know.
Every year first Special version show up and than next generation. Anyway I see iPhone 7s 4.7"
for us who can't afford iPhone 8 immediately. iPhone 8s will be improved, optimized, better...
I even thought to replace my SE for iPhone 6s, to give my phone and 150 euro for iPhone 6s new.
    But I gave up.

There are some leaks if you search. As bigger screen, screen on the side, fully tactile release...

Screen in the side? Fully tactile release?

We are talking about some sort of rumors basically (rather than leaks), right?
