Really don’t think we need tipsters in this day and age. Same pattern with dates every year. Predictable Apple

Yeah but this will be the first time they release 3 phones the same day. Last year the Xr wasn't available in September, and in 2017 we had to wait for iPhone X. Hopefully this time they'll start selling all the models the same month, makes things easier for people on the IUP.

Will have to see about the announcement. If it’s a yawner I might replace my iPhone 7 Plus with a XR once the XR is in the refurbished store. Recently purchased a refurbished iMac and extremely happy with the quality and cost savings.

Maybe its because I got an XR as an upgrade from my 6S+ a few months ago, but I'm just not excited by what rumors I've seen. I'm not looking to upgrade but I will be disheartened if at the end of the keynote I'm not pleasantly surprised by some aspect of the presentation.

Same here. Though I did not intend to keep my XR, my aging iPhone 7 is showing its signs through battery life, I could not wait until September for a new phone. Though rumor mills have pointed me towards the 2020 iPhones, I would rather wait until at least 2021 to go all out on new Apple products such as a new Mac and iPad Pro. Hopefully the 2021 iPhones are a more refined version and any kinks that may be present are completely sorted out by then.

I will watch the keynote so I can see what features are present and possibly carried through for the 2021 iPhones.

For the first time ever, we're a week or so out.. and I don't even care or think about the new iPhone.
Stinks, I know. I feel the same way this time. I'll watch the keynote as usual...but I do not plan on upgrading no matter what this new phone can do, that the XS Max can't. Only excited for the new OS (Watch OS, iPadOS) MacOS as well...but that upgrade will wait as usual - need to wait a few weeks to see if any bad bugs pop up.

What time would the preorder be on the East coast.
Pre-order as usual will be 3am EAST COAST time (12am WEST COAST) Sept 13th

It's a shame that the really big changes seem to be coming next year, especially as people (like me) tend to keep phones for a long time. I currently have an iPhone 6s Plus and stuck a new battery in it last year so it works pretty well really. I'm tempted to upgrade this year, however part of me wonders if I should wait until next year when we'll get a smaller notch and 5G (probably).

Yes, 5G compatibility is a waste of time for most people right now, but as I'll probably still have the next phone I buy in 3 or 4 years time, that situation is bound to change.

I need the presentation to really wow me.

Cheers for the tipster ! Hope the "11" will stay on battery longer than Xs o_O
30 min longer

Seems as if you will buy then, as Apple “wows” people even with the smallest most updates. They like customers like you; bait and switch.....
Personally I’d save your money (and change your way of thinking) and wait.

I'm waiting for the rumored 7 camera system with VR-UltraReality /3D, laser focus, AR enhanced live reality, 8K video in iPhone XII MAX Pro Plus
(ok, I have no idea what I'm talking about :p)

BUT..I do expect the 11S, 12 rumors to start up by Sept 25-30??

I'd like to see two sets of both front and rear cameras working in tandem to produce a 360° 3D VR video and photos.

Another user here with an X who's probably not upgrading. It just seems insane to waste 1K when my phone is working perfectly. My wife has an iPhone 7 so I could use that as an excuse to 'hand down' my X and get the new iPhone, but honestly, nothing I have heard so far has got me excited in any way shape or form.

Maybe Apple will pull something special out of the bag, but everything points to next year being the one to get.

Personally I am much more interested to hear if Apple announce the rumoured Apple Tags.

Question is, will it be the iphone XI or 11? The iPhone XIR or 11R? I mean, do you really want a phone that people will pronounce as the iPhone "Zir"

I’m still using a perfectly good launch day iPhone X. It will take a lot to get me to upgrade.

I was planning to hang on to my X through one more cycle, but I dropped it two weeks ago and cracked the screen. It’s very minor, but since it’s become major surgery to replace the screen, I’m going to go ahead with it.

I disagree. It's not exciting for those who want something new every year, but I've still got an iPhone 6, which will not be supported on iOS 13, so I need to upgrade now. If they skipped the S updates, those who hold out until they need a new phone might get stuck paying full price for a year+ old phone instead of having an option for a cheaper price on the non-S model or the better processor (even if mostly similar in features) in the newer version.
This is not an S year, but if it was, I'd be stuck paying $750 or $1,000 for old tech or settling for an 8. (I'd be happy to buy a discounted X if they still sold them)
Is there a compelling reason to upgrade your hardware for the sake of iOS 13? I haven’t seen much on iOS 13 they looks like a reason I’d want to purchase a new phone

Not to get political - but I think they will go with numbers this time. "11"
Sounds stupid with all thats going on, I see "XI" as the leader of China. (yes I realize the iPhones are coming from there)

So, 11R, 11 Pro, etc etc. Roman numerals will be skipped this year. Just a guess.

We’ve reached peak smart phone for all manufacturers. The only reason to upgrade is depleted consumables.
Not far off. I planned to sit this one out until I cracked the screen on my X recently. I wanted to hold off to see if next year they go usb-c. Oh well. I’m typically a two year refresher, so I guess it won’t kill my to get an 11 and wait for a 13 :)

Hard to say. If you have an X or newer, probably not. I’m using 13.1 now on my X, and aside from the screen being just a bit too touch sensitive, it works fine. I find that the slightest press beyond simple contact opens context menus or tries to give me a quick view of a web link. A little annoying, but I suspect by the time 13.1 actually rolls out it’ll be well sorted.

See I’m the opposite, it doesn’t take me much at all lol. (I think) I’ve had every model since the 3GS. But this is getting increasingly difficult to justify. The 11 is looking to be entirely too close to not only the XS but also the X for me to consider upgrading this year, and the one “major” rumoured feature is the biggest eye sore in iPhone history.

Almost feel as though it may be worth scrapping the S models for the sake of a yearly release, and just put everything into a new model every two years. These incremental updates are getting smaller and smaller.

You're suggesting Apple should forgo tens of billions of dollars in revenue from people who do upgrade every year? Next.

Say, any chance they’d do an L-shaped 9 camera setup?
